Today's review will be on the video game based on the Pixar movie - The Incredibles. This game really lives up to it's potential.

Please note that this game is pretty much an interactive version of the film with you doing the beating up of the bad guys and all that.

Starting off with the Graphics, Game Boy Advance game, yet it's got stills from the movie. It's definitely a good feature if it does that. Bear in mind many other Pixar titles do this also, e.g. Finding Nemo. But it is definitely a nice touch as it makes you feel like you are actually playing through the movie yourself. The colours are also very nice as most games do not have such unique shades.

Sound is a high point of this game but not the highest, it has interesting music and hearing the comical sound effects the game has to offer make it that much more heroic and daring. A little bit of criticism here however, the sounds are scarce, meaning there aren't many outside of the music and the comical sound effects, but a good job nonetheless.

Addictiveness is a tough one to rate, especially on a game like this, consider the fact you're playing it for a while, decide to quit about half an hour later, when you get back to resume the game (assuming you closed the Vizzed window) You find you have to start all over again unless you wrote or typed the password at the start of the level. I personally have done this with other games and found it irritatingly frustrating, especially when I'm close to finishing a game I've just spent 3 - 4 hours on.

Story as I had mentioned earlier plays the same as the movie of which the game is based upon. You do get to control different characters however which makes it feel less of a drag playing as Mr. Incredible all the time.

Depth, not that deep as this is based off a Disney Pixar movie, it's not dramatic as some other games I have played. But I guess you could say it is a rather interesting game for the younger children who like and believe in superheroes and super villains.

Difficulty is a progressive thing, the further into the game you go, obviously the harder it will get, but personally I found the enemies that have projectile weapons to be hard to beat surprisingly. But with good practice you should be able to manage through the game with relative ease.

Overall a pretty nice game for the younger ones, a solid 8 from me.

Positives

Easy to play once you know what you're doing
Plenty of bad guys to beat up, sometimes up to 7 at once

Negatives

A tad repetitive playing as Mr. Incredible all the time, but you do get the chance to play as others, just not as much.

I loved the computer game for The Incredibles, I hadn't thought that there might be a GBA game! I'm going to check it out. How often would you say you get to play as Mr. Incredible versus the other characters? Are the levels very long?
Nice review! I enjoyed reading it!

EideticMemory : Hi! Thanks for commenting, I'd say you play as Mr Incredible for roughly 80% of the game, and each level is divided into worlds e.g. the city, the jungle, Syndrome's lair. So not very very long, but they can be repetitive. If you'd like I can do a full level list with playable characters when I get home from college.
