Help with using xbox 360 wired controller

I hooked up my xbox 360 controller to my laptop, and i calibrated it. It works fine on the calibration screen, every single button. When i open the game window it doesn't seem to work even though it says at the top "Game supports PC controller". Does anybody know the solution?

PS : The game is 40 Winks if that's relevant. Respond ASAP please and thank you!

KimJongWasCool : First off, welcome to the site, second, does the game offer full controller support? If not, you may have to use certain gamepads. Also, sometimes, a simple game reset does the trick.
