Mario Party Advanced: The Mario Party designed exclusively for single player.

A small note: The find system I usually employ during these guides is not
here. Instead, if you want to find something specific, search by the name of
the quest or mini-game to get to what you're looking for faster.

--------------------
Introduction
--------------------

Hello again, sonikku here with another guide. I don't actually have any
experience with this game from the past, though I have seen someone stream it.
From what I've seen of it, it looks like what Mario Party would've been if it
were made solely as a single player game. While that may not seem exciting, to
someone who has never had any local friends to play Mario Party 1 and 3 with
together (the only ones I've ever owned), this wouldn't be much of a different
experience for me.

--------------------
About This Game
--------------------

This game is a bit weird for a Mario Party game. Basically, Bowser is causing
havoc again and has scattered the mini-games and Gaddgets (because E. Gadd) to
the four winds, and you have to go hunting for them. With the weird things the
Gaddgets do, you may as well have just slapped WarioWare Inc. on the logo and
sold it as a Wario game... if it weren't for the fact you have to keep helping
people, which totally cramps his style.

To get a number of the games and Gaddgets back, you have to wander around
Shroom Town and do favors for people, including favors for and battles with
Bowser and the Koopa Kids. There are 50 quests in total through various parts
of Shroom City. Some are relatively simple, others may have you going on a
fetch quest clear on the other side of the game board, and still others
require you to simply be playing as a specific character. Any games you don't
unlock through questing may instead be found roaming the board when you're
given the opportunity to earn more turns, while any Gaddgets you can't earn
questing may be purchased in the shop.

--------------------
Moving About
--------------------

Moving about in this game is a bit different than what you're used to in
regular Mario Party games. You still hit a d6 (that should really be a d10)
and move the number shown, but... moving around on the board is in more of a
Sonic Shuffle style: you aren't forced to one set path, you can even move over
the spaces you just moved past on the previous turn. Rolling the dice block
also consumes a mushroom, of which you get 5 to start. Run out of these, and
you go back to start and lose the progress gained on your current quest. Each
character starts in a different location, as follows:

Mario : Town Area
luigi : Seaside Area
peach : Jungle Area
Yoshi: Horror Area

...yeah, there's only 4 characters. Don't know why, guess they didn't have
enough memory for Wario, DK, Waluigi, and whoever else was in Mario Party 3.
Anyway, when you come to a stop, you'll land on one of varying spaces, or may
even be interrupted by Koopa Kid and challenged to a mini-game or Roshambo, or
even warped to a random space on the map (these interruptions do not end your
movement, and you continue as normal after the event). These are the potential
spaces you can land on:

Empty space: Nothing happens.
Red space with a -: Minus space. Lose 1 mushroom.
M space: Tumbl or Koopa Kid will appear and challenge you to a mini-game.
D6: Roll again for free.
-- Point of interest. Consumes no space when traveled on, but you may opt to
end your movement early on these and trigger the relevant event or quest.

While avoiding - spaces is pretty easy on the main board, traveling through
one of Bowser's pipes (required for 8 of the quests) will send you to an area
where there's nothing but these spaces, as many as 5 in a row. These areas are
pretty dangerous to enter with few mushrooms, so it may be worthwhile to roam
an area nearby for a while to try and grind up mushrooms before going there.
Additionally, every 3 turns, Tumbl will appear and spin the roulette for a
mini-game. Usually, winning one will net you 3 mushrooms, but sometimes he may
up the reward to 6 (effectively netting you some buffer).

--------------------
The Quests
--------------------

Quest formatting will be done like so:

Quest: Name of quest
Where: The name of the point of interest
Area: What area the stop is in.
Who: Who has the reward.
Requirements: Character or progress requirements listed here.
Task: What you have to do.
Reward: The name of the mini-game or Gaddget given to you.
And underneath all this is the step by step for completing the quest.

Quest: True-Blue Boo
Where: Boo Cemetery
Area: Horror Area
Who: The Boo Trio
Requirements: None.
Task: Find who stole the statue.
Reward: Predictotron (Gaddget)
This one's pretty simple, you don't have to do anything special. One of these
things is not like the other. Who's falling out of step? Solve the mystery,
the quest is done, just like that.

Quest: Mustached Hero!
Where: Spear Thicket
Area: Jungle Area
Who: Spear Guy
Requirements: Mario or Luigi (looking for a mustache)
Task: Clear a mini-game.
Reward: Tank-Down (mini-game)
Simply clear the Duel mini-game. See the mini-games section for details.

Quest: Love That Princess!
Where: Mr. I
Area: Horror Area
Who: Mr. I
Requirements: Peach
Task: None.
Reward: Hope Chest (Gaddget)
Literally just go here as Princess Peach. *presses easy button*

Quest: Condo of Mystery!
Where: Horror Condo, 2nd Floor
Area: Horror Area
Who: Snifit
Requirements: None.
Task: Get the Boo Trio to haunt Horror Condo.
Reward: Porta-Gust (Gaddget)
A fetch quest. Go to the graveyard and tell the boos to haunt Horror Condo,
then return. Relatively easy, only a couple mushrooms away. (Note: Running out
of turns will reset all quest progress. Make sure you have enough.)

Quest: Cool as Ice
Where: Ice Stadium
Area: Snow Area
Who: Mr. Blizzard
Requirements: None.
Task: Hit a home run off Mr. Blizzard.
Reward: Mini Slugger (Gaddget)
It's a timing game. Time your swing well, you'll launch one. Simple. Fouls do
not count as a hit, and you only get 5 pitches. Listen well to what he says,
as he tells you the pitch you'll get.

Quest: Engaging Game
Where: Ice Game Room
Area: Snow Area
Who: Penguin
Requirements: None.
Task: Clear the mini-game.
Reward: Drop 'Em (mini-game)
Hope you're good at Pachinko. All you have to do is get a 1 coin profit. See
the mini-games section for details.

Quest: DVD for Me
Where: Horror Condo, 1st Floor
Area: Horror Area
Who: Ninji
Requirements: None.
Task: Grab a Toad Force V DVD.
Reward: Tile Trial (Gaddget)
A fetch quest, but the guy you're running to is a decent ways away from the
condo. You may want to stockpile a couple mushrooms if you don't fancy your
chances of getting there. Your destination is the first floor of Mushroom
Condo, in the Town Area. You can (and probably should) ask him about Toad
Force V while you're there, as the information he gives will be of use later.
I find it funny that this guy has all 50 copies of a limited edition DVD. And
I thought I was a nerd...

Quest: Big Boss Bob-omb
Where: Mushroom Condo, mystery fifth option.
Area: Town Area
Who: Big Bob-omb
Requirements: None.
Task: Beat Big Bob-omb's d10 roll 3 times.
Reward: Stress Press (Gaddget)
It's best out of 5 and is dependent on luck. If you get bad luck, just try
again next turn.

Quest: Kamek Krew Live!
Where: Mushroom Condo, 2nd floor
Area: Town Area
Who: The Kamek Krew
Requirements: None.
Task: Get the Krew a venue.
Reward: Bull's-eye (Gaddget)
Just head to Mushroom Stadium out in the desert, tell the bullet bill they
want to play there, and return. Simple.

Quest: Nerd Force V
Where: Horror Condo, Basement
Area: Horror Area
Who: Lantern Ghost
Requirements:
Task: Grab a Toad Force V doll and return.
Reward: Poochy Pal (Gaddget)
Just like the task says. Go to the Item Shop in the Town Area, grab a Toad
Force V doll, and return.

Quest: Flowers Are a Blast
Where: Bob-omba
Area: Town Area
Who: Bob-omba
Requirements: None
Task: Find a flower in the desert.
Reward: Rochambeau (Gaddget)
Weird as this sounds, you'll need to go to the Piranha Plant in the Desert
Area to find the flower she wants. Don't worry, they won't bite. Much.
Completing this quest has Bob-omba tell you about where Big Bob-omb is, but...
mystery fifth option is kind of appealing if you see that first.

Quest: Probably a Robbery?
Where: Koopa Bank
Area: Town Area
Who: Koopa
Requirements: None
Task: Find out who robbed the bank.
Reward: Card Trick (Gaddget)
This is fun. Three different fetch quests. Go talk to Mr. I at his place in
Horror Area, Goombob at Goombob Manor in Town Area, and Paratroopa at the Item
Shop in Town Area. When you've done that, return to Koopa Bank and tell them
Paratroopa did it, as he saw a gleam of light from the coins in a room with no
light at any point during the power outage.

By the way, don't steal someone's money as a practical joke. You could go to
jail for petty theft doing that.

Quest: Accessorize!
Where: Goombob Manor
Area: Town Area
Who: Goombob
Requirements: None
Task: Find a lovely seashell.
Reward: Dessert Menu (Gaddget)
This guy really wants you to go well out of the way for his little gift. Head
to the far south of the map to Sandy Beach in the Seaside Area, grab a
seashell, and return to him.

Quest: Weeping Thwomp
Where: Thwomp House
Area: Town Area
Who: Thwomp
Requirements: None
Task: Figure out how the thief got in his house.
Reward: Eye Exam (Gaddget)
So... if Thwomp is bigger than the door, how does he get out of his house?
Heck, how did he get IN the house in the first place?

Prank calling the police is also a crime, by the way.

Quest: Find the Password
Where: Bob-omb Avenue
Area: Town Area
Who: Bob-omb
Requirements: None
Task: See quest name.
Reward: Shroom Slide (Gaddget)
This one's a relatively short fetch quest. Get a Bob-omb Figure at the item
shop and return with the password. It's Baboom (not Baboon) if you forgot it.
Completing this quest also reveals some information about where Big Bob-omb
is, telling you to pick the very lowest floor you can in one of thelocations.
Like I said, mystery fifth option is very enticing.

Quest: Chomper Stomper
Where: Chain Chomp
Area: Town Area
Who: Chain Chomp
Requirements: None
Task: Beat the mini-game
Reward: Chain Saw (mini-game)
See the mini-games section for details.

Quest: Kind Goomba
Where: Goomba House
Area: Town Area
Who: Goomba
Requirements: None
Task: Get a ticket from the train station.
Reward: Egg Roll (Gaddget)
The train station is only three spaces from the Goomba House, so barring a
roll of two (or a 1 and another 1 on the free roll), you shouldn't need more
than one mushroom to get there. Get the ticket and return.

Quest: Locomotionless
Where: Train Station
Area: Town Area
Who: Shy-Guy
Requirements: None
Task: Find some coal for the train.
Reward: Cake Maker (Gaddget)
It's not being sold at a shop, but apparently you can get some out of one of
those weird Japanese vending machines in the Town Area. Lame pun warning.

Quest: Hey, UFO!
Where: Mushroom Condo, Rooftop
Area: Town Area
Who: Propeller Guy
Requirements: None
Task: Mimic Propeller Guy's motions to summon a UFO.
Reward: Morse Maker (Gaddget)
There's a bit of leeway on this event, you can be a bit off or accidentally
make the wrong move as long as you recover quickly enough and still pass.

Quest: Hearts A-Flutter
Where: Mushroom Condo: 3rd Floor
Area: Town Area
Who: Flutter
Requirements: None
Task: Tell Mr. I about Flutter's crush.
Reward: Love Me Not (Gaddget)
Mr. I's a pretty good ways away, but it's not too bad to get there and back.
The reward for this is fitting, I suppose.

Quest: Losing Streak
Where: Town Game Room B
Area: Town Area
Who: Amp
Requirements: None
Task: Make at least a 1 coin profit in the mini-game.
Reward: Match 'Em (mini-game)
See the mini-games section for details.

Quest: Winners Keepers
Where: Town Game Room A
Area: Town Area
Who: Monty Mole
Requirements: None
Task: Make at least a 1 coin profit in the mini-game.
Reward: Scratch 'Em (mini-game)
See the mini-games section for details.

Quest: What's That Line
Where: Lakitu House
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Lakitu
Requirements: None
Task: Find out the line Lakitu forgot.
Reward: Bait 'n Wait (Gaddget)
Ya know, I find it weird that someone can quote the entirety of a series...
except the single most famous line in it. Well, we know a guy who's all into
Toad Force V, who owns all 50 of the limited edition DVDs, so we should go see
that nerd in the first floor of Mushroom Condo about that line from episode
28. (Man, why does Seaside Area have to be so far out of the way of anywhere?)
Small suggestion: Commit that line to memory yourself. It may come up later.

Quest: Swimmin' Wimp
Where: Mushroom Pool
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Cheep Cheep's swimming coach.
Requirements: None
Task: Allow Cheep Cheep to beat you in a swimming race... naturally.
Reward: Desktop Golf (Gaddget)
Try to stay with the Cheep Cheep, but don't always stay in last place. Let him
take the initial lead, stay a little behind him and slow when he slows, speed
when he speeds. At some point, he'll begin to completely flounder, so take the
lead there, but don't get too far ahead. He'll recover near the end, so
flounder around a bit to let him catch up (leave yourself a bit of room to
keep a little speed), then finish within a second or two behind him. This
quest felt like a nice change of pace for me compared to the others I'd done.

Quest: Comedy Bomb
Where: Mario Vaudeville
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Dolphin
Requirements: None
Task: Play the role of Tidus from Final Fantasy X. (HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!)
Reward: Snow Globe (Gaddget)
Laugh at the punch lines to get more dolphins to appear. He tells two jokes,
and you need to get both of them correct. Press A on "You should never EVER
take it outside" and "Forget the questions, give me the answers!" to win. I
know, I know, these jokes are terrible, but humor him so you never have to
hear them again.

Quest: Mathemagician
Where: Mushroom Library
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Mechakoopa
Requirements: None
Task: Solve for x.
Reward: Castle Night (Gaddget)
Mechakoopa asks these questions in an algebraic manner, though it only really
requires basic math to solve. The first one is 10 + x = 1000. Subtract 10 from
both sides, you get x = 990. The second is 10x = 1000. (10x means 10 times the
value of x, for those who don't know.) Divide both sides of the equation by
10, x = 100. The last one is 10x = 0. Multiplying anything by 0 gives 0, so
the answer here is simply 0. Not that hard. ^_~

Quest: Duel Tower, 1F
Where: Duel Tower
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Whomp
Requirements: None
Task: Win the Duel mini-game.
Reward: Stair Scare (mini-game)
Duelists greet each other with Chaaaarge! See the mini-game section for more
details. Winning advances to the next floor immediately.

Quest: Duel Tower, 2F
Where: Duel Tower
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Salvo
Requirements: Clear Duel Tower, 1F
Task: Win the Duel mini-game.
Reward: Volleybomb (mini-game)
See the mini-game section for more details. Winning advances to the next floor
immediately.

Quest: Duel Tower, 3F
Where: Duel Tower
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Mouser
Requirements: Clear Duel Tower, 2F
Task: Win the Duel mini-game.
Reward: Chicken! (mini-game)
See the mini-game section for more details.

Quest: Sploosh!
Where: Sushi Cliff
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Sushi
Requirements: None
Task: Deduce who tried to off Shroomlock.
Reward: Digitizer (Gaddget)
...um... I don't remember Sushi being a shark, but okay... Apparently someone
has it in for ol' Shroomlock Holmes, as someone pulled him into the sea. Thank
goodness Sushi saved us the running around by interviewing them. The only one
of these suspects who could have feasibly pulled him into the sea is Blooper,
as nobody else has the reach.

Shroomlock seems to let people off way too easily in this world. It's going to
become a crook's haven at this rate.

Quest: Blooper Battle
Where: Mushroom Beacon
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Blooper
Requirements: None
Task: Win the Duel mini-game
Reward: Hammergeddon (mini-game)
This is where you learn duelists greet each other with Chaaaarge!. See the
mini-game section for more details.

Quest: Treasure of Mystery!
Where: Klepto Ruins
Area: Desert Area (reach from Seaside Area)
Who: Klepto
Requirements: None
Task: Guess the combination.
Reward: Map Maker (Gaddget)
This pun is terrible. His favorite word is for. For sounds like four. And he
says it four times. So the combination is 4444. (Also, if you fail, he
blatantly tells you how bad you screwed up. "What was I stuttering
for-for-for-for?")

I wonder if Mr. E realized he just ran off the top floor of a tower.

Quest: Game Mage
Where: The Hammer
Area: Desert Area
Who: Kamek
Requirements: None
Task: Find the game mage, then make at least a 1 coin profit in the mini-game.
Reward: Pair 'Em (mini-game)
"This mighty hammer can carry you far. Master the spin, and soar over
pyramids." The Hammer Camp teaches you how to throw hammers well. Mash A and B
alternately to spin. Succeed, you go flying. Fail, the hammer does. See the
mini-game section for more details.

Quest: A Speeding Bill
Where: Mushroom Stadium
Area: Desert Area
Who: Bullet Bill
Requirements: None
Task: Outrun Bullet Bill.
Reward: Mini Soccer (Gaddget)
Become Superman. Be faster than a speeding bullet in a hundred meter dash.
This one requires a good bit more mashing speed than most mash A events, so be
ready to give it your all for this.

Quest: Hammerama
Where: Mushroom Field
Area: Desert Area
Who: Hammer Bro
Requirements: None
Task: Outthrow a Hammer Bro in the Hammer Toss.
Reward: Mini B-Ball (Gaddget)
Quickly mash A and B alternately. That's all there is to it.

Quest: Mysterious Riddles
Where: Pokey
Area: Desert Area
Who: Pokey
Requirements: None
Task: Solve the riddles.
Reward: Tap-Tap Sumo (Gaddget)
Mario golfs, parties, and rides karts. Bowser has spikes, temper, and a fiery
breath. Luigi is green and related to red.

Quest: Blossom of My Heart
Where: Petal House
Area: Jungle Area
Who: Flower Guy
Requirements: None
Task: Tell Flutter about Flower Guy's feelings.
Reward: Bead Machine (Gaddget)
Ugh... gotta go halfway across the map for this one. You may want to wait
until you're leaving Jungle Area to do this one, since Flower Guy does NOT
require you to return to his place to turn it in. Flutter is in the 3rd floor
of Mushroom Condo, in the Town Area.

Quest: Monkeynapping!?
Where: Ukiki House
Area: Jungle Area
Who: Akiki, Ukiki
Requirements: None
Task: Figure out where Akiki's uncle was monkeynapped to.
Reward: Mini Maze (Gaddget)
"I AM AT THE LAKE" is the clue. So go to Loch Dorrie. Simply finding Ukiki
will complete the quest, no need to report back.

Quest: Dino of Mystery!
Where: Loch Dorrie
Area: Jungle Area
Who: Dorrie
Requirements: Yoshi only
Task: Automatic.
Reward: Soil Sonar (Gaddget)
Simply being Yoshi and coming here while not on a quest will complete this
one. May as well do it right after finishing Monkeynapping, since it puts you
right here. Assuming you did Monkeynapping as Yoshi, of course.

Quest: Jungle Jive
Where: Dance Stage
Area: Jungle Area
Who: Hulu (no, not the video streaming service)
Requirements: None
Task: Dance the night away.
Reward: Mini Bowling (Gaddget)
It's basically Simon Says. D-pad means any direction on it.

Quest: Debt's a Hoot
Where: Jungle Game Hut
Area: Jungle Area
Who: Hoot
Requirements: None
Task: Make at least a one coin profit in the mini-game.
Reward: Stop 'Em (mini-game)
See the mini-games section for more details.

Quest: Goal Tenderizer
Where: Bowser Pipe House's Blue Pipe to Bowser Stadium
Area: Desert Area
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 3 quests completed
Task: Score 3 goals against Bowser, then complete the Splatterball mini-game.
Reward: Snooze Ewes (Gaddget), Goal Tenderizer (mini-game).
For the Soccer bit, aim for the nuts. This "living wall" refuses to close his
legs to block the ball going in right underneath him, and it looks like it
hits him there every time. So yeah, aim for the nuts. For the mini-game, see
the mini-games section for details. (FYI, the number of Koopa Kids that can
show up in all of these games usually ranges between 30 and 50, though it MAY
be possible to get an extremely small number.)

Quest: Chillin' Villain
Where: Bowser Pipe House's Cyan Pipe to Mt. Frostbite
Area: Snow Area
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 10 quests completed
Task: Give the punch line to jokes, then complete the Ice Crusher mini-game.
Reward: Breeze Buddy (Gaddget), Ice Crusher (mini-game)
A boa tie, see you next fall, and wait 'til tomorrow. The last one I don't
really get, to be honest. For the mini-game, see the mini-game section for
details.

Quest: Bowser: Accused!
Where: Bowser Pipe House's Red Pipe to Bowser Mansion
Area: Town Area
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 15 quests completed
Task: Find Bowser guilty of theft, then complete the Mush Rush mini-game.
Reward: Lip Sync (Gaddget), Mush Rush (mini-game)
Asking about the painting makes him say he's never seen the painting before.
Asking about the mansion makes him say there's no way to hide a painting
behind the clock. But paintings can be as small as a standard 8 1/2 x 11 sheet
of paper, so the only way he'd know if he couldn't hide a painting there is if
he'd seen it before and knew how big it was. The mansion story gives him away.
For the mini-game, see the mini-game section for details.

Quest: Bestest Buds
Where: Bowser Pipe House's Pink Pipe to Bowser Pad
Area: Town Area
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 20 quests completed
Task: Find a gift for Bowser, then complete the Peek-n-Sneak mini-game.
Reward: Shroom Bloom (Gaddget), Peek-n-Sneak (mini-game)
...Bowser... wants a romantic gift... okay then... he's wanting a ring out of
the item shop, so go there, grab it, and return. For the mini-game, see the
mini-game section for details.

Quest: Boss Bowser
Where: Bowser Pipe House's Black Pipe to Bowser Hideout
Area: Jungle Area
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 25 quests completed
Task: Beat Bowser at High Low, then clear the Koopa Kappa mini-game.
Reward: Faux Flame (Gaddget), Hourglass (Gaddget), Koopa Kappa (mini-game)
RNG why? It's possible to wind up losing because the game defies the odds of
probability and draws a 2 when your card is a 3 and 1 has already been played,
given the cards are 1-10. You might chew through a few mushrooms attempting
this one. For the mini-game, see the mini-game section for details.

Quest: Bowser's Toys
Where: Bowser Pipe House's Yellow Pipe to Bowser Toy Shop
Area: Town Area
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 30 quests completed
Task: Prove your Toad Force V knowledge, then clear the Slammer mini-game.
Reward: Screen Clean (Gaddget), Slammer (mini-game)
If you weren't paying attention to the information, or you simply forgot it,
the answers are V, a robot, peace, I'm an iron 'shroom!, Jack. For the
mini-game, see the mini-game section for details.
Disclaimer: Screen Clean does not actually clean your screen, GBA or
otherwise.

Quest: Game King
Where: Bowser Pipe House's Orange Pipe to Bowser Game Hall
Area: Seaside Area
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 35 quests completed
Task: Complete the Watch 'Em mini-game. That's it. Really.
Reward: Jewelry Case
See the mini-games section for details.

Quest: Bowserstein
Where: Bowser Pipe House's Purple Pipe to
Area: Jungle Area
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 40 quests completed
Task: Complete the Koopa Kurl mini-game.
Reward: Magic Lamp (Gaddget), Koopa Kurl (mini-game)
This place is evil. 5 minus spaces in a row. You may as well conserve
mushrooms by going in and out of the pipe (or stopping at Bowser Lab) to kill
your roll if it's 5 or lower. When asking what foe you want to fight, it will
cost you a turn to do so, but do ask to fight the VERY scary monster. It's
great for a laugh. See the mini-game section for details.

Quest: Final Showdown
Where: Bowser Pipe House
Area: Shroom City
Who: Bowser and Koopa Kid
Requirements: 49 quests completed
Task: Complete the Trap Floor mini-game.
Reward: Bowser Print (Gaddget), Trap Floor (mini-game), Credits
See the mini-game section for details.

--------------------
The Mini-Games
--------------------

The format for mini-games is as follows:

Game : The name of the mini-game.
Unlock: How it's unlocked.
Task: How to win the mini-game.
Detailed explanation goes here.

Game : Switch Way?
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the end within the time limit.
Anyone remember those weird ghost blocks from Super Mario Bros. 3? You know,
the ones that carried you around a couple stages where you could screen wrap?
Yeah, this mini-game's pretty much get to the finish by using these blocks.
Only you change where they go by either hitting them from underneath or ground
pounding them instead of simply jumping on them. The blocks will remain in
place until you jump on them, and you have plenty of time to get to the end,
so there's no need to rush.

Game : Bill Bounce
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Get 1,000 points or more within the time limit.
This one's pretty simple, bullet bills keep firing, you keep jumping on them.
Easiest way to complete this mini-game is to do it all in one jump with good
control, as the larger your combo, the more each bullet bill is worth. Time is
rather tight with only 30 seconds to reach the target score, allowing room for
maybe three mistakes if you're decent at comboing things together. If you miss
and get shot, it'll cost you about 5 seconds.

Game : Dreadmill
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the end within the time limit.
There are two conveyor belts moving in opposite directions. You have to run
across them, dodging (or charging into) spikes along the way. You can't jump,
so dodging is the only option. Ramming a spike pushes you back a little, but
the lost time from doing so is minimal, plus you get i-frames. 60 seconds is
plenty of time to complete this one, though keep in mind the conveyor belts
can change direction, speed up, and slow down at a whim.

Game : Tankdown.
Unlock: Spear Thicket quest.
Task: Defeat your opponent within the time limit.
Your weapon has three different power levels. Tap A to fire a shot that deals
1 heart of damage. Hold A for a brief while to fire a shot that deals 2 hearts
of damage. Hold A for longer to fire a shot that deals 3 hearts of damage, and
clears out terrain. However, keep in mind that a stronger charge will slow you
down until you fire it. Sight lines are limited and will only show what's in
front of your character based on where he's looking.

Game : Go-go Pogo
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the goal within the time limit.
This mini-game is a little awkward to control. Holding A will give you more
height in your jump, but will also cause you to move faster. If you're not
careful, you'll wind up on a piranha plant or in the lava pit, which is an
automatic failure. They give you a decent amount of time, so move carefully.
Watch for plants that are moving when they poke their heads out, they'll raise
up completely. The blue pipes are safe, the green ones are not, and some lava
pits have podoboos.

Game : Grabbit
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Grab 7 rabbits within the time limit.
The only advice I can give you here is to make sure you're not going to
collide with a wall in the middle of your dive, as that will stun you for a
good while. Also, don't go for any rabbits near a hole, as they'll just jump
right in and you'll miss them completely.

Game : Reel Cheep
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Catch a 600lb. fish within the time limit.
The bigger the shadow, the bigger the catch, the more buttons you have to
press. Don't waste time with the small fry, go for the big one. Time is fairly
limited on here.

Game : Flingshot
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Fly for 5000 arbitrary units of distance.
Hope you're good at button pressing, and make sure to catch those boosts
forward. 5000 points is relatively easy to get.

Game : Splatterball
Unlock: Complete Goal Tenderizer.
Task: Defeat the Koopa Kids within the time limit.
Simple game of paintball, except the Koopa Kids are unarmed. Paint them green,
just be sure to avoid the random Toad portraits that wander around at times.
Reloading is shotgun style: reloads one bullet at a time until you're full.
This action cannot be interrupted, so the less ammo you have left, the longer
it takes to reload. 99 seconds is plenty of time to do this in, unless you
rolled too high.

Game : Chomp Walker
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Guide Chain Chomp to the goal within the time limit.
Chain Chomp can get rather distracted, so getting to the other side of him and
dragging him toward the goal is one of the better ways to go about this. Only
problem is, if you get too close to Chain Chomp, he's liable to chomp YOU for
lunch. Lure him to meat to get a considerable distance boost.

Game : Bob-OOOM!
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Blow up statues to reach 1,500 points within the time limit.
You have to time your button presses to cause as much damage as possible with
one bomb to get optimal points. Clearing a set is also worth a good chunk of
points. Place your bombs well, this will be over quick. Comboing well can earn
you additional time, but holding on to a bomb for too long will stop you for a
few seconds.

Game : Boo-Bye
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Return enough boos to their portraits to score 1,000 points.
Relatively simple, just get the boos back where they belong. Easier than using
the Poltergust 3000, I promise. Boos will only return to the portrait that
matches their color.

Game : Shell Stack
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Jump on 10 koopa shells within the time limit.
Another relatively simple mini-game. Time your jumps well. No, you don't have
to do a balancing act, at least. Just keep 'em stacked. You have more than
enough time to do this.

Game : On The Spot
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Give 5 Whomps a massage within the time limit.
Time is stopped while you're shown where to poke. It's basically Simon Says.

Game : Drop 'Em
Unlock: Complete Engaging Game
Task: Land a coin in the ? block to make money.
In the quest version, you simply have to drop a coin in the block and hope to
earn at least 1 coin more than you started with. It's a game of timing.
Landing a coin in the block will win you a random prize based on roulette.

Game : Koopa Krunch
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Get 300 points before the stack fills.
Mario's Puzzle Party from Mario Party 3, but with Pac-Attack elements thrown
in. It takes 3 of the same color block (touching any which way) to clear them
instead of 2, and green shells can be mixed in with the blocks. When a red
shell drops in, it will clear any green shells it can find, following a set
path similar to the way Pacman clears ghosts in Pac-Attack. This is the key
time to chain things up and earn a ton of points.

Game : Cloud Climb
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the goal within the time limit.
Simple game, climb the clouds to the top. Springs will rocket you up, brick
platforms will make you jump lower than normal. Plenty of time to make it,
you can do this 60 second mini-game in about 10 if you're good.

Game : Floor it!
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Get 200 points within the time limit.
The elevator seems to have a maximum occupancy; filling it with too many
people will cause some problems. Once you have 4 other characters in it, a
warning will start to play. If you can get 4 of the same character in the
elevator and let them off all at once, it's worth big points and a few seconds
of bonus time. Overall, not too difficult.

Game : Barrel Peril
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the goal within the time limit.
While similar to one of the Mario Party 3 minigames, this one is much easier.
The Chain Chomps will attack you regardless, and you have to be hiding in the
barrel to not get hit by them. Getting hit is not a failure, which makes this
a lot easier. Just run across. You have plenty of time.

Game : See Monkey?
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Rescue the monkeys within the time limit.
Just follow the deep water. It's not that hard, you have a lot of time.

Game : Forest Jump
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Get past 300 points worth of obstacles.
Smacking into one of the obstacles can knock you around a considerable
distance. The only way to fail is to fall, so be careful not to fall.

Game : Flippin' Out
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the goal within the time limit.
You can speed strat this by jumping while holding up and right. The goal is
directly opposite where you come in. You need to land on the yellow peg with
the checkered background to get to the exit.

Game : Stompbot XL
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the goal.
Avoid the lava and get to the end. There are health kits around if you get hit
too many times, but be wary of the lava that's hot on your heels.

Game : Sled Slide
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the goal within the time limit.
Because it's ice physics, it's pretty easy to spin out if you turn too hard.
Better to brake a little bit to ensure a safe turn than spin out to a dead
stop.

Game : Amplifried
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Score 300 points.
Getting zapped is, of course, an automatic fail, but to get points faster, you
need to pull danmaku strats and barely avoid the shocky things. Big points
available when all four amps fire off.

Game : Pest Aside
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Score 500 points within the time limit.
B to bug zap, A to water. Faster reactions are worth more points. Time is a
little tight, but you should be able to speed through this.

Game : Big Popper
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Get 70 points within the time limit.
The closer together you pop the bubbles (timing wise), the greater their
worth, up to 10 points.

Game : Bunny Belt
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Make 10 bunnies within the time limit.
Just press the buttons in the displayed sequence until you've made 10 bunnies.

Game : Spooky Spike:
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Return 10 balls within the time limit.
Left and right are easy to return, it's up and down you'll want to watch out
for. You can miss quite a few balls before failing, so the time limit isn't
that tight.

Game : Melon Folly
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Grab all the fruit within the time limit.
You'll want to take a path that makes you stop on the melon. Traversed spaces
sink, so plan accordingly. You only have 10 seconds, however, so think fast.

Game : Outta My Way
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Reach the goal within the time limit.
Push Thwomps out of the way, and bait Whomps to falling on their faces before
jumping on them. Unless you get tripped up a lot, this shouldn't pose much of
a problem.

Game : Broom Zoom
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Earn 5,000 points.
Staying on the far right of the screen earns the most points, but is a very
high risk. If you ram into an obstacle, you'll be unable to earn points for a
few seconds. Keep a decent streak going about the middle of the screen, and
you should be able to win it.

Game : Sort Stack
Unlock: Normal play.
Task: Complete the game within the time limit.
Just make sure each row of books contains the color specified on the bookends.
It's not too hard.

Game : Chain Saw
Unlock: Complete the Chomper Stomper quest.
Task: Cut the chain link rope before your opponent.
It's tempting to do this fast, but if you tap too quickly, you'll wear
yourself out and slow down as a result. This is something you don't want to
have happen too much. Of course, the AI doesn't care about this fact.

Game : Match 'Em
Unlock: Complete the Losing Streak quest.
Task: Play the slots to earn coins.
As the task says, play the slots, earn money. The story version requires you
to earn a 1 coin profit, which shouldn't be too hard to do if you have halfway
decent luck, although a modicum of skill may be involved since you manually
stop the reels. Pay table is a multiplier of your bet, so a single green shell
(which must start on the left most reel or it's not a win) will earn you 5
coins on a 5 coin bet. 1 coin gives you the middle row, 2 gives you middle and
bottom, 3 gives you all horizontals, 4 adds top left to bottom right diagonal,
5 gives you both diagonals.

Game : Scratch 'Em
Unlock: Complete the Winners Keepers quest.
Task: Play scratch cards to earn coins.
25 space scratch grid, you scratch off 5 spaces and win if you make a series.
No real strategy, just hope you get lucky. As with the slots, the pay table is
a multiplier of your bet. Bet more coins to win more coins, though betting
more will not increase your odds of winning, so for the quest mini-game, I
advise betting 1 coin until you can make a profit. The max bet is much higher
in this game than in slots.

Game : Stair Scare
Unlock: Complete the Duel Tower, 1F quest.
Task: Reach the top of the stairs before your opponent.
Mash the A button. There really is nothing else to it. I was able to knock out
my opponent before even reaching the finish. (Or maybe that's the goal.)

Game : Volleybomb
Unlock: Complete the Duel Tower, 2F quest.
Task: Defeat your opponent.
If your opponent hits it high, but within your jump height, and he's rather
close to the net, that is a very good opportunity to smack it to the back of
his zone. He won't manage to get it usually. If he's at the far back of the
court, stand at the front of the net and smash it at the peak of your jump to
cause it to bounce to the front of his court, and that will get him as well.
The bomb will explode if nobody scores a point in a set amount of time, so try
not to have it in your court when it does.

Game : Chicken!
Unlock: Complete the Duel Tower, 3F quest.
Task: Stay under the Thwomp for longer, but don't get smushed.
The AI is stupid. One press of the Fake Out button, and it flees. Once your
opponent flees, flee yourself to win. Don't be risky.

Game : Hammergeddon
Unlock: Complete the Blooper Battle quest.
Task: Defeat your opponent.
While hammers will usually travel in a set arc, it's possible, if you're right
in an opponent's face, to send a hammer flying straight up. If you're not
right under it, these hammers will usually catch the AI off guard and hit it
if you position yourself well.

Game : Pair 'Em
Unlock: Complete the Game Mage quest.
Task: Remove all the cards from play and make money.
Place bets on pictures, then draw cards and place them around the deck.
Connect two or more of the same image to make them disappear. Sounds simple,
but some cards will be unknown until you place them, so keeping good strategy
is important. Try not to block yourself off completely, and fill the corners
first. Make sure that one of your clears for each image is a 3 of a kind, or
it will not be possible to clear the board. However, you will earn coins for
every image that *is* completely cleared off, based on bet times multiplier.

Game : Stop 'Em
Unlock: Complete the Debt's a Hoot quest.
Task: Bet on Roulette to win coins.
This looks like a sucker's bet. Pick a spot or two (or however many) and hope
it lands on what you bet on to win coins. A blank space loses you all the
money you bet.

Game : Crushed Ice
Unlock: Complete the Chillin' Villain quest.
Task: Defeat the Koopa Kids.
Welcome to ice physics, the game. You get your best speed by ramming into the
walls, which for some reason gives you a speed boost. Controlled collisions
are key to a quick victory. Blue Koopa Kids will take two hits, but their roll
from being hit the first time can combo into other Koopa Kids.

Game : Mush Rush:
Unlock: Complete the Bowser: Accused! quest.
Task: Defend your mushrooms and defeat the Koopa Kids.
Swing your hammer left and right to defend the Koopa Kids coming down those
lanes. Blue Koopa Kids will take two hits. Be wary of Koopa Kids that change
lanes, and the pink ones that will charge occasionally. If one gets past, you
still have a second or two to react and smack them away before you lose the
mushroom.

Game : Peek-n-Sneak
Unlock: Complete the Bestest Buds quest.
Task: Evade the Koopa Kids.
Pay attention to the patterns each color of Koopa Kid makes. Some of them are
a bit out of sync with the others, so play it slow. You'll get extra time
every few you pass.

Game : Koopa Kappa
Unlock: Complete the Boss Bowser quest.
Task: Seal the Koopa Kids in capsules.
The timing to press the button is when the button is centered on the arrows,
though you can time it almost anywhere on the capsule and it will still count.
Five mistakes and it's GG, though. This is honestly one of the easier
mini-games Bowser throws at you; even 50 is no problem.

Game : Slammer
Unlock: Complete the Bowser's Toys quest.
Task: Defeat your opponent.
When your face shows up, attack. When your opponent's face shows up, defend.
Speed is key, however making a mistake will cost you the point.

Game : Watch 'Em
Unlock: Complete the Game King quest.
Task: Find Koopa Troopa consecutively to make money.
In the story, you're made to find Koopa Troopa 3 times in a row. This is
basically Shell Game. Every time you find the target, your winnings will get
doubled until you either stop or find it 5 times in a row, each consecutive
run getting faster and faster and the movements trickier and trickier. Note
that unlike the other game hall mini-games, this one does NOT require you to
make a profit.

Game : Koopa Kurl
Unlock: Complete the Bowserstein quest.
Task: Score more points than your opponent. (2 ends)
This is basically a twist on Curling. All shells on the playfield count for
points based on where they stop. There's even a 2x multiplier zone among the
scoring zones. Though even if you score high, your points are not safe until
both players have fired all their shells in that end.

Game : Trap Floor
Unlock: Complete the Final Showdown quest.
Task: Trap the Koopa Kids.
Most Koopa Kids will turn around if the trap door is open and they're not
standing on it. You fail the mini-game if any of the Koopa Kids touch you, so
the middle row is the most dangerous zone. Anything that's standing on that
row must take top priority. If a Koopa Kid is going to charge you, just leave
the door on that row open. He'll charge right into it and fall over with no
effort on your part.

The Gaddgets
--------------------

Originally, I was not going to cover this section, but I feel like, since I
spent so much time playing this game to get them all, I may as well talk about
them. Note that, while most of these can be unlocked in the main game, there
are 10 that you cannot get in Shroom Land. These must be bought by playing in
Challenge Land and earning enough coins to purchase them. If a Gaddget cannot
be unlocked by playing in Shroom Land (see the quests section for where those
can be earned), I will denote their cost next to their name.

Gaddgets will simply have a name and what they do below the name. No fancy
formatting here. (Note: Press start to exit the Gaddget.)

Snooze Ewes
It's a sheep counting mechanism. Press A to start it, press A to stop it. I
think you'd be better off imagining it in your head as opposed to watching
this Gaddget.

Porta-Gust
It's basically a weird Poltergust thing. D-pad moves the sensor around, hold
A to vaccuum a Boo up when it appears. B ejects the Boos you've caught.

Magic Lamp
Rub the lamp with the D-pad. Do it properly, a genie will come out and do
nothing.

Compat-I-Com
You and a friend press the appropriate buttons in sync. The game measures how
synchronized you two are by that.

Power Star [100,000 coins]
You could theoretically grind your way to 100,000 coins through the game room,
but this is really just a reward for completing Mini-Game Attack all the way
through Attack 15, worth exactly enough coins to buy this Gaddget. All it does
is pop a Power Star onto your screen.

Be wary if you attempt Mini-Game Attack, the games there are much harder
versions of the ones encountered in the story, and as such all that extra
time you had, you may need (or wish you had, as the case may be).

Desktop Golf
Press A to chip. You don't get a putt, just a chip. Try to get it in the hole.
Because that's its home, and it doesn't want to go home, so you have to force
it to go home. Yes, I totally made a Happy Gilmore reference.

Shroom Slide
Set the number of players and the number of winners, then let the game
automate which mushrooms win and which mushrooms lose.

Stick to It
Indecisive about something? Assign choice A to left and choice B to right and
let this Gaddget decide for you.

Bait 'n Wait
It's fishing. No reels, just pole fishing.

Digitizer
Even if you don't put your finger on the screen, it'll still show a finger
with a random object stuck in it as part of the bone. If you actually had
something like a key for a bone, I don't think your finger would work well.

Lip Sync
Mario, Peach, a Goomba, and a Boo with close ups of their mouths. L and R open
them when held (either one).

Shroom Bloom
Grow a mushroom. Press A to spray it, and keep the moisture meter in the lit
areas.

Poochy Pal
Just watch Poochy do stuff, I guess. Nothing to really do here.

Bull's-eye
It's a game of Darts. Though I don't think it keeps track of scoring.

Soil Sonar
Dives down to 10,000 feet underground before the sonar messes up and resets
with a random buried item placed somewhere in between. (Note: Actual ground
beneath you may not contain such objects.)

Eye Exam
Some gadget that's supposed to let you test your eyesight without going to an
eye doctor. I wouldn't advise using this, see an actual eye doctor instead.

Mini Slugger
...wouldn't it be a bit awkward to have one player use the shoulder buttons
while the other uses the A button? It's basically a baseball gadget, without
the baseball mechanics.

Tap-Tap Sumo
It's paper sumo wrestlers duking it out. Less messy than making your own, at
least.

Egg Roll
Basically, you roll the Yoshi egg back and forth until you somehow manage to
make it balanced on its big end. Then it hatches and something pops out. Give
yourself a hand if you manage to pull it off.

Shroom Drop
Have up to 4 mushrooms in the field, then drop them through the puzzle until
one of them hits the bottom. The one that does wins.

Morse Maker
Type in a message, and the Gaddget will play it back in morse code. Or you can
just mess around with the beeps by tapping R.

4-P Pinball
A ball comes out. The players hit the ball around until someone fails to keep
it in play. Last player left wins.

Snow Globe
It's what you think it is. Only not very well done IMO.

Tile Trial
It's a 15 puzzle. Think you can solve it?

Map Maker
Use preset markers to create a treasure map. Too bad you only get straight
lines.

Attack Frog
Press the button to make the respective frog eat the middle object. Don't eat
snakes. They're dangerous. And they came from a plane.

Mini Maze
Randomly generates a labyrinth. You don't get to solve it, unless you trace it
or something.

Faux Flame
It's a lighter, basically. Only it's not real, and it won't catch anything on
fire, so no, you can't use it as a light.

Stress Press
Select an object, then mash it with a sledgehammer. Whatever material they got
for that sledgehammer must be harder than diamond. o.o

Bomb Game
Cut wires until the bomb goes boom. Only one wire is rigged to blow.

Card Trick
A Gaddget that uses an algorith to try to ensure it figures out what you're
thinking. It always will pick a number that's in your initial row unless you
know exactly how to make it not do that.

Hourglass
Three different hourglasses that keep track of different times. I can only
guess that the number is for how many minutes it takes for them to empty.

Rochambeau
Rock, paper, scissors.

Egg Panic
Stuff eggs into the bag until it bursts.

Block Punch
Punch a block until it breaks. Whoever broke it wins.

Dart Attack
Hold button to ready dart, release to fire when target shows up. Lowest dart
that hits wins.

Breeze Buddy
Puts a fan on your screen. Does not actually make you cooler. In either sense
of the word.

Chicken Race
Press the button to stop your car. Closest to the cliff without going over
wins.

Love Me Not
She loves me. She loves me not. She love me. She loves me not...

Mini Bowling
Sit back and enjoy a few frames of bowling with this Gaddget. Maybe not the
best break from the mini-games.

Mini B-Ball
Like Mini Bowling, except for basketball.

Screen Clean
Cleans your screen. Note: Does not actually clean your screen.

Predictotron
Makes predictions for Rochambeau based on inputs you give it.

Cake Maker
Just puts random things on a single cake layer. Do not attempt to eat the
cake, for it is a lie.

Mini Soccer
Same as Mini Basketball and Mini Bowling, except for Soccer.

Dessert Menu
Makes a dessert based on the fruit, flavor, and dish you give it.

Bead Machine
Make your own design of string beads. Each string can have 24 beads on it of
varying colors, and you can have up to 18 strings showing at one time. Maybe
David should make a competition out of this...

Jewelry Case
Displays various jewelry and gems. Shake shake!

Castle Night
Shows the Mushroom Kingdom castle at nighttime, all lit up. May show a random
shooting star in the sky.

Hope Chest
Press buttons to close and open the thing to make a heart vanish and reappear.

Pretty Poster [100 coins]
A pretty poster of a rainbow castle.

Sun Poster [4,000 coins]
Same as Pretty Poster, but with a sun background.

Moon Poster [3,000 coins]
Same as Pretty Poster, but with a moon background.

Coin Poster [10,000 coins]
Same as Pretty Poster, but with a coin background.

Heart Poster [1,000 coins]
Same as Pretty Poster, but with a heart background.

Bowser Poster [1,500 coins]
Same as Pretty Poster, but with a Bowser face in the background.

Bowser Print
A picture of Bowser's paw print. Proof you beat the game.

Bonus Track [2,000 coins] (This value might be swapped with Passport+.)
Allows you to hear a track you can't hear anywhere else in the game.

Passport+ [1,000 coins] (This value might be swapped with Bonus Track.)
Allows you to hold 30 passports from other players.

Credits [2,000 coins]
What it says on the tin.

Thanks to my sanity for holding together while I trudged on through the last
little boring bits. Also for somehow managing to keep the formatting together

make this guide better, drop a post with your improvements. If it gets used,
I'll add your name to this section. (Note that my info for mini-games is for

Quest: Love That Princess!

Area: Horror Area
