TLDR: This game isn't worth the full price, wait for a sale! Or find it in a red box!

Graphics -   Mad Max is at it's foremost a beautiful looking game, from shrapnel left behind from cars utterly obliterated, explosions from the high octane action, or the colourful palette that is sometimes introduced through the crazy gallery of characters that make up Max's unique universe, blood spatters when you blow a guy away with the shotgun and even the dynamic lighting really gives compliments to certain portions of the game.

Often times the most terrifying thing and most beautiful thing about the game is the sand storms that approach at random and can hit you at any time, sometimes without warning and it can truly be a sight to behold, I remember in my play through I had been sitting there eating my dinner with the controller next to me idling with anticipation, the next thing I knew I looked up and saw this massive cloud of dust overtake the rocky mountain beside me and come hurdling down like a ball of doom that I was about to be heading full speed into, the awesome thing about these storms is that the moment you enter one it almost completely blots out the sun and gives this terrifying feeling that 'this could potentially kill me', with random dust twisters flying about in the storm, lightning striking almost constantly, debris flying every which direction and all most no safe haven in the wasteland, sand storms can make the weaker of players turn back to bases in fear just so they can skip the night and get back to the wasteland at hand.

With that having been said though, I feel as though all this meticulous work was all for not, as the entire world that he is surrounded by is nothing but sand and rusted metal, it's not hard to have amazing art work in the game and have a great looking game when the entire world is made up of sand and spare junk parts that could be pieced together in a million combination of ways to make something look 'new' or 'unique' neither of which this game has very much of.

In fact the amount of unique looking places in the game that go beyond just the average junker base thrown together by scrap, can be counted on one hand and you wouldn't even use all of your fingers, you've got Gas Town and it's interesting pipe like structure with a built in death race course, then you have the Air Port and it's SOOO massive, but outside of one singular story mission there is almost no reason to ever even return there, as enemies don't even re-spawn when you visit later.

I give the graphics a solid 7.0 for the fact that is looks absolutely gorgeous in what it does, but I can't give it even a fraction of a point higher because of the fact that there isn't much originality or uniqueness that we're used to seeing in Max's crazy world, it ponies a lot of the recent movie and not even necessarily in the good way, most of the rendering power is on the sand and unfortunately there is more sand in this game than anything else so it's not really eye popping, or spectacular.

Sound -  So the sound in this game was something that was bound to score higher than the others, because there isn't much to the sound concept other than engines revving, thunder sticks exploding on contact with metal and flesh, the exploding of bodily extremities as you blow off parts of war boys with your thunderpoon or shotgun, the sounds of combat are a lot like that of the Arkham series which carries a lot of weight and impact with the punches, it's really key that games nail that down otherwise it can totally ruin other aspects of game play.

I'm a car guy, but not to the extreme but there is just something about popping your first V8 engine under the hood and hearing the thunderous growl it makes as you rev up your new deathmobile, for this reason and the fact that the voice acting in this game is actually quite superb for the characters being portrayed, I can give this portion a solid 8.0!

Addictiveness - Unfortunately this is not one of the games strong suits, playing the story in it's entirety is about as fun as it'll get, they have side activities such as death races, or collecting parts for bases that allow you to easily access necessities that Max needs to survive the wasteland, such as water for health, ammo for your guns/thunderpoon.

Outside of some what I consider to be tediously lame side missions? You'll just want this adventure to be a one and done sort of deal, for that reason I can only give this section of the game a 5.0..

Story - Max's is beaten and left for dead, the iconic Black on Black car is stolen from you, things couldn't get much worse and yet? They do, your only friends in this mad world are a dog and Chumbucket, a mechanical black finger that can pretty much fix any sort of damage that you happen to do to a vehicle, through a mad chase of fetch missions for a bunch of territory leaders you end up learning the whereabouts of your sacred Black on Black and the people responsible for having taken it in the first place, this leads you to meet a whacky variety of waste landers that want to help/hinder you, all with their own agendas on surviving another day in the wasteland.

Unfortunately what makes this score such a low number is the fact that the ending can only be summed up as completely unnecessary and avoidably dumb, there are also a lot of moments where I find Max doing and saying things that I don't think Max would actually do and or say, the story is also very cliche and unoriginal and for being a sequel to Fury Road you'd think it could've done a little more with the resource goldmine that it was laying on top of.

Depth - I'm going to treat this section as if it were solely about Gameplay, the hand to hand combat plays out in the same fashion that the Arkham series first coined, there is a level of realism that causes you to think while fighting however, since you're Max and not Batman you can't just pull out mid-comboing a dude in the face only to parry another guy and smash his face in turn, with Max you have to be done with your current action in order to actually parry someone else, what I mean by this is if you were to be caught in a scrap with four dudes and you were busy mashing square to kick a war boy's front teeth in? If that leg of yours is flying while someone else is about to hit you from behind, you're just going to have to suck it up and take one for the team butter cup, cause he's about to plow the back of your head with his unsanitary meat hook.

You're not totally without a defense game though as Max can combat roll out of the way to avoid being hit, this is useful if you want to roll away from one enemy and up to another to initiate a shotgun execution, or a shiv takedown which acts as a one hit kill after stunning them with a couple regular punches, the one thing this game likes to do more than the others however is environmental take downs, Max likes to use walls and other forms of sturdy surfaces to break the faces of his enemies, leading to some particularly brutal slow motion finishers.

Speaking of finishers is the fact that Max has a fury meter that builds up after beating the hell out of one or two guys depending on how much you've upgraded yourself, leading to stronger and more vicious attack that can turn the tide of battle and lead for awesome moments like a drop kick/suplex.

However with that being said, combat could also be extremely repetitive as there is only so many ways that you can punch someone and a lot of the time the combat instances would play out the same, the base bosses all pretty much were the same looking dude and all encountered ended up the same, they had clever traps set up to where you could get them to hurt themselves, but there was absolutely no reason to take advantage of it as you could just roll underneath his hammer and then start pounding on his face before he stopped taking damage and then casually rinse and repeat.

Vehicular Combat is another form in which you can destroy and obliterate some War Boys, allowing you to harpoon things and either drag them around, or dart them off in the opposite direction of your car can be hilarious fun, more so as you level up the harpoon and start to get to pull wheels and other vital parts to your enemies vehicles off as you're speeding down the dusty roads, you've also got your thunderpoons which are the explosive spears that were previously used in the Fury Road movie, the AI act accordingly to your driving and just like in the movie will attempt to dive bomb your car with these explosive sticks to try and inflict massive damage, but you can just easily bang the car to make them lose balance, or pop away from the enemy vehicle and if they were mid jump would miss and splatter all over the floor.

Vehicular Control starts off extremely sluggish and actually kind of hurts the score for the fact that a game built off driving should have the most driving solid mechanics one would think, but instead it feels loose at times and makes things like death races impossible when the slightest pebble can cause your car to swerve to the left or right like it were a Prius, this can cause frustration as well when one of the bosses in the game are actually featured in a race that you have to win first place in, all the while dodging traps with the shoddy mechanics given to you.

I give this area a solid 7 though because of the fact it has a ton of side missions to complete for various territory leaders that help out Max and vice versa, you can do things like death races, play side missions for random wanderers in the wasteland, or collect base pieces that will ultimately get you more scrap to upgrade your car and Max, what stops it from being anything more is that a lot of the side missions and death races really aren't that fun due to a lack of proper vehicle controls, there are also portions of this game that serve no purpose outside of the story and don't even offer any replay value after beating the story and getting your iconic Black on Black to drive around again,  no enemies re-spawn and some things happen after you beat the game that completely shatter the immersion.

Customization - This is one of the stronger points of the game and something I kind of actually enjoyed doing, there is variant of customization from the car and even on Max himself, as you levelled up Max in the wasteland you could equip new hairstyles, length of beard and or no beard, or you could dawn different types of clothing that offered up game play benefits such as more pouches to hold items, or increased damage with melee or ranged attacks.

The biggest part of this section though has to go to the vehicle customization, you start out with a pretty basic Magnum Opus that is the laughing stock of the wasteland, over the course of some butt-kickery you're able to upgrade this Beast Machine into something truly magnificent, with a V8 motor, tight suspension and enough upgraded parts that can make you fast enough to win even the most stacked races, you can also customize it's appearance in ways that matter by adding spikes, or blades to certain parts of the car so that when other cars rams you it actually ends up hurting them, or the fact you can stop War Boys from trying to board the top of your car if it's covered in spikes.

While we're on the subject of vehicle customization, I might as well mention that you can create entirely new styles of the Magnum Opus that give it that truly unique feeling that this is YOUR vehicle and nobody else's, earning customization a solid 8.5, it's missing a wider variety of clothing options for Max that I believe would've had a tighter impact on this feature of the game.

Difficulty - The only difficulty in this game either comes from when you don't have enough time to stop the War Drummer from buffing the attack or defence of enemies and bases, or when the mediocre driving mechanics cause you to mess up horrendously over and over.

Overall Value - There is no mad value to this game, nor does it really take anything to the max, I feel like it could've done so much better in so many respects and it even dropped some story lines for absolutely no reason and they were some of the more interesting ones, it was some bad decision making all around, but I have to say for that one and done play through? It was fairly decent, just not the Mad Max game we were looking for? I give the overall value of this game a loose 7 and more of a solid 6 as it's just pretty much average.

And as always! Thanks for reading, GAME ON!

Your review was good overall. You structured it well in your own way, you gave it plenty of details and explained why you did not like it. However, your strange punctuation pattern made it hard for me to read. Do not forget about periods; those poor commas are tired .
