Artemis.

Another interesting character from Bomberman 64.

Although she is defeated after her first encounter- she was far from unimportant, or unskilled. In fact, some fans find her even more annoying than Orion. I guess that it's a matter of opinion. I dunno, not sure how I wanted to meet my fate when I was a little boy. Get paralyzed, and thrown into lava, or have that lave thrown right at me.

But anyways, let's take a look at Artemis, shall we?

At the beginning of the game, she appears to be the first field commander, wrapping things up at Blue Resort. Although, this could be because this was her planet to protect and own as vassal to Altair's empire.

Blue Resort's planet has the highest human populace probably, and a decently advanced civilization, using gunpowder and such. In would make sense that Artemis would be the troops main trainer, what with Orion being the tech guy, and Regulas being. . .well. . . Regulas.

She certainly has the voice of a strict female commander who does NOT take excuses.

But why is she fairly different from the others? Sirius, Altair, Orion, and Regulas are all sort of united with armor and stuff, but Artemis lacks all that stuff. No armor, no gadgets, no nothing, just some red clothes and hair that makes her look like she's on fire.

(No, not that kind of on fire!)

She has a humanoid face, seen clearly in the game, but not in the illustrative art.

Here, have a look.

Quite contrasting to Orion's heavy suit and boots huh?

That's how she looks, in game, here's the actual art on her:

ARTEMIS

Huh, high heels.

I mean look, notice something?

Oh. . . I just noticed something!

she almost looks similar enough. . .and has the power of fire?!

I it possible that she could be related?

I dunno. . . my guess is a slight maybe. That might explain her fire powers.

But did you notice something about her appearance in the game compared to the illustrative art?

Her face is black in the illustrative art, but not in her actual in game appearance.

Aren't they called the masked trio?

Well, think about it. Artemis' "face" looks like it might be a mask, see how it comes down beyond her face?

And here's another thing. Notice that Artemis explodes when you defeat her?

What if Artemis is a cyborg of sorts? With the ability to place bombs, and use other powers, like hovering, she seems to be able to hover more easily than the other characters in the game, quickly jetting up, and down. Is this a supernatural power? Or is it just because she has better hovering boots? (well, they are kinda big . . )

My theory, (right now anyways) would be that she was once human, but some sort of accident made it necessary to change her into a cyborg. So she got a human mask, and cyborg body parts.

I may have some more to say, later, but do you have any thoughts?

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .
