What do you get when you mix eggs with tetris, blimps, a combo system, high explosives,  and one hundred thousand gallons of rising water?

EEEEEGGGG MAAANNIIIIAAAAAAAA!

....Sorry, I really can't think of a better way to describe it.

Developed by "Hotgen", Egg Mania has a simple premise: 2 eggs try to build a tower to a floating blimp before the opponent does. Winner moves to the next level.
This is actually an upgraded version of the Game Boy Advance game of the same name, so you can give it a shot over here. (https://www.vizzed.com/play/egg-mania-gba-online-game-boy-advance-9821-game)

Crates with blocks fall from the sky to accomplish this, ranging from single blocks, to the Z, I, +, and C shaped blocks.  Use these to make rows of the tower, and eventually build the tower to the point you can get to the blimp and bolt.
Sounds a bit like inverse tetris, but there's...complications.

Namely the water/lava and the stuff that lives in it.

See,the water has a nasty habit of ruining your work if you leave gaps in the tower. A slight gap in a tower will destroy the entire row, and if the water overtakes the tower completely, you kinda instantly lose.
It's also full of things that like to eat eggs. Turtles, Skeleton fish, Dinos, Bubbles, and more keep you on your toes as you attempt to get out of the area in one piece.

If you fall into the water, there's usually a friendly dolphin who'll give you a ride to the top of your tower, so all you have to worry about is the number of explosives that your opponent's throwing at your tower.
....Speaking of which....
your opponent's going to be trying to.... interfere.. with your escape.
Bombs, lightning, and hammers will be thrown between the two towers in an attempt to destroy them. Lightning knocks the Egg off the tower, Hammers destroy EVERY row that has a gap, and bombs are hot potatoes (KAABOOOOOM).
Actually, "destruction of tower" has an entire mode dedicated to it. Bomb mode removes the blocks for a bit, and gives you more bombs then you can throw at your opponents tower.
This may seem unnecessarily complicated, but it's actually pretty fun.
...As long as your not trying to beat the computer.

Time for the numbers breakdown!

Graphics: 7/10
Not gonna lie, they could of pushed this console a lot more in the "Graphics" department.
Still, it's not bad. Every character gets an introductory cut-scene when challenged, and the backgrounds look pretty.

Sound: 6/10
Sound effects are okay, and music's nice The egg that yells "watch out" every time a monster pops up doesn't help this category. MOVING OOONNN

Addictiveness:  Depends/10
I prefer tearing a tower limb from limb then building my own for some strange reason, but both modes can be quite fun.
HOW fun depends on how stubborn you are, as the only way to unlock most everything is to beat the computer....

....So: quick question...

Difficulty: 10/10  (Depth 6/10)

How dedicated are you to unlocking everything?
Overall, there are 5 "characters" to unlock, but I reaallllyyy don't think you can accomplish that.

Oh, you'll get spook. Possibly Egg-a-lot. Heck, you might even be skilled enough to get "Yolkohoma".

....but you will never unlock Angelica by regular means.
1,000,000 points in solo, and you will drown before you get halfway. Guaranteed.

They're just skins of the other characters, but it still makes me mad...

Oh, right, why it's hard. sorry.
See, it starts off easy enough. You'll beat the eggs, lose once or twice, climb to the top...

...and then watch the computer opponents absolutely destroy any attempt to build the tower.
Perfect combos, Block multipliers, even the MONSTERS seem to be on the computers side.
The computer can and will kick your egg-shelled behind from here to next week, usually at the most inopportune time.
Losing all your lives is really annoying when fighting the final boss. Beating the game is largely a manner of understanding the combo system and praying that the computer slips up minorly so you can overtake him.
Or throw a hammer at him. That works well.

Total: 8.9/10-wait, WHAT?

Weird, isn't it?
This game isn't stellar in any category. It's hard, it's silly, it has no real point...
...but regardless, I had a lot of fun.

I'm not really sure WHY I like playing it, but there's something about finishing a tower faster then your opponent/blowing the opposition to smithereens that's quite enjoyable.
Even if they're rotten cheating jerks.
Or maybe especially....
I dunno. I never actually played multi-player with someone. I'm sure that's caused problems though.

....Anyway, if you find it in a pawn shop for ten bucks, consider picking it up. Lot's of fun.
