I have played every single one of the Uncharted games and i have to say that this one is my favorite one of them all. I know the graphics for the 3rd game are better and that there is really more to do, but I kind of have a history with this game and I spent more time on this game than on amy of the other games in the series. I even watched a friend beat the entire game before I tried and then I went on to beat it twice on my own.
I did not intend on buying the game when it first came out. My plan was to wait a few months and then try to get it for a cheaper price. However, my friend got the game the day it was released and beat it in 2 weeks. I watched every minute of his journey and decided that the wait wasn't worth it so I just bought the game new. If I had waited, I could have saved about 10 dollars, but at the moment, I was glad that I did not wait.
First, let's talk about the graphics, which combined with the controls are what made the game enjoyable for me. What I really liked about the graphics was the movement and character animation. The way that the characters and surroundings looked, combined with their motions made it feel as if I was watching an HD movie, especially during the cut scenes and some of the combat and action scenes. The enhanced motion makes some actions loom much better in this game than they would in others such as climbing sequences and stealth kills. To me, the graphics of the game get a perfect score.
As for the story, the game begins with Nathan injured in a train that is hanging off the edge of a cliff. A large portion of the game then takes place during the events that lead up to this. The story is about Nathan, who goes on an epic and unexpected journey through the Himalayas to recover a powerful stone before it lands in the wrong hands. Nathan gets helped by a few allies, he gets shot at my numerous foes, and the journey is one of epic proportions. For the story, I give the game a 10.
Next we are going to work with the Addictiveness of the game which works out really well for this game. This is one of the games where I would not mind dying half way through a mission just so I can do some scenes over again. I really like the first scene where you must climb up cliff through the train cars, I really like the scene that leads up to this when you are on top of the train running towards the front, and I like a bunch of others scenes as well. Once you finish the game, I am almost positive that there will be a few scenes that you want to do over, or maybe even the whole game. The game is super addicting because it is so much fun and because of this, addictiveness gets a perfect score
As for the depth, there isn't really much to do outside of the mission. You are mostly confined to what you are "supposed" to do. However, this is fine to me because there ate so many things that you ate "supposed" to do. There are so many locations and tasks that you must complete that you don't really need anything else. Because of this, I consider the game to have a decent amount of depth and I give it an 8 out of 10 for a grade.
I held the sound portion a bit because there is not really much to talk about. There is some really good voice acting from all of the characters and some of the songs such as the main theme are really good. There isn't much more to the sound category and for a grade, I also give it an 8 out of 10.
Lastly we talk about the difficulty of the game. It might take some time to learn the controls and which button does what, and some missions might need to be done multiple times, but the game is easy to get a hang if and for difficulty, I rate this game as a 5.
Overall, this game was really fun to play and it was fun to look at as well. My overall score for this game is a 9.2 and I believe there are some people who would believe this game deserves a score above 9.
