Pokémon Pyrite is one of the most difficult and tedious hacks I've ever played, and that's coming form someone who played Pokémon HarvestCraft.
The game starts out like the other Gen 2 games, Prof oak talks to you about Pokémon or something, nobody pays attention to his speeches anymore, blah, blah, Pokémon, blah blah, what gender are you, etc.
The game as stated before is hard. Not just because of the increased difficulty, because of 2 new features that the developer claims he added to balance out the game but I think he/she added it to tick people off, you can't use potions whilst in battle, and level caps.
the level caps prevent you from grinding past a certain level until you get a specific badge.
ex: you cant pass Lv 20 until you get the First Badge from Falkner. Oh, and another thing, once you enter a gym, you better be ready, cause you ain't leaving till you beat the leader.
Now, I don't think the hack is completely awful, it's actually fun. Although it does become incredibly tedious once you pass the 3rd gym.
Maybe the creator could add few things like Pokémon like Machoke and Haunter being able to evolve through leveling up/evolution stones or reusable TM's.
