A good formula I think would be

week post count / 7 = cost of stocks

A good way to get a more average post count, especially since one day the post count could be 10 and the next day it could be 80.

Well it would really depend on how much you make them worth. If they are worth 1 per post average per day for the week, then that may be a bit too high a number.

But yeah, with the 75% payout you have to get it so much higher that it really wouldn't be worth buying them with so few people that are active.

Activity has pick up heaps during the last few weeks.
If we have 2 days of high posting action the price of the stock would rise, assuming then we dont have a day of no posts.

And if you give a limit of 100 I could just avoid posting at all for a week or two and hope activity dies down then buy all I could and spam the place up. 100 just sounds like way too many.

The 75% thing should stay, I really don't want it to be a way for members to make thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of Viz, otherwise it just ruins the value of Viz.

Lets say activity is an average of 40 posts a day, which it sorta is now...that's 40 Viz per a stock - I buy 8, so that's 320 Viz. Now if the activity averages 100 posts a day, which is very well possible, than that means you have 800 Viz worth of stocks and you sell them, you get 600 Viz...that's still 280 Viz profit. Or if you hold on to them, the activity here will one day be greater than what it was, and the record was about 500 posts on average for a single week (i'll let you guys do the math on that one).

Either way, people are gonna try and cheat the system as much as possible and I want to limit it as to how much Viz you can make off of it....I don't want a person to go from the 4 digits to the 6 digits in a weeks time.


Also, instead of making a separate store for stocks, we'll just wait until we make it so that members can own more than 1 item per a store (as we've talked about several times before).

What would you think if lets say MVash made 50,000 Viz off the stockmarket in a matter of 1 month, would you think there should be a limitation on the stock market than?

Like I said, I don't want to ruin the value of Viz. If I make it that easy to gain, than there's no fun in earning it any more and it loses it's value. Afterall, that'd be a lot of extra coding just to make it so stocks are the only item where you get 100% your money back. Lets just be glad you get 75% back for your items, by default the item shop was at 50% when I purchased it but I demanded it to be at 75%.

Its not ruining the value of viz, its just like real life stock markets.
But I do agree with you though.
8 should be the max. I dont think i fully agree with the 75% thing. That means if we had 75 posts a week, you have to wait untill its 100 posts a week (i think..) just to get your money back.

Well it depends on how cheap you bought them and how expensive you sold them. It's not benefiting the board if someone makes 100,000+ Viz just from the Stock Market because the way it was before, someone could have easily made that much in 3-6 months.

I was never saying we should be able to buy 100, 8 was pretty much fine by me. Bobby said 100. Plus we are taking the average post per day for the last week, which will greatly effect the change in value. It will make it much harder to raise prices a lot.
