My mother told me this was on Facebook, the day after that he died and I actually felt very sad about it.  I've always loved how he was like with all of his directs especially with his signature directly to you pose...  I feel so sad because he had to deal with a hate bomb from e3 and no one even seemed to wonder about why he never came by and the new Metroid must've a major blow to him because ok so it's not really what was wanted but at least give the man some peace of mind for trying to work, even when his life was coming to an end.  I just hope to god that those haters see the error of their ways and change it up from being haters to better gamers for a man who is gaming and if not, I hope you will suffer on hating on a man who has went out on his entire life to gaming.  And I'm also talking to you melee fanboys out there to stop being such an idiot, I own all 4 and I don't give a damn on which one is god, they all are in their own way and please, do it for Iwata.

Every time I hear this I refuse to believe it. I know it is true, But I refuse to believe it. I mean this Isn't just tragic for Nintendo fans... this is tragic for every video game fan out there.

It's a sad day indeed for not just Nintendo fans but ALL GAMERS. He's done so much for the gaming industry, he will sorely be missed. My best wishes go out to his family. He was too young to die.

Sounds like Shigeru Miyamoto will be the next best option at CEO since he's the only remaining figurehead at Nintendo.

Jordanv78 : Yeah, I also think he would be the next president of Nintendo. I think he would do a great job, but I haven't learned that much about him yet.

Mr Miyamoto is actually 'co-chairing' the company with Genyo Takeda until a permanent replacement is found.

PacmanandMariofan : Mr Miyamoto is the driving force behind many games but most notably(for me anyway) the Zelda series. We have him to thank for the gaming industry in general since he was a part of many innovative features that have become standards.

When Mr. Iwata passed away, the ambulances went Wii U Wii U Wii U.
But in all seriousness, it's quite sad.
"Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth."
I mean...just...Iwata way to go.

I'm sorry, dark humour is how I cope with things.

Serious now, I do feel really sad. A great man he was, and he shall be missed.

Surgiac : Oh, nice! I didn't know that he contributed to any innovative features, so now I'm even more confident that he'll be a great Nintendo president if he's picked for the job

maguc : Humor is often how I cope with things like this too, so seeing your post here cheered me up. That ambulance joke... XD

tgags123 :

I have no idea why the Wii would be considered strong- I only own one for some homebrew hacks and because it plays GC titles in 2x!

The Wii U is much better, and I doubt the DS was better than the 3Ds!

How did. . . . they come across this logic?!?!?

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

Sword legion : Well they did it based on sales. I agree that the Wii is one of Nintendo's worst consoles but it was extremely successful as far as sales go because it was the first console to have a motion sensor thing. Everyone thought it was so cool, especially kids.

As a long time Nintendo fan and consumer, I feel that this hit a lot harder than most people. Unfortunately, I was away on a trip to Chicago when I got the announcement so I could not do much to join in the mourning. After I got back however, I was sitting here simply listening to sorrowful remixes while playing Smash Bros with my new main:

I now am maining an Iwata Mii Fighter out of tribute. I've also made a collage of different Deviations to use as my wallpaper, but the art isn't mine so I won't show that.

In any case, we can thank Iwata for the DS, the Wii, the 3DS, and the Wii U, with his expert management and friendly expertise of the company. For a corporate head to be beloved by all of his workers and consumers alike takes an extraordinary person, and Satoru Iwata damn well was one of them.

Rest in Peace, Iwata. May your path after be direct.

A legend gone too soon. What a blow to Nintendo and so many of their consumers..and so unexpected. Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata. You will be missed.
