thing1 : You were interested in this game, so I though I would summon you to this review...

Race with exotic cars like the Bugatti Veyron, several Lamborghini, Ford Sports cars. Ruin those same cars if you wish. Play as a cop cleaning up the streets, or become the biggest street racer in the city, your city, almost your rules. Sadly this doesn't have the Open-World aspects as in Need for Speed: Underground 2, and as a cop you have to chase down the driver, you can't determine that route. Although you do have missions where you need to escape, it still has it's limits on exploring the map. The game is great, but it could be better, enough for the intro, here is the rest of the review!

Plot/ Story: Okay, this game has really weak story aspects. In fact there isn't there isn't one there. I enjoyed the game, but it was really more about graphics and the cars. The action packed racing. The thrill of destroying a $200,000 car. The story is really just destroying cars to clean the streets. I do wish there was more there, but it is a racing game, so the expectations are automatically low.
Because the game really has no story I am giving it a 6/10. There is something there, but it doesn't show itself as a story.

Graphics: The game has amazing graphics, especially the cut-scene like destruction of cars. I really enjoyed the detail put into the demolition stuff. The game was developed by Criterion Games. Although I never heard about them before this game, I was truly blown away at it's detail. This game is one of the first games I played that was not 5-10 years old, which is really a way to say that it made the great graphics even better. The game will age with grace, as it has little problems with design.
I loved the graphics, all the animations in the game were executed with amazing detail, therefore I give it a 10/10.

Controls/ Gameplay: The game handles like the luxury cars it has in it. It handles really well. The game doesn't have oversensitive controls, nor does it have clunky controls. It has a nice balance, and carried the controls I liked so much in the other NFS games I have played. I never would drive the turn buttons down, because it would over steer. But thanks to my brother, I became a really good drifter. I don't want to brag, and in fact, there are many ways to race, but I often could stay ahead of the cops on most every turn. Tap, that is the key to racing here. If you use NOS sparingly you are really unbeatable. NOS, a good car, and master the turns, you will win every time. The only thing that was hard to do here, stopping the other racers. That was challenging, but it is only a different way to race, which means you need to throw out the other racing ideas. (Ways you raced in previous NFS games.)
Because the game handled quite well, I give it a solid 9/10. The game really handled just the way I like it to be in racing games.

Sound/ Music: The game has music, but again, it wasn't my style, just like the other Need for Speed game I have. I did like the car sounds, and although you can't customize your car, you do have the cool sounds that would be found in the real cars. I couldn't get over the realistic smashing and scratching you had when you bumped against a wall, or destroyed another car.
The game has good sound, but I can't give a rating for Music. For the other sounds I give it a 8/10

Dificulty: The game got really hard, especially right after the Bugatti got released. I got it, and had to stop playing because I spent hours racing the same track, and really it just got boring doing the same thing, and failing. The AI was using the same tactics I would use to evade cops... This makes it really hard to counter, because you use it. This means you have no idea how to counter. Although fun, skill is needed for this game. Luck won't help you win.
Because the game is hard, not at the beginning, but later on: This game gets a 9/10.

Depth: The game has much to offer, but it seems linear, if you will. It only has two campaigns. This reduces the replay value considerably. I enjoyed it, but after finishing the campaign there is really nothing to do. You can't free roam, you can't do random races. This make the game seem like not much, and it would have been better to buy after the price drop. (I made the mistake of buying it before the price drop.) Great game, but needs more in it. (Just my opinion, still fun though.)
The game has really good long campaigns, but it could have had more. I give it a 4/10. I am a little biased though.

Addictiveness: The game is really addictive, before you get frustrated with the hard races. After that point it gets a little boring. I loved the game, despite the hard races. I really can't say much here, because I would be repeating other stuff in the review.
I really liked the game, but it could have had more, which means that it isn't as addictive. 7/10

Overall: The game is really amazing. Great graphics, gameplay, sounds, and a wide variety of cars. I couldn't have asked for a better racing game. I enjoyed playing as the cops, in my opinion it is more fun to destroy something than to outrun something. I highly recommend this game to all who love racing!
Overall: I give it an 8/10. A really high rating for an overall. The game could have more to offer, but it is worth the money spent on it!

I actually ended up buying this over Underground. I thought I had told you that. Also, that I used to have this game?

And something you can add to your review, or do a future on... this is actually a remake of sorts. This was originally a PS2 game. Not sure if it was on XBOX or not.

thing1 : Your right. It is a reboot actually. Last I checked you didn't buy it yet, you said you wanted to. I don't think you told me that you used it.
