OVERVIEW
 
In the movies, the furthest in time the characters had ever been was 2015, and now 2015 is about to be a few days away as of this post. No we still don't have all that futuristic jazz you see exaggerated in the movie or any other science fiction movie for that matter. I'll get you up to speed on what this game is about.
 
Several months had passed since Emmett "Doc" Brown and his family flew off in their train at the end of Back to the Future 3. It is now 1986 and "GREAT SCOTT!" Doc is ruled as missing. The bank decides to sell off his home and possessions and soon the DeLorean arrives without a driver except for Einstein the dog. There is also a shoe in there that is not Doc's. Now it's up to Marty to find out what became of Doc and rescue him and all the while a lot of stuff starts changing around them as you venture through five episodes of time travelling and puzzle solving mysteries to fix the timeline to what it is supposed to look like or improve it for the better. It was released as a disc and as five separate episode purchases. Fortunately, the disc version contains all the episodes in one and also allows you to obtain the Platinum Trophy for completing all trophies. That also means that some of the ranks of trophies on the separate episodic ones will change in the disc version but gameplay is still the same on both versions.
 
GRAPHICS - C+

 I'll give credit to the makers of having the main characters look like their original movie counterparts but there are several graphical glitches that take place such as some objects and people actually merging into each other when they are close to each other like a book going through someone's face or another object merging through a wheel in the DeLorean. At least we didn't get any scary graphics such as those seen with Ubisoft games like Rocky Legends and the recent Assassin's Creed game where the characters were super deformed. The town looks okay but the camera angles can leave you out in a loop sometimes when trying to figure out where to go. The characters look decent according to their age and timeline. Edna ages differently depending on which timeline you end up. She looks old and grey in the first game's 1986 then sweet petite and cunning in 1931. Next she is salt and pepper in Episode 3's 1986 then an old shrew in the last game's 1931 after going back in time to 1885 and living out the remaining years until 1931 catches up.
 
SOUND/MUSIC - A
 
The game had a good voice acting cast throughout all five games including having Christopher Lloyd reprise his role. With Michel J. Fox suffering from Parkinson's Disease he couldn't really reprise his role as Marty in the game but his replacement was spot on in sounding like him. Michael did however get in on the action by playing the role of his grandfather Willie in the final episode. The other characters also sound just like the way they look. Artie McFly looking and sounding all lanky and wimpy. Kid Tannen looking and sounding like an old tough guy. Edna Strickland being all petite and snobbish. Trixie being all valley airheaded. She sounds just like Harley from Batman the Animated Series but they are not the same voice actresses. The songs she sings are excellent to listen too and deserve a soundtrack all to itself.
 
GAMEPLAY - C
 
There is really no way to get a game over in this game. You just got a lot of time consuming puzzle solving to figure out. You get clues throughout the game and sometimes you got to use them wisely and find some thoroughly if you are looking to hunt for some trophies that are missable because not all clues are too obvious like the secret exit in episode two is found by examining them in the bar at the beginning of the game then later on near the end, you get to use those numbers at the roulette table to get the trophy. Another one is in episode three when you are going for the demerit trophy. Use the tire iron on the gate for the first one. The other three side ones are easier to get from there. The main three are all story related. While you are going for the dog demerit you can spray the wall next to Jennifer's tag for another trophy. If you are not trophy hunting then the games will go by faster.

CONTROLS - C-
 
The controls can sometimes be a mess when you are trying to get where you need to go. It goes in one direction then when you change screens, the directional controls will be out of sync so you will sometimes find yourself going the wrong way. Another gripe about the controls is trying to select the correct item or person, the Right Stick selection is highly sensitive and you will sometimes accidentally choose something else. 
 
REPLAYABILITY - C+

Unless you want to get a platinum or 100% depending on the version of the game you are playing then there is no need for replayability once you beat the game. Without any game overs, there is no way you can ultimately mess up even though it looks like you could.
 
OVERALL - C+
 
In all I give this game a C+ because even though the gameplay section was time consuming and monotonous at times, I had a good time listening through the story of the game going on. There may be five episodes but after the end of the final one, which ends similar to Back to the Future 3, there is a hint of possible a sequel or sequel series possibly happening with it saying TO BE CONTINUED instead of THE END but there has been no word of that. Nonetheless, I would not mind giving it a shot should it come about.

Azul Fria : I had no idea this game existed for the PS3. If  I had, I would've got it long ago, regardless of the rating! Who doesn't want a continuation to the Back to The Future series, even if it's in video game format.... I sure do not object to that.
