My very first blog. This will be where all my TAS works and stuff go for retro games that I have wanted to speedrun using an emulator for a while. The only games I will TAS are ones that aren't anything newer past SNES and Sega Genesis, as a N64 TAS will be so heavily input tested on a input stick that it ain't worth doing N64.
--------------------------------------
Please be patient because TASes take weeks to do just a level or two in a heavily optimized matter on games for the Wii or GameCube, and 1-4 days on NES, SNES, and Genesis games, even including Sonic games on a Sega CD. Wait at least 4 days. Sometimes, I will upload just 2 different parts while secretly working on other parts.

I will post whenever I update with new parts of a TAS being uploaded or worked on.

--------------------------------------
Game #1: Sonic & the Secret Extended Edition v4.2

Rerecords: 2141
Time: 14:41.93 (from power-on to red screen)
Game Time: 9:14 (m:ss)
------------------------------
Game #2: Sonic Jam 6
------------------------------
Progress: COMPLETE

Movie time info completion:
Warpless: 17:31.97
Warped: about 28:30

Not ready to be uploaded yet, because I still have to get it recorded and I was too busy cleaning my computer using an antivirus program.

Please wait for updates coming every once in a while.

My final seperate part of my TAS is now done and uploaded. It took 5 weeks to do this TAS.

Please check my thread post for the link to the last part. It's the link with Star Light, Spring Yard, and Scrap Brain. Now, give me a few days before I upload the full run in 480p from a computer to YouTube.

I will keep TASing many other games, but give until October 17th until I reveal my next game TAS.
- Just one thing I need to add, if my full run video quality is bad, blame WMM for the butchering. It is the only direct-video compressing tool I can get quick access to. WMM allows me to compress the full video of the entire TAS from 11 GB to 42 MB with the video having 1492 Kbit rate.

Ok, now the FULL TAS is uploaded for everyone to check! Watch in awe, everyone!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26UImLYpJNE

Video is uploaded in 760kb bit rate and 640x480 dimensions, btw. It cuts frames, but blame WMM. It doesn't make it too bad, as the quality is nice. Please watch it in the highest quality setting as it looks very nice.

Description has TAS info including total time worked into and technical info, too. Sorry this took long to update, as I can get lazy or addicted to something else quite often.

Okay, here comes a new game I will do.

*drumroll*

Sonic Jam 6! A pirated hack of an unlicensed Mario game on the Sega Genesis in which is just a sprite hack which replaces just the character speites with seemingly low-quality Sonic 3 sprites. I checked the ROM data and the pirated game was made in 2003, maybe a few years after the Sega Genesis then stopped selling at most stores, being an old console from the late 80's.

Categories for TAS: Warpless (32 levels) and then Warped (world 4-2 vine doesn't work and can't be activated, so I have to do worlds 5-8 again )

Also, the controls suck and are beyond over-responsive, so you'll mostly die from controls. Enemies like Pirahnas and even Bowser can be destroyed by jumping on them, both without taking damage if lucky. This will be fun, because it isn't as hard to optimize as my previous Sonic TAS because its a side scroller. Jumping sucks too so I can entertain people even better when the run gets finished.

Updates will come every 3-4 days, so be sure to check every once in a while for updates.

New update for Sonic Jam 6.

Last night, I finished completing the warpless part of the TAS. Here's my TAS movie info currently:
Time worked: 3 days
Movie time: 17:31.97 (from power on)
RTA timing: 17:31.00 (from pressing start) (movie time in frames - 58 frames for startup)
Rerecords: 978

Warpless [Complete]
Warps [Starting now!]

If you want live updates throughout the days, find me in the chat room under the name of general chat. I don't stream because I don't have a mic or a reliable screen recorder to stream, and I don't both XSplit or a Twitch account to stream, so you'll see me post my progress in the chat about almost every hour I'm on. I'm set to "busy" when TASing so if you want to ask questions, I can freely answer whatever you need speaking of TAS or this game. Same goes for my other TASes I will be doing.

Instead of posting my TAS in parts like I did with Sonic and the Secret Extended Edition, I'm uploading in full and with my emulator recorder. After recording, I compress the size with the super basic Windows Movie Maker. It's actually good for direct compressing and video clip adding.

The vines aren't in the game at all, so after I warp to world 4, I have to have a fire flower and I have to go to world 5 since no world 6-8 warp exists in the game. So I have to revisit worlds 5-8 and go redo those levels. There's one glitch I do not allow in this TAS except for world 6-1, where you can jump in midair with frame perfect timing. It can work in real time although it isn't guaranteed at all.

I haven't updated in quite a while, but I finished my TAS around 1-2 weeks ago. I'm sorry for not uploading the TAS yet already, I need to record it, then put it in WMM, and then upload it. I will promise I can get it uploaded around the weekends.

Also, my favorite fan game is a slight reason why I am not able to upload it already, and the fan game is Sonic Robo Blast 2.
