Spider-man the videogame was made in 1991 by the company "Sega" and it is one of the most entertaining and fantastic superhero games ever to hit the arcades besides x-men the arcade game and the punisher back in the early nineties.Just like "The Avengers" arcade game it's a four player co-op beat em up that has like a 1960's comic style feel to it,where you can choose from four different marvel super heroes ,Spider-man,hawkeye,blackcat or sub-mariner and hunt down Doctor doom in this adventurous arcade game where you must go through an army of kabuki warriors ,and the Kingpins henchmen to get to the main bosses at the end of each level .The levels ,the character models and graffics are pretty well designed and have a comic book feel to it bringing comic book villains from your favorite spider-man comics, such as his arch nemesis Venom,Scorpion, the green goblin ,the Sandman,Doc oct ,the Kingpin and as i mentioned before, the main boss villain known as Doctor doom. This is one of those one to four player action packed beat em up style game where you'll get those type of levels that you can walk either up,down ,left , right ,jump ,jump kick ,and each character with combo attacks and only one special move per character wether it's spider-mans web shooters, blackcats whipping ,hawkeyes shooting arrows ,or sub-mariners powerful electricity lightning.Spider-man,blackcat,and hawkeye are pretty amazing heroes to have in this game, but i would've prefered captain america than sub-mariner ,but on another note, the game delivers lots of fun for the old school gamer who enjoys these arcade classics and accepts the style of graffics of the old time beat em ups ,wether the player is going solo on the mission or with a group of allies .The game is not all that difficult and the controls are pretty simple ,only thing is that the character models will walk kind of stiff as they walk kind of slow (one thing i did'nt like) but dealt with .Nonetheless, despite its few flaws , it's still pretty much a decent game and in my opinion,it's a superb classic and adds to the list of my favorite marvel comics arcade games ever made .
