All right, this is one of the best anime that I have ever watched(almost the best in my list). It is basically, another trapped-in-a-game anime, but it's very good in that it respects game mechanics and shows the social aspects of being trapped in a game in a great way.
Let's start with a little about the plot: Elder Tales was a MMORPG game(not a virtual reality game), whose 11th expansion called Novasphere Pioneers(or Homesteading the Noosphere- i got this info from log horizon wiki and if you know it, you might be able to guess what's happening in the story) caused the players to be trapped in the game as if it's the reality, with the event called as Apocalypse by players. We follow a veteran player named Shiroe, with whom we experience the new life where the players, who don't really have any purpose in life or law in this world, are either in state of depression or are committing acts of transgression. Therefore, Shiroe and his comrades Naotsugu and Akatsuki set out to correct this.
There are also few more things different about this world, like foods and drinks taken from menu are tasteless while ingredients themselves have taste and NPCs have become sentient, but telling more than this is spoiling. Finally, this anime is different from other trapped-in-a-game anime, in that it is able to give you a lot about game mechanics without plot being focused on fighting a certain enemy or villain(once you watch, you'll understand).
I can't really stress out the greatness of this anime, but i really recommend everyone to have a one-episode watch at least. And well if you already watch, you might wanna tell about the anime in your own words
