Nah, that would be too complicated. I think that would be really cool, I could show it to my mom then or maybe try it out myself once. If you could post one cake per two weeks I think that would be good, since you need a lot of free time to bake a cake. I support your idea!

I should try and make this. It doesn't look to hard to do (not trying to suggest anything about your baking skills or anything. Me and my dad are good at baking. Red velvet cake was the best cake my dad has made. I helped out a bit while doing it so I feel proud.

Eniitan : I think that's a great idea. If there was a baking forum, we could make it THE official baking thread, but sadly there isn't. I would love to have a cooking/baking forum. Also, if you're going to have your own shop, good luck! I just hope you have enough help that you don't work yourself too hard.

Glaceonwhisper : Why hello there. It seems you are back? You went inactive for a while. And don't worry I wasn't the best of the best when I started to bake. It takes time to get better on, so have a practice and give it a go. I may be lucky, but I've been doing this for years. Just start with something small and easy, like make normal biscuits or cakes. Work your way up, and if you don't get it right the first time, keep on trying until it comes I right. I believe most people have potential to bake. and anyone can bake if they put their mind to it. But first, we must all take baby steps, if you are a beginner at baking. ^-^

Hi everyone its eni here always trying to do whats best. I am not so good with teaching, but I will try. Today, I will show you how to make butterscotch icing from scratch. And without having to buy one from the store. These are the ingredients that you need to make it. btw please reply for me to be able to post the rest of the instructions if you can please. ^-^

You would need

Light brown soft sugar
Icing sugar
Vanilla extract < If you run out of this one buy another. I used almond extract that one is also good to use.
Baking butter < I use stork butter for mine.
Evaporated milk.

So...I'll explain my methods of how I bake. I don't use measure meant anymore. As it is in a way something I don't want to deal with it. I mean, I used to have one then the battery's kept on dying, or the measurement was too much. And was not on the right one. I didn't want to stress myself out for nothing. So I baked how I do it best. Without measurement. But I will put up measurement for those who does use them. For my auntys cake it was big so I had to double the size of the measurement.

I'll edit the measurement later, as I have been in the living room all day. heres the next instructions. You would need a pot to make the icing as it will be on the gas. If you have any like this one use it. Or use a fitable size that you are comfortable baking on.



Then in the pot put in butter, soft light brown sugar and evaporated milk, as you can see here on this picture.

Eniitan : You explained it well enough for me. The pictures also help. I don't have any pots like that, but I think one of the ones I have will suffice. After you finish this, when you answer cnw's question, I also have one: Is Icing sugar anything like confectioners' sugar?

Sorry for this step I tried to take pictures while on the gas. But it wasn't in good quality so I will explain. Put the pot on the gas, and turn it on. Make sure the gas is on between medium or low because you don't want the high heat to burn your icing at all cost. Use either a wooden spoon or a baking spatula if you have one. If you don't know what it looks like heres a pic of it.




So stir to incorporate the ingredients together. You will need to do this until the sugar has dissolves. And how would you know that? When you start to see bubbly foam and you only see that. Take it off the heat. And it would look like this pic bellow. Let it cool slightly for a few mins, and this is the next thing you have to do.


Put in the vanilla extract or the almond extract in the pot, once you let it cool slightly. Use a teaspoon to measure this one then put it into the pot and stir.

Next find your whisk and put it on the side of the pot. Get your icing sugar or confectioners sugar as you would say it. Then add some into the pot ruffly put a cup of it in. Then get your whisk to mix it in with the rest of the ingredients.



So when you have done that the icing should come out like this. This will be when you mix in the last two ingredients such as the flavoring and the icing sugar. Leave it to completely cool down.


And this is the result of what you should have. A stiff looking icing. Make sure to taste it to see how it is. If it is too stiff. You can add some water to make it more smoother. But beware don't add so much or it will become runny. And it will then take sometime before it stiffens back up. Find a container to out it in then store in a safe cool place for when you want to use it for cakes and more. ^-^

55grams of butter
100g of soft light brown sugar
90ml of evaporated milk
225g of confectioners sugar or icing sugar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or almond extract.
