The popular manga from Masami Kurumada has seen some adaptations as anime series and a few videogames as well. This year, the newest anime has premiered, and there’s also a sequel planned for this game to be released during the present year.

But let’s focus on the matter at hand. Brave Soldiers includes more than 50 fighters, which is a lot, even though it still misses some important additions. The main cast from the first anime is included, since the very beginning when Saori didn’t even know she was Athena up to the fated battle against Hades, passing through the scuffle against Poseidon. Warriors from all three sides gather for the ultimate showdown.

The fighting system is pretty easy. You can perform simple combos with normal strikes (Square or Triangle), use your Cosmo to strengthen your strikes (L2+Square or Triangle) and finally use your Cosmo for what we could call the signature attacks of each fighter (Circle and L2+Circle). There are some exceptions to the signature attacks rule, because some players may have more attacks disguised under other commands that aren’t the signature ones, either in throws or strengthened strikes. Lastly, there’s the big finisher, called Big Bang Attack (R2), which consumes three portions of the Cosmo bar on the bottom of your screen. You will notice that when this attack is available, at least three portions of the bar will change color from blue to orange. These attacks are very powerful, and also quite flashy, but in most cases are rendered nearly useless, as they need close contact to be triggered. As always, exceptions do exist.

In here, I will detail all signature attacks of each fighter, with the corresponding button combination. All attacks used in the anime will be displayed by their name (if said name is yelled in Japanese instead of English, the name displayed will be in English with the yelling besides it in parenthesis like now), while attacks not used in the anime, or at least not named, have been given a certain name. I would like to point out I don’t own an English version of this game, so the names for these attacks will be a direct translation of the name they were given in the Spanish version I own. Some attacks take inspiration from either the constellation the fighter represents, like in Andromeda’s case which includes the word “Nebular”, or from the fighter’s origin or training place, like Hyoga and his Kol’tso (“ring” in Russian, Hyoga is half-Russian and trained in Siberia) and Shiryu’s and Dohko’s attacks named after Rozan, the Japanese name of Lu Shan, the mount in China where they trained.

Here are the fighters, ordered by the deity they are loyal to: Athena, Poseidon, and Hades.

ATHENA

Athena’s loyal warriors are called Saints. Their cloths come in three ranks, depending on their resistance and the Saint’s own power: Bronze, Silver and Gold. There’s a special type of cloth known as God Cloth, far more resistant and powerful than the Gold Cloths, and then there’s Athena’s own cloth, manufactured by gods instead of mortals, giving it tremendous power and resistance.

Pegasus Seiya (first cloth)

The first Pegasus Cloth seen, used up to the battle of the Sanctuary.

Pegasus Rolling Crush: L1+Square/Triangle

Seiya grabs his opponent from behind and jumps into the air, performing a barrel roll, before plummeting to the ground head first.

Pegasus Meteor Fist (Pegasus Ryusei Ken): Circle

Seiya unleashes a myriad of punches at the speed of sound, which take the appearance of meteors or falling stars. Capable of striking a dozen of hits if performed at point blank range.

Pegasus Comet Fist (Pegasus Suisei Ken): L2+Circle

A stronger version of the Meteor Fist. Instead of launching a barrage of punches, Seiya concentrates them in a single blow, which takes a shape reminiscent of a comet.

Big Bang Attack: Pegasus Meteor Fist (Pegasus Ryusei Ken)

Seiya’s aura takes the form of a Pegasus, and he unleashes countless punches against his opponent. The attack ends with the opponent crashing into the ground head-first behind Seiya.

NOTE: Short-medium range

Pegasus Seiya (new cloth)

The first evolution of the Pegasus Cloth, repaired by the Gold Saints’ blood. Used in the battle against Poseidon.

Pegasus Seiya (final cloth)

The second evolution of the Pegasus Cloth. Repaired with Athena’s blood after Hades invaded Sanctuary.

Big Bang Attack: Pegasus Comet Fist (Pegasus Suisei Ken)

Seiya charges his Cosmo on his right fist and then unleashes a devastating comet onto his opponent. The comet then pushes the opponent into the air and explodes, resulting in a massive energy burst.

Andromeda Shun (first cloth)

The very first Andromeda Cloth to appear.

Nebular Chain: Circle

Shun extends his chain horizontally, reaching out almost the other side of the arena.

Thunder Wave: L2+Circle

Shun sends his chain through a portal above his head to the location of the opponent at the time the attack is performed. The chain will appear over the opponent’s head zigzagging to the ground, knocking him/her out.

Big Bang Attack: Nebular Chain

Shun concentrates his Cosmo, swinging his chain onto the target, knocking it out.

Andromeda Shun (new cloth)

An evolution of the Andromeda Cloth, repaired with the blood of the Gold Saints after the battle in Sanctuary.

Big Bang Attack: Thunder Wave

The chain sets its target, and then goes after it zigzagging up and down. The opponent takes the hit, with the impact making him/her bounce off the ground near dead.

NOTE: When starting the attack, the chain travels underground to the opponent’s current location, so this attack is sure to hit.

Andromeda Shun (final cloth)

The second evolution of the Andromeda Cloth, repaired with Athena’s blood after Hades invaded Sanctuary.

Big Bang Attack: Nebular Stream

Shun jumps into the air, charging his Cosmo on his right fist. He then unleashes a potent stream of pink energy that sends the opponent flying.

Phoenix Ikki (first cloth)

The first version of the Phoenix Cloth. In the anime, the helmet was given some kind of eye mask, but it probably was so Ikki could hide his identity when posing as the first antagonist, since it was never seen after he allied with Athena.

Phoenix’s Wings Rise (Hoyoku Tensho): Circle

Ikki’s main physical attack. He extends his right palm before him, releasing a wave of fire that takes the shape of a flying Phoenix.

Phoenix Illusion Demonic Fist (Phoenix Genmaken): L2+Circle

Ikki’s mind-destroyer technique. He punches the opponent in the head with his right fist, attacking directly his/her brain. In the game, the opponent falls to the ground face first in a state of unconsciousness. This attack has medium range, as its Ikki’s punch which triggers the technique and not an energy wave.

Big Bang Attack: Phoenix’s Wings Rise (Hoyoku Tensho)

Ikki jumps high into the air, unleashing a vortex of flames that traps his opponent. He then charges his Cosmo on his left fist, unleashing a wave of fire towards the opponent in the shape of a Phoenix, that explodes upon hitting its target.

Phoenix Ikki (new cloth)

An evolution of the original Phoenix Cloth. Since the Phoenix Cloth has the ability to self-regenerate, it evolved by itself after Ikki was brought back from the dead before the final battle in Sanctuary.

Phoenix Ikki (final cloth)

The second evolution of the Phoenix Cloth. It self-repaired after Ikki entered Hell to battle Hades.

Big Bang Attack: Phoenix Illusion Demonic Fist (Phoenix Genmaken)

Ikki charges his Cosmo on his right hand, and rushes towards the opponent. He then punches him/her in the head without stopping his rush, which is seen as a red lightning bolt horizontally passing through the opponent’s cranium while the background turns dark. The opponent then falls to the ground face first, unconscious, with Ikki turning his back on him/her.

NOTE: Medium-long range

Dragon Shiryu (first cloth)

The first Dragon Cloth.

Dragon Rising Force (Rozan Sho Ryu Ha): Circle

Shiryu uppercuts the opponent, with his Cosmo unleashing the aura of a dragon rising to the sky.

Dragon Flight (Rozan Ryu Hi Sho): L2+Circle

A variant of the aforementioned attack, this time displayed horizontally. Shiryu dashes forward, surrounded by the aura of the dragon, to land a heavy punch on the opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Dragon Rising Force (Rozan Sho Ryu Ha)

Shiryu builds up his Cosmo, emanating as a green aura around him, as he adopts his fighting pose. Then, he delivers a massive uppercut to the opponent’s chin, sending him/her flying upwards, with the attack’s aura adopting the shape of a dragon.

Dragon Shiryu (first cloth, armorless)

In a few battles, Shiryu has fought armorless, just like this. Although it’s not a separate character from the first cloth Shiryu but a palette swap instead, he has a different Big Bang attack, and thus is listed separately.

Big Bang Attack: Final Dragon Force (Rozan Ko Ryu Ha)

Shiryu grabs his opponent from behind and jumps to the sky, unleashing all his Cosmo. The result is both fighters engulfed in the aura of a dragon that ascends beyond the atmosphere. Being a suicidal technique in the anime, in the game the opponent is defeated no matter how much health he/she has but Shiryu manages to survive.

Dragon Shiryu (new cloth)

The first evolution of the Dragon Cloth. Repaired after the battle in Sanctuary with the blood of the Gold Saints.

Big Bang Attack: Excalibur

Shiryu raises his right arm, calling out to Shura to lend him his strength. His hand then takes the appearance of a sword, and he swings it down to the ground. The attack cuts the opponent in half (no worries, this isn’t Mortal Kombat, the opponent simply falls to the ground face first).

NOTE: Long range

Dragon Shiryu (final cloth)

The second evolution of the Dragon Cloth. Repaired after Hades attacked Sanctuary with Athena’s blood.

Big Bang Attack: Dragon Flight (Rozan Ryu Hi Sho)

Shiryu builds up his Cosmo, adopting his fighting pose. He then dashes towards the opponent engulfed in his Cosmo, taking the appearance of a dragon, and delivers a massive punch that sends the opponent flying.

NOTE: Medium range

Cygnus Hyoga (first cloth)

The first Cygnus Cloth.

Kol’tso: L2+Square

Hyoga extends his index finger before him, releasing an icy ring towards his target, leaving him/her stunned for a brief time. The ring doesn’t cover much distance, however.

Diamond Dust: Circle

Hyoga uses his right fist to unleash countless crystal ices on his opponent. Doesn’t have a long range.

Aurora Thunder Attack: L2+Circle

Hyoga’s own version of his master’s attack. He clasps his hands together and raises them above his head. He then hurls a big energy ball made of frost energy towards his opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Diamond Dust

Hyoga takes on his fighting pose as the Cygnus constellation shines behind him. He then charges his Cosmo on his right fist to unleash the attack and send the opponent flying.

Cygnus Hyoga (new cloth)

The first evolution of the Cygnus Cloth. Repaired after the battle in Sanctuary with the Gold Saints’ blood.

NOTE: selectable with or without his left eye bandaged

Big Bang Attack: Aurora Thunder Attack

Hyoga launches two energy balls into the sky, which in turn makes it snow all around. Hyoga then clasps his hands together and raises them above his head, charging the attack, which sends a massive ball of frost energy towards his opponent.

Cygnus Hyoga (final cloth)

The second evolution of the Cygnus Cloth. Repaired after Hades invaded Sanctuary with Athena’s blood.

NOTE: again, selectable with or without his left eye bandaged

Big Bang Attack: Aurora Execution

The stronger and original version of the Aurora Thunder Attack. Hyoga clasps his hands together and raises them above his head. He then charges his frost energy on them and unleashes a big shot towards his opponent. This time, the energy ball phases through the opponent, sending them flying in a different trajectory.

Unicorn Jabu

Unicorn Gallop: Circle

Jabu jumps high into the air to deliver a powerful kick while landing.

Unicorn Head: L2+Circle

Jabu jumps forward, performing a barrel roll, bashing his opponent with his head.

Big Bang Attack: Unicorn Gallop

Jabu jumps high, reaching to his opponent. He then delivers a barrage of kicks to his/her stomach, before delivering the final kick which sends the opponent to the ground.

Hydra Ichi

Mellow Poison: Circle

Ichi reaches out to his opponent with his right hand, hitting him with his poisonous claws. The opponent falls to his/her knees, stunned.

Splendid Fang: L2+Circle

Ichi places his right hand besides his hip, while he raises his left hand above his head. He then clasps them together, unleashing a projectile directed at the opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Mellow Poison

Ichi bombards his opponent with a variety of punches, before readying the claws on his right gauntlet and delivering a massive punch to the opponent’s gut to send him/her flying.

NOTE: Medium range

Eagle Marin

Meteor Punch (Ryusei Ken): Circle

The original technique which Seiya, being Marin’s apprentice, made his own. Marin unleashes a myriad of punches from his right hand, striking more than a dozen hits.

Eagle Toe Flash: L2+Circle

Marin jumps high into the air to deliver a powerful kick while falling.

Big Bang Attack: Eagle Toe Flash

Marin dashes towards her opponent and kicks him/her in the chin while doing a somersault. She then jumps even higher than her now airborne opponent to deliver a powerful kick to the opponent’s gut that makes him/her plummet to the ground, the impact unleashing a big explosion.

Ophiuchus Shina

Thunder Claw: Circle

Shina dashes towards the opponent, delivering two blows with both her hands, before a third and final one with her right hand that pins the opponent to the ground.

Claw Assault: L2+Circle

Similar to the aforementioned attack, this time Shina delivers five blows in a much more aggressive manner, before delivering the sixth and final blow with her left hand that sends the opponent flying.

Big Bang Attack: Thunder Claw

Shina concentrates her Cosmo on her right hand, raised above her head. This results in her hand being surrounded by an electrical aura. She then dashes towards the opponent to deliver a heavy north-south blow to the opponent, leaving him/her unconscious on the ground.

NOTE: Medium range

Lyra Orphée

It’s funny how he plays his lyre when charging up his Cosmo.

Stringer Fine: Circle

The strings from Orphée’s lyre form an intricate net before him.

Stringer Nocturne: L2+Circle

Orphée plays his lyre, the music forming an electric veil around him.

Big Bang Attack: Stringer Fine

Orphée dashes towards the opponent, and deploys a net formed by his lyre’s strings. The strings trap the opponent and shred him/her at Oprhée’s command.

Aries Mu

Starlight Extinction: L1+Square or Triangle

Mu uses his telekinetic powers to lift his opponent in the air, rendering him/her defenseless and unleashes the attack to send him/her directly to the other world. In the game, however, the attack simply warps the opponent behind Mu, hitting the ground head first.

Crystal Wall: Circle

Mu erects a nearly invisible wall before him created with his Cosmo.

Stardust Revolution: L2+Circle

Mu raises his right hand, gathering his Cosmo. He then lowers it, releasing what seems to be like comets directed at his opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Starlight Extinction

Mu jumps into the air, building up his Cosmo. He then unleashes it, emanating from his body in all directions. Upon being hit, the opponent is surrounded in a pillar of light, which sends him/her directly to the other world. Again, this works differently in the game, the opponent is simply warped up above the screen and falls to the ground head first.

Taurus Aldebaran

Great Horn: Circle

Standing with his arms folded, Aldebaran sends a powerful sound wave towards the opponent, seemingly not moving. In reality, he unfolds his arms so fast that the movement is not seen, but the consequences are clearly felt.

Great Horn: L2+Circle

Same attack, but this time Aldebaran charges towards its target and unleashes the attack with only his right hand.

Big Bang Attack: Great Horn

Aldebaran builds up all his Cosmo, concentrating it in his palms. Then, with a high speed movement, he sends a massive sound wave towards his opponent that sends him/her flying away.

Gemini Unknown

This Gemini Saint is actually an illusion, created by the true Gemini Saint. It is basically the armor being controlled telepathically, so there’s no body beneath it.

Another Dimension: Circle

Gemini creates an spherical void and hurls it into his opponent. If hit, the opponent is warped away from the stage to a high altitude, and falls off head first to the ground.

Another Dimension: L2+Circle

Same attack, but this time the void is created where the opponent is standing rather than hurled.

Big Bang Attack: Another Dimension

Gemini opens a rift between dimensions with all its power. The opponent is then sucked into this void, unable to escape. Fortunately, being just a game, the opponent only receives considerable damage and can continue fighting.

Gemini Saga

Saga had an internal conflict between good and evil. It was so huge that he eventually gained split personalities: his pure self, devoted to Athena with his natural blue hair and eyes, and his corrupted self, wanting to take over the world by killing Athena, which has light grey hair and blue eyes with a red sclerae.

Galaxian Explosion: Circle

Saga creates a bunch of “planets” with his Cosmo and launches them towards his opponent. Said “planets” land all over the stage instead of a single point, so getting more than one hit is very rare.

Another Dimension: L2+Circle

Saga creates a spherical void and hurls it into the opponent. If hit, the opponent is warped away from the stage, appearing at a high altitude, and falls to the ground head first.

Big Bang Attack: Galaxian Explosion

Saga builds up his Cosmo, and launches all the “planets” directed at the opponent. One of them hits the opponent head on, carrying him/her away.

Gemini Kanon

As the constellation they represent, there are always two Gemini Saints, twin brothers. Kanon is the youngest, so he was largely unknown for everyone in Sanctuary.

Galaxian Explosion: Circle

Kanon creates a bunch of “planets” and launches them from above towards the stage. They land scattered all over the stage, so even if the opponent doesn’t move, chances exist this attack may fail.

Another Dimension: L2+Circle

Kanon creates a spherical void and hurls it into the opponent. If hit, the opponent is warped away from the stage, appearing at a high altitude, and falls to the ground head first.

Big Bang Attack: Golden Triangle

Kanon draws a triangle with his right hand. Through the empty space of the triangle, Kanon sends the opponent into a dimensional rift, similar to the one created by Another Dimension.

Cancer Deathmask

Also available armorless, like first cloth Dragon Shiryu. His attacks don’t change, though.

Praesepe Underworld Waves (Sekishiki Meikai Ha): Circle

Deathmask sends a medium-ranged spiral wave with his right index finger directed at the opponent. In the anime, it directly sent the enemy into the Underworld, hence its name, but here it simply stuns the opponent so he/she falls to the ground head first.

Praesepe Demonic Blue Flames: L2+Circle

Deathmask raises his right index finger and summons the Ignis Fatuus to surround him.

Big Bang Attack: Praesepe Underworld Waves (Sekishiki Meikai Ha)

Deathmask sends an spiral wave towards the opponent with his right index finger. The opponent is then sucked through a hole in the ground into the Underworld, with Deathmask watching and smirking. He even laughs once the attack is over.

Leo Aiolia

Lightning Plasma: Circle

Aiolia launches a myriad of punches at the speed of light. Their trajectory trace an intricate net around the opponent.

Lightning Bolt: L2+Circle

Same principle as Seiya’s Comet Fist, Aiolia concentrates his Cosmo in a single blow. The electrical discharge leaves the opponent stunned.

Big Bang Attack: Lightning Plasma

Aiolia unleashes all his Cosmo, delivering countless punches at blinding speed. The heightened power becomes clear as the net created by the trajectory of the punches is way more prominent, even completely hiding the opponent from view.

Virgo Shaka

Shaka keeps his eyes closed in order to strengthen his Cosmo by voluntarily depriving himself of one of his senses. Whenever he opens them, his full power is unleashed.

Treasure of the Heavens (Tenbu Horin): Circle

Shaka summons Buddhist altarpieces to surround him.

Demon Pacifier (Tenma Kofuku): L2+Circle

Shaka levitates for a brief moment before unleashing the attack wherever the opponent is standing. It creates an X mark on the ground, from which a mystical light emanates.

Big Bang Attack: Treasure of the Heavens (Tenbu Horin)

Shaka opens his eyes, thus unleashing the totality of his Cosmo. Many Buddhist altarpieces appear in the background, as Shaka makes a gesture with his right hand to torture his opponent (in the anime, he instead deprives the enemy of all his senses) and a final gesture with both hands to send the opponent flying away.

Libra Dohko

Dragon Rising Force (Rozan Sho Ryu Ha): Circle

Dohko uppercuts the opponent, with his Cosmo unleashing the aura of a dragon rising to the sky.

One Hundred Dragon Force (Rozan Hyaku Ryu Ha): L2+Circle

Dohko builds up his Cosmo and sends a cluster of dragons against his opponent.

Big Bang Attack: One Hundred Dragon Force (Rozan Hyaku Ryu Ha)

Dohko builds up his Cosmo, gathering the dragons around him. He then gives the command to attack, and one by one, the dragons bash the opponent, badly beating him/her up.

Libra Shiryu

Dragon Rising Force (Rozan Sho Ryu Ha): Circle

Shiryu uppercuts the opponent, with his Cosmo unleashing the aura of a dragon rising to the sky.

Dragon Flight (Rozan Ryu Hi Sho): L2+Circle

A variant of the aforementioned attack, this time displayed horizontally. Shiryu dashes forward, surrounded by the aura of the dragon, to land a heavy punch on the opponent.

Big Bang Attack: One Hundred Dragon Force (Rozan Hyaku Ryu Ha)

Shiryu builds up his Cosmo as he prepares to launch the attack, with the dragons surrounding him. He finally gives the command to attack, and one by one, the dragons bash the opponent.

Scorpio Milo

Restriction: L1+Square or Triangle

Milo uses his Cosmo to paralyze his opponent. Here, Milo unleashes his Cosmo as small waves launched from his eyes, which create binding circles on the opponent before striking with a less powerful Scarlet Needle.

Scarlet Needle: Circle

Milo dashes towards the opponent, and delivers a critical hit with his right index finger that leaves the opponent stunned for a brief while.

Scarlet Needle - Antares: L2+Circle

Same attack, but this time Milo can launch the attack as an energy shock. Technically, Scarlet Needle comprises 14 hits while drawing the Scorpio Constellation on the opponent’s body, with Antares being the final 15th hit.

Big Bang Attack: Scarlet Needle – Antares

Milo points his right index finger towards the opponent, as he fires a small red energy beam that zigzags for a while before reaching the opponent. It is a critical hit that lands on the center of the opponent’s torso, effectively killing him/her after the first 14 hits of Scarlet Needle (in the anime, that is).

NOTE: Medium-long range

Sagittarius Aiolos

Atomic Thunderbolt: Circle

A more powerful version of the Meteor Fist, however Aiolos doesn’t launch the punches as disperse as Seiya or Marin do, thus resulting in a much bigger combo (+15 hits at medium range) and a lot more damage is dealt.

Sagittarius’ Golden Arrow: L2+Circle

Aiolos takes out the cloth’s golden bow and arrow, aiming at the opponent. The arrow, upon fired, flies directly to the opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Atomic Thunderbolt

Using the cloth’s wings, Aiolos flies up to the sky. He then unleashes the attack, bombarding the opponent with countless punches at the speed of light.

Sagittarius Seiya

Pegasus Rolling Crush: L1+Square/Triangle

Seiya grabs his opponent from behind and jumps into the air, performing a barrel roll, before plummeting to the ground head first.

Pegasus Meteor Fist (Pegasus Ryusei Ken): Circle

Seiya unleashes a myriad of punches at the speed of sound, which take the appearance of meteors or falling stars. Capable of striking a dozen of hits if performed at point blank range.

Sagittarius’ Golden Arrow: L2+Circle

Seiya takes out the cloth’s golden bow and arrow, aiming at the opponent. The arrow, upon fired, flies directly to the opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Sagittarius’ Golden Arrow

Mimicking the attack he unleashed against Poseidon, Seiya readies the golden arrow as he pleads his Cosmo to do a miracle (against Poseidon, Seiya failed to land a hit with the arrow several times, as the god effortlessly turned the arrow against Seiya himself over and over). He then fires the arrow, piercing through the opponent’s torso.

Capricorn Shura

Uses the anime helmet, instead of the manga one.

Jumping Stone: L1+Square or Triangle

Shura hops onto the opponent, grabbing him/her by the armpits with his feet, and flipping him/her over his head.

Excalibur: Circle

Shura launches a sharp blast with his Cosmo, cutting whatever comes in its way. The trail of Cosmo it leaves behind also damages the opponent, who is left stunned.

Millennium Blade: L2+Circle

Shura unleashes many blasts from both his arms in short range.

Big Bang Attack: Jumping Stone

Shura jumps onto the opponent, and flips him/her over his head with his full force. As Shura calmly lands, the opponent hits the ground head first behind him.

Aquarius Camus

Kol’tso: L2+Square

Camus extends his index finger before him, releasing an icy ring towards his target, leaving him/her stunned for a brief time. Contrary to his students’ versions, this one has a long range, albeit it travels very slowly.

Freezing Coffin: Circle

Camus raises his right hand, erecting a “barrier” of frost energy that damages any nearby opponent.

Aurora Execution: L2+Circle

Camus clasps his hands together and raises them above his head. He then unleashes a stream of frost energy, reminiscent of an aurora, towards his opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Aurora Execution

Camus clasps his hands together above his head, taking a pose reminiscent of a vase, which appears in the background. Hyoga uses his right fist to unleash countless crystal ices on his opponent. Doesn’t have a long range.

Hyoga’s own version of his master’s attack. He clasps his hands together and raises them above his head. He then hurls a big energy ball made of frost energy towards his opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Aurora Execution

Hyoga clasps his hands over his head, as he gathers his frost Cosmo in his fists. He then lowers his arms, ready to fire an enormous energy ball towards the opponent, freezing him/her completely.

Pisces Aphrodite

Royal Demon Rose: Circle

Aphrodite unleashes his red roses, hurling a cluster of them towards the opponent.

Piranhan Rose: L2+Circle

Aphrodite unleashes his black roses, which surround him for a few seconds before launching themselves at the opponent.

Pegasus Seiya (God Cloth)

Seiya’s original Bronze Cloth taken to its highest level. Its power and resistance are far greater than a Gold Cloth, even beyond minor deities.

Pegasus Rolling Crush: L1+Square/Triangle

Seiya grabs his opponent from behind and jumps into the air, performing a barrel roll, before plummeting to the ground head first.

Pegasus Meteor Fist (Pegasus Ryusei Ken): Circle

Pegasus Comet Fist (Pegasus Suisei Ken): L2+Circle

A stronger version of the Meteor Fist. Instead of launching a barrage of punches, Seiya concentrates them in a single blow, which takes a shape reminiscent of a comet.

Big Bang Attack: Pegasus Comet Fist - Real (Pegasus Suisei Ken)

Seiya bashes the opponent, and then unleashes a massive Pegasus Meteor Fist against him/her. Far from done, Seiya jumps into the sky and flies towards the lying opponent to deliver a heavy Pegasus Comet Fist with all his Cosmo. NOTE: Medium Range

Purifying Light: L2+Circle

Athena raises her staff and sends a myriad of projectiles through it directed at the opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Athena’s Staff

Athena raises her staff, which transforms into a javelin of sorts. She then sends it towards the opponent, impulse by her Cosmo. The javelin impales the opponent, and creates a massive explosion. Afterwards, the staff seemingly teleports itself back to Athena’s side, who turns her back on her opponent.

NOTE: The attack projects a light over the opponent before starting, no matter where they are, so this attack is sure to hit.

POSEIDON

Poseidon has his own army of soldiers, known as Marinas, equipped with Scales. The strongest of them all are the Generals, said to be on par with Athena’s Gold Saints.

Sea Horse Baian

Worth noting is how he uses his Air Barrier to defend himself while guarding.

God Breath: Circle

Baian shoots his breath at the opponent, which results in a powerful and destructive gale.

Rising Billows: L2+Circle

Baian shoots a tidal wave directed at the opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Rising Billows

Scylla Io

Taking on the myth of Scylla, this Scale has six weapons attached to it, making Io the character with most attacks in the game.

Queen Bee’s Stinger: L2+Square

Chrysaor Krishna

Flashing Lancer: Circle

Krishna charges onto the opponent and delivers a dozen of hits with his lance.

Sonic Lancer: L2+Circle

Krishna delivers half a dozen strikes with his lance, this time standing still on his spot.

Big Bang Attack: Maha Roshini

Krishna takes on a meditation stance and floats. As he builds up his Cosmo, he floats even higher, looming over the opponent. He starts sending out weak waves, and then unleashes the totality of the attack as an energy dome.

Limnade Caça

Salamander Charge: Circle

Caça charges at the opponent, concentrating his electric energy in his palms.

Thunder Veil: L2+Circle

Caça creates an electric energy dome around him, damaging any nearby opponent.

NOTE: Medium range

Kraken Isaak

Dragon Ball fans like me will notice that Isaak has the same voice actor as Frieza.

Kol’tso: L2+Square

Isaak extends his index finger before him, releasing an icy ring towards his target, leaving him/her stunned for a brief time. The ring doesn’t cover much distance, however.

Diamond Dust: Circle

Isaak uses his right fist to unleash countless crystal ices on his opponent. Doesn’t have a long range, but still capable of striking a dozen of hits.

Aurora Borealis: L2+Circle

Isaak concentrates his Cosmo between his clasped hands, and unleashes an energy beam shining like an aurora.

Big Bang Attack: Aurora Borealis

Isaak builds up his Cosmo between his clasped hands. He then unleashes a massive rainbow energy beam, reminiscent of an aurora. He keeps the stream up for a while, badly injuring the opponent. Strangely, the attack ends quite abruptly, like if it was no effort for Isaak.

Sea Dragon Kanon

Kanon’s first identity when debuting in the series. He can be selected with or without his helmet.

Galaxian Explosion: Circle

Kanon creates a bunch of “planets” and launches them from above towards the stage. They land scattered all over the stage, so even if the opponent doesn’t move, chances exist this attack may fail.

Golden Triangle: L2+Circle

Kanon draws a triangle with his right hand. He then sends out triangular waves onto the opponent that warp him/her above the screen, falling to the ground head first.

Big Bang Attack: Golden Triangle

Kanon draws a triangle with his right hand. Through the empty space of the triangle, Kanon sends the opponent into a dimensional rift, similar to the one created by Another Dimension.

Siren Sorrento

Funny to note how he actually walks forward, playing his flute, while charging his Cosmo.

Dead End Symphony: Circle

Sorrento plays his flute, sending out a short ranged sound wave that puts the enemy into an eternal sleep.

Dead End Climax: L2+Circle

Sorrento again plays his flute, but this time it creates a small energy field that damages any nearby opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Dead End Climax

Sorrento starts playing his flute, making the opponent kneel in pain and unsuccessfully covering their ears to stop the attack. Sorrento then reaches the climax of his song, which sends a powerful sound wave that knocks out the opponent.

Poseidon

Poseidon’s Trident: Circle

Maelstrom: L2+Circle

Poseidon plants the hilt of his trident in the ground, creating a massive water tornado on the spot that sucks the enemy up.

HADES

Originally, Hades’ army is comprised of more than 100 soldiers, known as Specters. In this game, however, the reincarnated Gold Saints are the only Specters to appear. Under Hades’ command, there are also the Three Judges of Hell, the strongest Specters, rivalling or even surpassing the Gold Saints. Two minor deities like Thanatos (god of death) and Hypnos (god of sleep) also follow Hades’ orders. All soldiers under Hades’ rule wear a special armor called Surplice.

Gemini Saga

Galaxian Explosion: Circle

Saga creates a bunch of “planets” with his Cosmo and launches them towards his opponent. Said “planets” land all over the stage instead of a single point, so getting more than one hit is very rare.

Another Dimension: L2+Circle

Saga creates a spherical void and hurls it into the opponent. If hit, the opponent is warped away from the stage, appearing at a high altitude, and falls to the ground head first.

Big Bang Attack: Another Dimension

Saga raises his hands over his head, and lowers them while unleashing his Cosmo. He creates a rift between dimensions, sucking his opponent inside the void.

Capricorn Shura

Strangely enough, uses the manga helmet.

Jumping Stone: L1+Square or Triangle

Shura hops onto the opponent, grabbing him/her by the armpits with his feet, and flipping him/her over his head.

Big Bang Attack: Excalibur

Shura raises his right arm, which takes the form of a blade. He then swings it down, sending out a sharp blast that cuts the opponent in two vertical halves (no grueling scenes here, just the blast passing through the opponent and killing him/her).

NOTE: Long range

Cancer Deathmask

Upon doing this, the white rose gradually turns red, at which point the opponent falls to the ground, dead. The attack ends with the opponent lying face up on the ground over a bed of rose petals, with the now red bloody rose in his/her chest.

NOTE: Medium-long range

Aries Shion

Mu’s master, former Aries Saint before being declared Pope by Athena in the last Holy War. Killed by Saga’s evil side 13 years before the start of the series.

Starlight Extinction: L1+Square or Triangle

Shion uses his telekinetic powers to lift his opponent in the air, rendering him/her defenseless and unleashes the attack to send him/her directly to the other world. In the game, however, the attack simply warps the opponent behind Shion, hitting the ground head first.

Don’t Panic Kids: Circle

Shion creates a special barrier with his Cosmo, damaging any opponent it catches. In the anime, this wasn’t a true attack, since it was a mere beating up of Shion against the four main Bronze Saints.

Stardust Revolution: L2+Circle

Shion raises his right hand, gathering his Cosmo. He then lowers it, releasing what seems to be like comets directed at his opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Crystal Wall

The opponent readies an attack. Shion, however, mutters his opponent is a fool for thinking he/she can really attack him. He then erects his Crystal Wall, which redirects the attack back at the opponent.

NOTE: How amazing it is for the most powerful move of a character to be a defensive technique.

Wyvern Rhadamanthys

Greatest Caution: Circle

In a Kamehameha fashion, Rhadamanthys unleashes a myriad of energy balls, a move pretty similar (yet again) with the Meteor Punch. Capable of striking nearly 20 times.

Final Judgement: L2+Circle

A move very similar to Aiolia’s Lightning Plasma. Rhadamanthys unleashes a myriad of punches with his right fist to create an energy net to damage his opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Greatest Caution

Rhadamanthys builds up his Cosmo, denoted by a small energy ball on his forehead. He then charges an energy ball, from which it sends countless more towards the opponent, beating him/her to death.

Griffon Minos

Hell Diver: Circle

Minos bashes the opponent with his head, flying thanks to his Surplice’s wings.

Cosmic Marionetion: L2+Circle

Minos extends strings from his fingertips to attack the opponent.

Big Bang Attack: Cosmic Marionetion

Minos uses his strings to capture his opponent. Lifting him/her into the air, he does a swift movement to seemingly break all of his opponent’s bones.

Aiacos launches his opponent upwards, then draws an X mark on the ground with his foot where the opponent crashes head first moments after.

Galactica Illusion: Circle

Aiacos simply projects big demonic eyeballs before him that open after a brief time and disappear moments after that.

Aiacos unleashes dozens of the aforementioned eyeballs as a stream to damage his opponent at long ranges.

Big Bang Attack: Galactica Illusion

Aiacos raises his hands above his head, projecting a ton of big demonic eyeballs above the stage. Claiming his opponent has lost, the eyeballs open, staring at the opponent. Aiacos then lowers his hands, unleashing an air current mixed with his dark Cosmo at blinding speed that lifts the opponent high into the air (even above the eyeballs, who follow him/her) until Aiacos’ Cosmo creates a big explosion. The eyeballs then disappear, with the opponent nowhere to be seen.

Thanatos

Terrible Providence: Circle

Thanatos charges his Cosmo between his hands and unleashes it as a stream of light purple electricity directed at the opponent.

Invisible Force: L2+Circle

Thanatos creates a big energy ball above his head and hurls it at his opponent. Despite the name, the attack is clearly visible.

Big Bang Attack: Terrible Providence

Thanatos builds up his Cosmo, unleashing it as a massive stream of light purple electricity. He puts all his power in the attack, denoted in his scream. The attack ends with the opponent nowhere to be seen, seemingly obliterated by such potency. Nothing less expected form the god of death.

Hypnos

Eternal Drowsiness: Circle

An attack very similar to Shaka’s Treasure of the Heavens. Hypnos summons several altarpieces to surround him.

Nightmare: L2+Circle

Hypnos charges a small energy ball and hurls it at the opponent. The ball is transparent, so maybe this attack should have been named Invisible Force instead.

Big Bang Attack: Eternal Drowsiness

Hypnos charges his divine Cosmo, and creates a vacuum field where his opponent falls into a deep slumber, sleeping for all eternity. The enemy falls to the ground while Hypnos gives his back. Again, as expected from the god of sleep.

Hades

Hell’s Blade: Circle

Hades grabs his sword with both his hands, raising it above his head. He then strikes it down, with his Cosmo enlarging the blade to an enormous size as it falls down.

Somber Thrust: L2+Circle

Hades charges against the opponent, stabbing him/her with his sword before delivering a final south-north slash.

Big Bang Attack: Greatest Eclipse

The Greatest Eclipse is Hades’ plan to plunge the whole Earth into darkness. In this game, he uses it to cover the stage in a thick jet-black fog. Burning with power, he delivers a few slashes here and there before unleashing his Cosmo in all directions.

Big Bang Attack: Pegasus Meteor Fist (Pegasus Ryusei Ken)

Seiya’s aura takes the form of a Pegasus, and he unleashes countless punches against his opponent. The attack ends with the opponent crashing into the ground head-first behind Seiya.

Phoenix Ikki (first cloth)

The first version of the Phoenix Cloth. In the anime, the helmet was given some kind of eye mask, but it probably was so Ikki could hide his identity when posing as the first antagonist, since it was never seen after he allied with Athena.

Gemini opens a rift between dimensions with all its power. The opponent is then sucked into this void, unable to escape. Fortunately, being just a game, the opponent only receives considerable damage and can continue fighting.

Gemini Saga

Saga had an internal conflict between good and evil. Galaxian Explosion: Circle

Saga creates a bunch of “planets” with his Cosmo and launches them towards his opponent. Said “planets” land all over the stage instead of a single point, so getting more than one hit is very rare.

Also available armorless, like first cloth Dragon Shiryu. His attacks don’t change, though.

Praesepe Underworld Waves (Sekishiki Meikai Ha): Circle

Shaka opens his eyes, thus unleashing the totality of his Cosmo. Many Buddhist altarpieces appear in the background, as Shaka makes a gesture with his right hand to torture his opponent (in the anime, he instead deprives the enemy of all his senses) and a final gesture with both hands to send the opponent flying away.
