Overall=6.5
I am giving it a rather low score,because the controls are slippery and it seems that the gray truck,driven by Ironman usually wins the race. The upgrades do help but your best option is usually load up on nitros. After you gain all the upgrades,there is not a lot of reason to play. It is fun for a while,but there are better games out there.
Graphics=7
It does bear a close resemblance to the arcade machine and it gets good marks here,it is a top down sort of view and that may turn people off,especially ones that like first person view. The end of the race shows the top 3 along with a girl in various poses and states of swimsuits.
Sound=7
It sounds pretty close to the arcade version and does a serviceable job here. The money bag sound effect can sound a bit off and the music is repetitive,but it is otherwise fairly spot on.
Addictiveness=6
It is a bit of a battle to upgrade your truck,but once that is done,there is really no real reason to race. It is fun for short bursts of time,but I cannot see myself sitting down and playing this for a few hours.
Story=4
You drive around a track collecting nitros,money,and try to finish in first place. It is like the reason I cannot get into NASCAR,you drive in a track,there is no objective except stay alive and finish first.
Depth=6
Other than the racing,you get a bit of depth by upgrading your truck which can take quite a few races. Once you finish that,there is no more challenges or goals for you. There are some mirrored tracks,but honestly it comes off kind of cheap here.
Difficulty=8
The controls are very slippery and do not feel precise,"Ironman" tends to win often,especially early on. Once you have upgraded then you stand a decent chance. But your best bet is to load up on nitro and hammer it on the straightaways. But watch out,you could inadvertently aid your rivals if you hit the nitro and hit them square in the bumper and give them a free boost.
