You know about this game, I would be surprised if you have never heard of this mind-blowingly popular indie game. If you can imagine it in your head, figure out the Crafting Table, and gather the blocks, you can build anything you picture! Although I got help from a friend, I am still trying to get things done without asking for extra resources. It's easy to get anything, you just have to be patient enough and mine down far enough to get it. I wanted to get some lava, and I dug down to the bedrock, heard the lava, dug up, and I found Gold, Diamonds, and Redstone, without trying to find it! This game has so much you can do, without making it repetitive or boring. Graphics: I give it such a high rating, because the graphics were designed to look this way! The graphics allow you to build anything you put and think of. If you want to build the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, or recreate a movie house, you can do just that. If it weren't for the graphics, none of that would be possible. Everything is comprised of blocks, even the blocks have smaller blocks making it in the shape it's in. Lava, Water, Stone and everything else, are all blocks. But, don't let this make you turn away from the game. It's graphics are not the real seller of the game, it's the possibilities! Watching someone build something can be boring, and if you didn't play the demo or the full game, it seems a little stupid, mostly because of the graphics, but once you play it yourself, all skepticism is gone! The graphics seem odd at first glance, but they are actually the thing that makes the game possible. I give it a 10/10. Sound: Sound is essential in this game, if you didn't have sound, you wouldn't know if you dug close to water, lava, or something like that. If your pick-axe breaks, it makes a certain sound. Maybe you don't think the sound is that good, but I wouldn't have been able to create some cool things without the sound, because I would have been digging right past the little lava pool. You have nice background music, which makes the game calm and even gives a sense of well-being when you listen to it, but I would rather listen to something else, so I put on a Spotify playlist. Although there is little sound, how else would you know which dangers lie waiting to ambush you? There are the sounds that Zombies make, Creepers make (When they start exploding.) and the Skeletons makes! Listen carefully, or you could end up dead! Although there isn't much sound, it is needed for the game to work! I give the sound a 9/10. Addictiveness: I dare anyone to say that they could The game is one of the most addicting games I own. I give it a 10/10. Story: N/A When the Minecraft Storymode comes out, I may be able to edit this, but as of yet, the only story is survival. That's really it. The story is not there, N/A, because it's not the point of the game. Gameplay/ Controls: This is a part that is cool. For an indie game, I have no problems with the controls! They are laid out logically, and they have used simple controls to make the game more fun! You have easy controls, even when building things like a water roof, there are no issues. When you mine, and take the "fast" route, going straight up, placing the block under you once you jump, and breaking the bricks above you, there are no control problems. It seems as though Mojang has thought out all of the moves you would need! I was building a Lava Room, a room where the floor, walls and pretty much anything else was made from lava! It is hard to do, but the controls are really superb. Going up and down the mines can be tedious, but why not just make stairs? Mine a better path, it's really a choice. The controls for Minecraft are superb! I give it a 10/10. Depth: The game has so much depth! Build a house, then a castle, feel like building a monument? You can do that too! If you can imagine the idea, it's possible to make! I have been working on a flowing waterfall that would flow off the top of my roof, this isn't hard, but you have to come up with the idea first. Most of this game is coming up with creative ideas. Once the ideas are there, it's easy to do, if you have mined all of the needed supplies. You can go out at night and just kill Creepers, Zombies, Skeletons, and Spiders. In rare occasions and the right spot, you can try your hand at killing the Enderman. If you wish to pass this fight up, just don't look at him. Mine, Craft, Build, Battle, all these things are done with amazing detail and fun! I love everything you can do. Gathering supplies is made fun, because you need to find food, and then stone, iron, and if you are really ambitious Diamonds. This is just a fraction of what you can do with this! There is so much to do, it really beats Skyrim by a mile! I give it a full 10/10. Difficulty: The difficulty varies on how smart you are with gathering and crafting. If you get a pick-axe and build a primitive house right away, you should be safe, providing the lighting. This can vary on how you make use of the things you get right away. It's a simple concept, but it's really trial and error. If you burn from falling in lava, die from digging right into a deep cave, it really means you need to learn caution. It's really not that hard, but if not done with caution, it can be VERY difficult, especially if you die and lose everything you gathered. I found that when my friend gave diamond armor, pick-axe, and a sword, it's easy, except when I keep falling into the lava, that makes it hard to survive, even though you have the best protection possible. The game isn't really hard, but without caution, it's almost impossible. I give the game an 8/10, because there is only something that is needed at the beginning of the game, after that it's easy. Overall: This isn't the most famous and popular Indie game for no reason. It's one of the best games I've seen. You have infinite possibilities to do whatever you really want. This game gives you the sandbox masterpieces all compacted into one brilliant game! Although it is fun, use caution, because if you don't, you could die! It's fun, has much to do, great sounds, interesting mechanics to learn! It's just awesome! The game gets an overall score of: 9.8/10. darthyoda : First, I just wanted to point out that when Minecraft Story Mode comes out, you wouldn't be able to edit the store here because you would have to write up a brand new review since its a completely different game.
Your reviews are pretty much getting better and better each time you write one, there's no stopping you in terms of writing reviews. I'd have to say my favorite part is the bolded section at the end of each category because that makes each one stand out a bit. In case you haven't noticed from reading my reviews, my favorite word count for a review is roughly 1200 words, so you're spot on with what I like to see. I just love Minecraft, if I didn't, I wouldn't have recorded and uploaded dozens of hours here and played another thousand or so hours on my own, the game is just that much fun to play. Great review, can't wait to see what you have next. P.s.: I kind of regret selling the Empire State Building to EideticMemory. Bad choice on my part, but I really needed the 7500 or so Viz.
