Another day, another review. Toady's review is on a game that you may have heard of. This is Braid, a puzzle / action platformer that has appeared on multiple platformers including PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. I love this game.
Braid is a platformer with a unique mechanic. You can turn back time! Lets look deeper into the game itself.

Graphics: 10
The graphics in this game are ASTOUNDING. The amount of detail that they put into the scenery, the characters, and the backgrounds are phenomenal. They look like professionally done paintings. The backgrounds even look like they have individual brush strokes. If your eyes aren't pleased, then you must not like works of art.

Sound: 10
The sound is just as pleasing to the ears as the visuals are to the eye. The music is soft on the ears and not fast paced like most video game soundtracks, and they're catchy too. The songs are beautifully composed. That's what it sounds like, a composition. This entire game should be hung up in a museum. It's that good, and I am not exaggerating. Okay, maybe a little, but still.

Addictiveness 8
When you start this game, you can't stop till you finish it. The game is incredibly fun. Turning back time is so cool, and the other mechanics that they introduce (I'm not gonna spoil them) add a twist on the time turnbacking. Is turnbacking a word? Maybe I'm thinking of reversing. Whichever one it is, its that.

Story: 10
The story is told through little books at the beginning of each world. The main character, Tim, made a mistake. A lot of the story takes a lot of piecing together to understand, and I love that in a story. I love when the game makes you think about the story like that. But, if you get every item in the game, you get a special ending, which reveals a lot to the actual story. But, I'm not gonna spoil it, cause that wouldn't be fun at all.

Depth: 7
This game has a lot to offer. On top of the normal game play, there is a speed run option, little puzzles that, despite being required to complete the game, I felt the need to mention them. There are also rare collectibles scattered all throughout the game. In certain hard to reach areas, there are little stars that you can grab. What these do, who knows. Well, the creators do, and so do I, and the millions of people who have seen what happens, and the people who have gotten all of them, but you don't. Or do you? I don't know. But, these stars are incredibly hard to get. Either hard or tedious. One star involves waiting for 2 hours for a cloud to move across the screen, and it doesn't move when the game is minimized. That sucks. Do you know how much time I wasted because I had the game minimized? About 3 hours.

Difficulty: 8
As I mentioned above, the stars are hard to get, but the main game is not too difficult. It has some hard parts, and the 45 minute speed run of the entire game is incredibly hard. And by speed run, I mean you have 45 minutes to beat the game. Wow.

Overall: 9
This game is definitely worth your time, no matter how time consuming it can be. This game is definitely on my must play list.
