I'm pretty chill when driving these days, but for some reason around the Suburb that I live, people seem to really love driving 5-10 miles UNDER the speed limit. Which really can be annoying and back up traffic more than it needs to be.

I'm in no way saying people have to speed but at least try to drive CLOSE to the limit.

I personally drive around 5mph OVER the limit. Mainly due to the fact that there really is no reason to speed much faster than that on the side streets. You wind up just getting caught by the light anyways. What cracks me up are the people that speed around you going 20 over...and then you pull up right next/behind them at the light.

Additionally with gas costs these days I would rather save the gas and drive like a safe person. Also, who needs to added costs and hassle of speeding tickets?

Jordanv78 : Old people?

I too tend to drive 5 over the limit, except where I know cops are sometimes, then I try to go no more than 1 or 2 miles per hour over the limit.
However, if I am in the interstate, I'll go about 10 over. So, I'll go 70 in a 60, and 80 in a 70.
In the few 80 zones I have ever driver, I tend to stay about 80... 85. MAX.

Jordanv78 : On Interstates you can usually drive faster AND save on gas. But yes it is always better to play it safe; if you fall on a policeman that needs to fill his quota your are in trouble.

thing1 : "old" people usually prefer the center to the suburbs because there are more services. Maybe there are more children in that zone?
