When it comes to hip-hop, I prefer beats from the 90s to today's crap. I don't know why, but the Pete Rock/Primo sound has always been the thing that keeps me listening to rap. But now that those techniques are replaced by the mechanical sounds of Timbaland, I'm leaning more towards rock now.

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, I prefer rap or hip-hop with soul that sounds like this:
