Super Mario Strikers is a fun game that I used to play all the time, both by myself, and with my friends and family. Nintendo does a great job of making Mario sports games. While they are not serious or realistic in any way, they are really fun to play.

Gameplay:

When you hear the name "Super Mario Strikers", what do you expect? You probably expect a soccer game with Mario characters. A game that isn't like your usual soccer video games. A game that involves lots of things that you wouldn't see in an actually soccer game, like (legal) hitting and tripping. You probably also expect there to be lots of items and power-ups to give you an edge over your opponents. And that is exactly what you get. Everything is over dramatized, like a good Mario sports game should be. It involves lots of funny and random things, such as the electric fences at then edges of the field that you can hit your opponents into. It is completely different than actual soccer, but the similar at the same time. It is a game that soccer fans and Mario fans alike will enjoy, and it is extremely fun to play.

Graphics:

The graphics fit the theme of the game perfectly. The graphics are cartoony and not realistic, but that is kind of the point of the game. Everything looks great for a Game Cube game, and still looks great today, even though the technology is much better now. After a goal, each character has their own signature celebration dance. The text style on the menus are really cool, the characters and items look great, each stadium is unique and well detailed, everything is just well done.

Sound:

Sound is not that important in this game, but it is still pretty darn good. Each character makes a different grunt noise when charging up their kicks, they all have their signature sounds when doing their special strikes, the items all having different noises, etc. The announcer doesn't really talk much, except when you or your opponent scores. This is a good thing in my opinion, because the announcers in the FIFA video games really annoy me. It would take away from the game if the announcer talked a lot. The menu music fits the game well, and the sound effects do as well.

Addictiveness:

This game is highly addictive. I still play it. Ever since I put the mini disc in my Game Cube and turned it on, I have been hooked. It is such a fun game, and I doubt you will be able to stop until you win all of the cups and unlock Super Team. Even then, you will still be addicted. How likely am I to play this game again? Very likely. In fact, I may just turn on my Game Cube and play a few matches as soon as I am done writing this review! Super Mario Strikers is a highly addictive game, and it is probably due to how much fun the game is to play.

Story:

Like most sports games, there really isn't a story. And that sucks for me, because it cuts a good 100 words out of my review. I mean, you have to try to beat all of the cups and beat the Super Team, but I don't know if I would consider that a story. So I left the story box blank.

Depth:

There is a lot that you can do in this game. There are eight cups, or tournaments, for you to beat. The first four are the Mushroom Cup, the Flower Cup, the Star Cup, and the Bowser Cup. If you have ever played Mario Kart, I bet you could have guessed the names of the first three. After you beat those, you unlock the other four cups, known as super cups. These are the Super Mushroom Cup, the Super Flower Cup, the Super Star Cup, and the Super Bowser Cup. Even after you beat all of the cups, there is still plenty to do. Since it is a sports game, it pretty much has unlimited replay value. You can just keep playing games either against the computer or against another person. You can also make your own custom tournament if you want to.

Difficulty:

I hate rating the difficulty on games that have a variety of game modes and/or a variety of difficulties to chose from. Super Mario Strikers is not an exception. There are four difficulties in this game. Novice (or Rookie, depending on which country you live in), Professional, Legend, and Superstar. Novice (or Rookie) is like a 1 on the Difficulty scale, while Superstar is like a 9. It is extremely easy on Novice/Rookie. So easy a caveman could do it. Superstar, though, is pretty darn hard. Each cup is a different difficulty. Mushroom being easy, and then getting progressively harder as you get towards Bowser. So all in all, this is a good game for everyone, regardless of whether you like easy and relaxing games or challenging and intense games.

In conclusion, Super Mario Strikers is a great game. It is well done in every aspect. The gameplay is not realistic, but it is very fun and pretty much exactly what you would expect from a Mario sports game. It is fun for both soccer fans and Mario fans. The graphics and sound fit the game nicely, and are overall well done. It is a highly addictive game, and it will have you playing it for a while. I even go back to it after having it for years! There is really no story, except that you want to be the best soccer team and beat the Super Team. There are eight cups that you have to try to win, and it has tons of replay value. It has 4 different difficulties, so it is good for everyone, regardless is you like easy games or challenging games. If you happen to see it on the shelf of a Game Stop or similar store and you do not have it already, I highly recommend buying it. Trust me, it is worth it.

That concludes my review! Thank you so much for reading! I hope I provided enough information about the game, but I wasn't too dry and boring. Please let me know what you think. If you like it, be sure to stop by the Super Mario Strikers game page and rate my review. Thanks again for reading!

Mario strikers to me is the best Mario Sport game. It is the most random and most chaotic sport game ever. Just like actual soccer anything can happen and that is the most realistic part of the game. The art design in Strikers makes the Mario character a lot menacing than other games in the series. They actually taunt each other and who can forget the Waluigi crotch chop. Mario Strikers SUDDEN DEATH theme for both games are my favorite. It gets me very excited and is probably the most intense I have felt in a Mario game. I agree the game is very addictive and I find it hard once I start playing it to get off of the game. The first game has no story at all just beat all the cups. Strikers Charged has only three cups which sucks but that doesn't really have a story unless you consider the strikers news that pops up as a story mechanic. Sport games don't need a lot of depth because as you said earlier you can make your own tournament and play against the CPU or human players. I also agree with you on Difficulty as it just depends on what difficulty you choose. most sport games have select difficulty. I liked this review and now I have to play strikers again.
