What we have here is a game based on a movie that is in turn based on a game. Yeah I don't get how that works either. But for some reason Capcom found a way. And for me at least they found a way to get me turned off till the release of Street fighter 4. So what's right with this game? In a single word nothing. But I am here to right a review on how bad the game based on a movie that is based on a fighting series that is one of my favorites still to this day is. First before I get to the review part let me say I am a huge fan of the Street Fighter games. From the crossovers they did with SNK twice to X-men Marvel, and to a weird extent Tekken I have played and/or owned them all. But Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game is one I never owned. Why? Mainly has to do with how bad the movie is. All I will say is do not watch the movie. But this is a game review not a movie review. So on with the actual review part of it.

Difficulty 1: The game is not hard at all. Seriously it isn't. Even on the highest game difficulty setting I easily managed to beat the game in about 45 minutes. The controls on the other hand were tight and responsive. I will give credit on the game for that.

Depth 1: What depth? It has as much depth as the movie its based on. The games that the movie is based on had way more depth then that and the were animated 2 dimensional fighters.

Addictiveness 1: The game is not addicting at all. Unlike most Street Fighter games I find myself  going through them a couple of times with different characters. On Street Fighter" The Movie: The Game has no addicting qualities at all whatsoever. Avoid it at all costs.

Sound 1: The sounds of the game are really degrading to listen to. It got so bad that I had to turn off my speakers just to play the game. The sounds were that bad.

Graphics 1: The digitized characters fighting on digitized backgrounds is really hurting on the eyes. What worked for Mortal Kombat does not work for Street Fighter

Overall 0.1: Bad. This game has no redeeming features or quality at all. Avoid both it and the movie. If you're a Street Fighter fan like me you are not missing out at all if you never play this game. It is forever the black Sheep of both Capcom and the Street Fighter series. If I had a physical copy of it and the movie I would set them both on fire and bury the ashes.

Final Thoughts. My final thoughts on the game should be pretty obvious from my review. Avoid it at all costs. It is a magnum opus of orchestrated awfulness. After play the game I wanted to poke out my eyes and eardrums. So is there anything at all I can say that might shed a slight redeeming quality on the game? Sure there is. And that is Capcom finally did something Midway at the time could not do. And that is get the actual Jean Claude Van Damme into a video game and not make a character that is based on him.

I'm not really a Street Fighter fan, but I have to say, I know the movie was pretty bad, but I love that movie, mostly for Zangief. And who doesn't like JCVD? XD

You keep reviewing really bad games, and because you keep telling us not to waste our times playing it... I kind of want to. XD

Nice review though.

Its easy to review the bad ones. The good ones are a littler harder cause everything good has been said about them already.

The interesting thing, in my eyes, is that they felt the need to make a game based off of this. So, they had a movie that was based on a game, that was already crappy. So then they made a game based on the movie that was already based on a game? That's a recipe for trouble if I've ever seen it. Nice to know that it's about as good as the movie it's based on. From what I've heard, the voice acting was also worse than the original Street Fighter. I don't even know how they were able to do that.

You did a decent job on the review. It has a decent word count, and it's articulate enough for me to understand exactly why you don't like this game. The only problem I can see is that there's a few grammar and spelling errors here and there, but they don't hurt the review too much. Keep up the good work, I'm sure your writing will get better with time and practice.

Indeed, you are either unlucky or just have a keen eye for bad games .

Anyway you gave enough details to say why this game, in your eyes, is bad. Question: has Capcom redeemed themselves after this blunder?
