Ok,so I'm going to review tales of fantasia for the psx.this game is really good,and in my opinion better than the other incarnations,like the gab version,that is horrid.first I'm going to talk about the graphics.
They are really good when you consider its a pox game,and as a plus the developers of the translation put some options,like if you want the literal translation of the arts,magic and spells or the Romanized translation,which normally means its going to make sense.I pick the Romanized,but if you want the literal to feel more the game its up to you.the translators also put subtitles on all optional characters dialogue(press select on the world map) which really makes it feel like an anise,because they talk japanese,hehe.otherise no major flaws with the graphics,but they could have made them a little more detailed,otherwise its pretty good,that's why I gave them a 9.Next up the sounds of the game.they are really amazing,the normal battle music and the sum mom battle music are really good and don't feel old at all,and many other pieces are very good.definicely a 10,no problem in the sound sector at all for me.Addictiviness in my opinion deserves a 10 because its a really good game with tons of play time,so you probably are going to play it again,although maybe not immediatelly,but again,its personal,since if you dont like to play rpgs more than once because of the long story and whatnot you dont need to,but for me,its a 10,ive played this game 3 times already and it feels new every time.Now for the story,it doesnt have many twists,only at the end.basically a super powerful bad guy that was sealed away because he was...hum...bad,I guess... is reawakened in the beginning of the game,but you dont actually get to see what happens then because your friend,before dieing( or so you think ) teleports you into the past,and then you and partners have to find a way to beat bad guy in the past , go back to future and save the power of offensive magic,beacuse in the past offensive magic still exists,but in your present only healing magic does,which is terrible because normally offensive magic has better animations,hehe. and of course thats not all, youre going to experience many things,its a great story and in my opinion deserves a 10 . next up we have depth , again with the elements of the story that I just listed you can probably see that theres a lot of things to do in the game,and of course theres sidequests,ranging from just talking to a couple in many towns to actually entering the super boss dungeon , again it has a lot of sidequests , but many are really useless , normally only the lengthy ones are worth it,but if you are a completionist this game serves you right,including using an item in all enemies of the game... yeah,not for me,but by all means,go for it.10 for depth,like in most rpgs. Finally we have  difficulty,at the beginning of the game you can choose easy, normal or hard. this rating is based on the normal mode. in normal mode the enemies are ok,but most bosses are really hard, especially the final battle in the past,its horrid,I hate it, so unfair. by now I already got the hang of it,but for first timers even normal mode can be hard. I gave it an 8 because theres no surprises,like an enemy that you cant damage at all or something like that, or a boss that impossoble to defeat at a certain point or anything like that. ALSO theres one dungeon thats really annoying because it sucks your hp every step and theres enemies that you have to flee from,and thats the only of its kinf in the entire game. the problem for me is that ita in beginning of the game, when you dont have much hp and tp and its before you get magic user and summons,so basically you go there with you sword,a frail healing and support magic user and a guy that can only attack for medium damage for the moment I hate that dungeon. all in all a really good game,if you havent played it or even if you played other incarnations of tales of phantasia you should play this one,its better than most of them. good luck and I hope this review helped you clear any doubts you may have had.

mario98 : I wondered if this game was as good as the title was. Maybe it is and I should really try it If I have the chance. I'll keep this one in mind.
