I wasn't aware of the palette swaps and alternate costume leaks, but I did know about the game copies leaked. This is just sad. I am omega-terra-super-hyped for this game, but to think there are people out there who would have their friend leak a copy to them. But honestly, I don't mind that much anymore. It was released in Japan today (9/13), so it doesn't bother me that they leaked copies a few days ago.
To be honest, I was hoping for more alternate costumes. There are mods for Brawl (coughprojectmpattseditioncough) that have literally a few hundred alternate costumes, and these people aren't professionals that work for Nintendo. I really have high hopes for the Wii U version, though.
My opinions on the new characters:
Bowser Jr. - Bowser Jr. A character requested by many just because he's Bowser Jr. I never imagined that he would be in the Clown Copter, but that's awesome! I really like his moveset, though I must ask... What's with the licking attack?
Dark Pit - Funny thing is, King Dedede was going to be in SSB64, but Sakurai didn't want to over-represent his own series. But with SSB4, it seems quite the opposite. He really is over-representing Kid Icarus: Uprising. 3 characters? Yeah, that's OK. But the entire 3DS port is a fricking clone of Uprising. Anyhow, Dark Pit does seem like a really cool character, but why does he have to be a clone? He could use a completely different moveset, but it is all basically the same except for his down and neutral B. Still, pretty cool.
Duck Hunt Dog - What? When he was first leaked, I was sure the leak was fake. Duck Hunt Dog? That's ridiculous! But we've seen that Sakurai can put a moveset on any character (lololololwiifittrainerandrobandcaptainfalcon). Pretty funny character, though. I like how his smash attacks make it look like the gunmen from Duck Hunt are shooting at him.
Falco - Falco's awesome, what can I say? But I must say I thought they would have Wolf instead for awhile. Falco is a very popular character in both Melee and Brawl, but Wolf was less of a clone of Fox and I think has more importance in the Star Fox series. Falco is Fox's buddy, but Wolf is the main villain.
Ganondorf - I think he only has one custom move that uses his sword. And it doesn't even look good.
G&W - I loved him in Melee and Project M (even though he was bottom tier in both) because of his lovely aerials. But I heard that Pac-Man was a lot like G&W, so I thought G&W might be cut. But at the same time, I knew he would be in.
Jigglypuff - Yay, but I get an odd feeling that Jiggly will still be Brawlish-weak.
Ness - We all knew he would be back.
R.O.B - I hate R.O.B to be honest. Did anyone actually use R.O.B. though? I feel like R.O.B. and Ganondorf/Zelda were the least used characters.
Wario - Oh yay, looks like my friend will be spamming Wario's bike again (that's literally the only move he uses with Wario, plus Wario is his main).
Dr. Mario - I found out about a month ago that I am extremely good as Dr. Mario in Melee (though I still never use him). I'm excited that he's back!
