November 18 2012 was the beginning of the Wii U. With 23 launch games, the Wii U was bound to be the best console Nintendo ever made. Actually, I was exaggerating, the Wii U SUCKS. The company's overpriced, High Definition, Non-portable, "portable" console is flopping on every corner. Arguments could be made on the Phillips CDi or the Commodore 64, but nobody expected this piece of failure to come from one of the best companies of all time, Nintendo. 1 year and a half after it's release, it sold somewhere about 5.86 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold 6 MILLION units in a matter of 4 MONTHS OR LESS. At least Wii U did better than the Virtual Boy, the worst console to ever be shown to man. If you don't believe me why the Wii U flopped, you can search up Wii U and see a plethora of people berating the console, OR you can see me list the facts why Wii U flopped. Let's get started, shall we?- Batteries- These days, we have these fancy charging stations, but the Wii U's 3 hour battery life just doesn't make it any better.
- Cost- The first version of the Wii U costs 300 dollars, but if you want a longer lasting battery life, $32! If you want to buy a Wii mote to play with friends? $40! You want to play a game that Nintendo didn't bother to bundle? $50 to $60! All together, that's over $430!
- Games- If you looked at the launch titles, most of them were on a earlier system JUST because the companies didn't know how to use the Wii U's technology correctly(not even Nintendo)!
- Technology- Do you remember why Nintendo decided to add the color red to the Virtual Boy? They did it to save on the production expenses. Nintendo relived the whole thing with the Wii U. They sacrificed their (HD)graphics so they could bundle some KINDLE LOOKING THING FOR A CONTROLLER.
If you still want to question me why the Wii U's game library weren't big enough, it was the other corporations. Corporation's want HUGE profits in the quickest of ways as possible. Porting a game to another system? Easy money, easy go. But porting a game to another console(Wii U) that requires extra screening, more workers, more resources, and more- FORGET IT. The Wii U would have been a commercial success if Nintendo haven't forgotten the mistakes they've done with the Virtual Boy! NOBODY MADE GAMES FOR THAT PIECE OF CRAP, NOBODY EVEN BOTHERED TO BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T KNOW HOW AND NOBODY WANTED TO INVEST TIME AND MONEY TO LEARN HOW. At the end, the Wii U flopped the same reason the Virtual Boy flopped, both were expensive, both had hardly any games, and the technology for the systems were expensive. If you want to hear the GOLDEN rule, those who forget their history, ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT. November 18 2012 was the beginning of the Wii U.
