I think The Legend of Zelda series is getting to easy and simple. They need to add harder bosses and tougher bosses. It would also be nice if they can make a world that exceeds the size of Skyrims or Xenoblades world and add more side quest. The game would be superb if that happened. Yeah i am obviously a huge Zelda fan and the games are great has they are but they should try something new. Spice the series up a little bit. What are your thoughts on the series?

Beastmode64 : My thoughts are exactly what you said. I completely agree with you here.

Zelda is a ggreat series overall in my opinion, but it just can be much better obviously.

Hopefully in the future games they may mix it up a bit.

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

Depends on what you mean exactly. If you mean a bigger world with more exploration available, I agree that it could be fun.

However, if you mean it should be more sanbox-like, then I don't think so. I like sandbox sometimes, but some games tend to be too open ended, and leave you with so many things that you can do, that it makes you not want to do anything. It can just all start to feel pointless.

Also I definitely don't want more side quests, as that's my biggest problem with the RPG world: I came to save the world, not retrieve this little girl's dolly, finish an old lady's shopping, fix some guy's fishing reel, and rescue pets from trees. lol Side quests are okay in moderation, but I don't like anything to take me away from the main story of the game too much.

However, as I've said many times before: I'm a sucker for exploration. So yeah, despite the cool things that you can discover in some Zelda games, I do think the worlds feel a little too linear. Like what are the odds that there's really going to be only one single pathway through Faron woods? Ever heard of a nature walk? You could easily take your horse through the woods at several locations. And why did we have to fly through that horrible cave tunnel in TP to get to Lake Hylia? That bird could have easily flown over it, since the lake wasn't enclosed in a dome. Things like this annoy me a bit, as the path is entirely preselected. It doesn't hurt the fun factor of the games, but it does hold them back I think.

So basically, I agree with the larger world idea, but not so much the side quests or sanbox ideas. And yeah, some harder bosses would be fine by me as well, especially if they would give us more sword fighting themed bosses. That would make this fan very happy. lol

Oh okay. That I would like to see. I'm game for more fights and temples, and especially more exploration. I always love the boss fights, though some of the temples/dungeons are more of a necessary evil at times. lol I enjoy the minor challenges for sure.

I think they could give us a larger world to explore with interesting areas to explore. Though, I don't really do the side quests I understand they've become part of the games since ALttP, but I think they could use improvement. There are players that don't like that these side quests distract from the storyline, so side quests that have some connection to the storyline might ease this feeling of disconnection with the story involving. For example, you're riding across the fields when suddenly you see a massive moblin enslaving a town of blacksmiths, forcing them to create weapons and armor for ganondorf's armor. Unfortunately, the massive moblin is too much for you alone in your current state, so you wait until nightfall when he sleeps, then in the cover of night you silent pick off the moblins guarding the blacksmiths. After freeing the blacksmiths they show you a powerful cannon that they've built, and after help them moving into position, taking out any guards before they spot you, the cannon is lit and fires at the sleeping giant moblin. Unsurprisingly he wakes up, ready to kill the blacksmiths. But that cannon weaken him enough for you to take him down and save the village. If you had ignored the incident a greater number of armored moblins would be around.

To this day, the original Legend of Zelda is still my favorite.  I never cared for Zelda II, but I liked the Super Nintendo Zelda, and I've always been a big fan of the Gameboy installments in the series.  To be honest, I haven't been a real big fan of the games in the series on the main consoles since the Super Nintendo.  I know a lot of people liked the N64 games, but I thought they were so-so at best, and while I own all of the games in the series, I don't really feel that any of the games in recent years have lived up to the original installments in the series (For the record, I feel the same way about the Metroid series.  The first one was great, I liked pretty much all of the Gameboy installments, and the SNES game, but I was never able to get into the Prime series.)

So instead of side quests, you really mean like, bonus content and dungeons.
That would be an interesting thing to put in zelda games. Like the Cave of Ordeals in Twilight Princess, filled with enemies that get stronger as you descend. I like that idea. The CoO was harder than Ganondorf himself, I mean fighting 4 darknuts at once was pretty epic.

Moar bonus content!
