Okay, so a typical shooter, with a cool story. You can use many guns, even modified guns, like new scopes on the same gun. Snipe, use a silenced gun, or just go out with an RPG! There are many ways to play this game. One of the really good features of Battlefield is that, the environment gets effected by explosions! That's right, walls will disappear! You can shoot through a wooden pole, and hit your enemy! I would say that that is realistic. Plot/ Story: 7/10 It seems like a typical revenge plot. A guy's Dad gets killed in a suicide mission, he wants revenge against America, and you and your squad take him down. Typical, but the way they do this seems cool. You get to play as the person on the suicide mission. You are part of a Special Forces squad after the Second World War, as a different character though, and you have to take out the Russian Communists in the Cold War. The story overall is rather good. A mystical Weapon, made by the Japanese, the Russians get it, you take down a plane. (Not going into detail, so I don't spoil too much.) That's about it, but it is good, especially for a shooter. Graphics: 9/10 Why such a high rating. Well, there are no problems with the legs when people run. (referring to Medal of Honor: Airborne) The cut scenes are really well animated, and extremely realistic. The eyes look almost real. DICE did a good job with their Frostbyte engine if you ask me. Even outside of the cut-scenes you have good graphics. Although sometimes they made it hard to tell what you are shooting at, especially in the Desert and Snow environments, you have realistic environments. The dust flies up behind the car. Now, one problem is, you might have a hard time taking out enemies while driving, as the dust flies up, and you can't see. (A frequent problem.) But none-the-less, they did a good job on graphics. Controls and Gameplay: 5/10 This seems rather low, but I give it a low rating, as driving can be really tricky, partly due to the camera angles, and enemies shooting at you. Also your melee attack is the middle mouse button. (Push down the mouse button.) Which is rather odd. I liked the "F" button on my keyboard. Which is usually what is used. Also, you might find that the map isn't a hot-key on your keyboard either. You have to press the "esc" button to view it. While not in cars, and not using melee, the controls are really smooth. I had no problems sniping, using grenades, or even just shooting my primary weapon. Which should give the game a higher rating in this section, but I can't get over the hard driving... Sound/ Music: 10/10 I really like the sound. The music was in the background, where it belongs. But that doesn't mean it isn't good music. I liked the soundtracks on Bad Company 2. But I don't want it to be my focus... The guns have good sound, grenades sound good, etc. Voice acting isn't out of the ordinary, but it isn't cheesy. I really think that this was a good idea for DICE! Not too much to say here, but I must say I like this section! (Sound and Music) Depth: 8/10 This gets an average rating, as you can play the levels again, I think. (Not too sure about that. You should be able to level Difficulty: 6/10 I didn't find it that hard, granted I died many times, but it didn't seem hard. Just frustrating, when I have to doge mortars, and do the same part five times. The enemies aren't that hard, I didn't die from your typical thug though. If an RPG came when I wasn't suspecting one would, it is an instant kill. I had it on normal, because I wouldn't consider myself a good gamer, but it was in a nice range of difficulty. The driving could be challenging, but it wasn't hard because of the enemies, but the weird way to drive. It gets a low rating, which in this case I would say is good. Addictiveness: 9/10 I LOVED this game. It was fun, at times challenging. I had a hard time stopping in the middle of a level. I must say that it is mainly because of the Depth, and story that I find this game addictive. With the many ways to get your enemies killed, the variety of vehicles, and the cool story, this game is truly a shooter gem! Overall rating: 8.5/10 An average review rating, since I just averaged the scores I gave it. But I would say a nine of ten or something like that. (I did change the score from the average, but just by one point.) I must say I really enjoyed this game. And it sits in the glory of a high rating, with great honor. This game really did deserve its rating. Plot/ Story: 7/10 It seems like a typical revenge plot.
