I have always been a fan of these kinds of games, no matter how bland it was there was always a special place in my heart for these games because of how often I uses to play then when I was a kid. I remember when I wad like 6 or 7 years old there was this bakery a few blocks from where I lived that had all sorts of arcade machines and this Puzzle Bobble was one of the ones that I played all the time. I normally don't play games like this that are based on movies because I feel that too much is changed around, like when Frozen came out I saw the game but refused to play it, and the only other one I played was Minion Rush. I did see this movie though the day it came out and I really liked it and when I saw this game I was kind of curious as to how the game would play out so I decided give it a try. The game didn't disappoint me one bit, it had the same game play as a regular game of this genre but it had so many different aspects that kind of made it a lot of fun so I'm glad that I had given it a try.

GRAPHICS 7/10

There aren't really that many bad things that you can say about the graphics, heck the only thing you can say is that there aren't that many colors in the game which are based on the colors of the people in the movie. Normally I think games like this one have many different colors while this one only had 5, blue, yellow, red, green, and purple. The colors themselves don't really matter all too much because they are just used for the little bubble things, they're small, and they don't really do much aside for fall when you hit them and the one that you launch. Don't worry though, that's not the only thing that has color, the overall graphics of the game are pretty good.

When you first start the game and you’re on the map, you’re going to see a bunch of colors and designs, and each different world has a different layout. For instance, the 2nd world where you unlock sadness looks like a bunch of tall bookshelves and it looks pretty cool. When you are playing the game, aside for the bubbles you also have a little background that is going to resemble the world that you are in, though its a bit blurry so you don't end up paying too much attention to that instead of the game. In my opinion, the best part if the graphics would be the characters that you play with in each level. Depending on who you pick, that character is going to be in the bottom left corner of the screen as you play. They look just like they do in the movie and they are going to react based on how you perform in the game which is pretty cool in terms of animations, especially for a mobile game. Overall the graphics are fairly decent and my grade for this aspect is going to be a 7 out of 10.

SOUND 8/10

The sounds of the game are pretty decent, you have the music, the sounds, and the voices. For once, I actually feel that the music is the worst aspect of the sound for two reasons. First off I feel that the music is a bit too low, even when you're in the map and don't actually need to hear anything else. I would have understood if the music was loud when you are on the main menu or map and then dropped a bit when you start the game, but that's not what happens, the music is just at one low volume for the entire duration of the game. I also don't really lime how there's only one song, or so I think, there could be multiple songs that sound the same and play at different points but to me I just seems like one looping song that continues between the menu, map, and game. The song is pretty cool but I feel that the developers could have done just a bit better by adding some variety when it came to the music.

Next up you have the sounds of the game, though there aren't really that many. You have the sound when you hit a bubble and when they pop, when you hit a skill shot and make a special move, but that's about it. Then you move onto the voices which I feel is the best part of the sound because the characters actually talk. When you are picking what character to play as in a level they have a bunch of different phrases that they will say as you click on them. While you are in the game, depending on what you do they will also say a couple other phrases and it's pretty cool, especially since it's the same voices from the actual movie which isn't really something that most games want to do. All in all, each of the aspects of sound were at least ok, with the voice aspect being amazing so as a whole, sound was really good and for a grade gets an 8 out of 10.

ADDICTIVENESS 7/10

The game shows a lot of potential by taking the regular aspects of a bubble and then adding so much more. It doesn’t just take the characters and ideas from the movie, it also adds in its own unique spin to make sure that all of the features stand out. For instance instead of just popping the bubbles and clearing the level, there’s also levels where you need to free workers who are trapped in the bubbles. There’s also levels where you need to aim your bubble into little fan things or pop frozen bubbles, and doing all of these extra little things is a whole lot more fun than just popping the bubbles by themselves. The game can be a lot of fun especially if you are already a fan of these games maybe from when you were younger and the games seem nostalgic go you. Regardless of why you play it, there will always be a reason and the fun of playing these kinds of games will never die, even if you just play them as a way to pass the time.

You might play the game as a way to pass the time but you might find that the game could be so much fun that you end up playing it for much longer than you had plan, and yes, this had happened to me. When I first played this game after a while I kept saying that I would do one or two more levels but every time those one or two more went by I would again say that I would do just a few more. I knee that I had things to do but I just didn't want to put the game down because I was having such a great time, even though the game couldn't get any simpler. Just because the game seems like its going to be really easy on the surface doesn't mean that it can't be fun at the same time, and that's exactly what this game is, it's fun, and it's also addicting. For a grade, it's good enough to deserve a 7 out of 10.

STORY 5/10

One could say that there are a few bits and pieces scattered around the game that have to do with a story, and in some cases they would be right. Most of the games that are like this, Bubble popping games, are just you playing the same game over and over again with a different layout each time but this isn't really like that. This game has a set path for you to follow with certain levels to beat. It isn't just the path that suggests this, there's a few other aspects as well like the kinds of levels that the game has to offer which have been mentioned in the last section. One of the levels involves saving workers who are trapped in the bubbles and others use different goals for you to beat each one which helps you progress through your journey. Another little aspect is the use of the characters from the movie and how you get them. You don't start off with all of the 5 characters at the start of the game but you have to unlock them by going through all of the levels and then getting to certain points. I would say that this is the biggest aspect of this game when it comes to a story because if you have to do something to unlock another character, that's really part of what a good plot should be. You don't have quests or anything like that but you do have progress and goals and that's good enough to count for a story and my grade for this aspect is going to be a 5 out of 10.

DEPTH 9/10

The game has a ton of depth, even though it's only about shooting bubbles into other bubbles and then making them pop. Honestly, I would say that only this specific version of the game is the only one that really has any sort of significant depth. If you were to ask me how much depth a regular bubble game had, I would probably have to give it a really low grade and that's because games like this normally don't have much in them aside for the game and nothing else, but this game is special. It isn't just being based on a movie that makes it so special, all of the features that the developers put in make it so that the game has so much to offer and so that it's better than any other game of its kind. For starters, let's look at the characters, you can play as any of the 5 characters from the movie, once you unlock them of course. The standard bubble game doesn't even have any characters at all and not only does this one have 5, but each of them have their own animations and even their own special moves.

When you talk about the characters, you're really just scratching the surface of the depth because there's so much more, next up we have the actual levels which have so many different aspects of depth within them. There's more than 100 levels for you to go through, 125 to be exact which are scattered over 6 different worlds. In addition to the number of levels you also have the number of level modes which have been mentioned multiple times before as well as various challenges. Some level modes in addition to the regular bubble popping include freeing workers who are trapped in bubbles and skill shots which require shooting bubbles into small places. Some challenges include frozen memories as well as faded memories which both affect a level drastically. If you don't really think that the number of levels and characters mean that much. Then take a look at the size of some levels as well which can be really big. Some of the regular bubble levels in the first world had as many as 200 bubbles or more that you had to pop. I really don't have to argue anymore that this game has a lot of depth because it does and my grade for this aspect is going to be a 9 out of 10.

DIFFICULTY 3

For the most part the game is really easy, just take a look at what you are doing, you're launching a bubble into more bubbles trying to match them. If you had to compare this to anything else, just imaging playing pool and shooting the cue ball for the 1st time to the others over and over, which is probably the easiest part of a game. It took me a really really long time before I failed a level for the first time, in fact, I had already made it past a dozen or so levels before I even finished a level with less than 3 stars and I didn't fail a level until I was well into the 2nd world. The game can get a bit difficult as you unlock more features and such, and that's for the same reason as why the game is fun, because there's more stuff.

If this was just a regular bubble game, I would have been even easier but because of the various level modes and challenges, the game does seem to be just a bit more difficult. Instead of just knocking down whatever bubbles that match, you need to knock down specific ones to free a worker or to make a skill shot or even to take down a frozen bubble. It starts off like any bubble game but as you go deeper into the levels it can get just a bit challenging and there's nothing that you can do about it really. If you fail a level, all you need to do is remember what was the mistake you made so you can avoid it. Maybe you fired the wrong bubble or fired it into the wrong place, ad long as you can keep eliminating mistakes as you play, you will stand a better chance at beating a level and that's all you need to do. Overall the game can be quite easy and my grade is going to be a 3.

OVERALL 8/10

Overall, this game was a blast. When you mix together the raw fun of this game with the easiness and the nostalgia, you have yourself a pretty good combination that will ensure you don't want to put the game down for a while. This isn't the kind of game that will take up dozens of hours out of your life and be super addicting, but if you end up liking it, you could easily find yourself playing it for maybe half an hour a day for a while. If you have played these bubble games before and had liked them, then I really suggest that to check this one out because not only would the core aspects of the game be enough to remind you of the games you have played in the past, but all of the new features would be a nice little treat. So what I'm trying to say is that if you have access to this game, you should play it, regardless of you like the movie or not, it's still fun, and my overall grade for this game is going to be an 8 out of 10.
