Hey everyone! I'm back with, yeah, another review. This time around, I'm reviewing one of my favorite games of all time, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter for the Sony Playstation 2. There is also a port to the Nintendo Gamecube, but I'm only reviewing the PS2 version. This game is obviously a Star Wars game. You play as Jango Fett just before when the second episode of Star Wars takes place, the Attack of the Clones. Your goal in this game is to hunt some of the most wanted bounties in the galaxy. Anyways, onto the review.

The graphics of Star Wars Bounty Hunter are pretty good, but not perfect. There are many, many different textures for everything and most of them are detailed pretty well. There is a lot of action at once many times, sometimes having at least 10 enemies shooting at you at the same time. However, it maintains a pretty good job of reducing lag. I very rarely experience lag while playing this game. The animation is also very smooth. Sorry, but I really can't think of anything else to say about this game's graphics. I give the graphics an 8.

Sound - 9

Well, I have 2 words for you: it's Star Wars . The music is really well made, as well as the sound effects. Every track describes the event almost perfectly - Calm/No music when there are no enemies around, epic "oh no!" music when enemies are shooting you, mysterious/mystic music when you're near enemies but they don't see you yet. Pretty much every song is totally awesome. The sound effects are pretty cool as well. I give the sound a 9.

Gameplay/Addictiveness - 8.5

This is by far the best part of the game. So, yeah, you're a bounty hunter. Your main goal is, well, to hunt bounties. There's a few major bounties you go hunting for in the game, and each of them have henchmen dudes that try to kill you. You, however, have an awesome arsenal. You have 2 custom guns for Jango, some Kamino Saberdarts (extremely deadly and poisonous darts), a flamethrower, wire to tie people up, a bounty locator, and all this other cool stuff.

What's the point of a bounty locator, you may ask? If you use it, you can zoom in onto characters in the level and mark them as bounties. You can then either kill them and take their body, or wrap them up and take their body. Doing this is optional and only gives you credits, but it still provides some more entertainment and possibly a little more challenge (considering sometimes you have to look for bounties while enemies are still shooting at you).

So, yeah, there's large, fairly long levels that you go through mashing the square button as fast as you can while aiming at enemies. You also use your awesome-sauceome jetpack to use some platforming skills and sometimes run away from enemies. Yes, platforming is mandatory in this game, especially in Tusken Canyon (the hardest level in the game, requiring extremely pro platforming skills).

So this game is very entertaining to play. Because of that, you can keep coming back to play it many times and still have loads of fun, especially in Tusken Canyon because you will never be able to complete it, resulting in you playing that level for eternity. I give the gameplay/addictiveness an impressive 8.5.

Story - 8

I really like the story, even for a Star Wars game. Basically, you're the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, Jango Fett, and you're looking for bounties. However, you happen to have 1 rival: The only other Mandalorian alive, Montross. During the first chapter, you are hunting for 2 specific bounties: Meeko Ghintee and Jervis Gloom. After you capture both of them, you receive a message from Darth Tyranus (Count Dooku). He notifies you of Komari Vosa, the most wanted bounty in the entire galaxy, who is the believed leader of the Bando Gora cult. If captured, you will be rewarded a whole 5 million credits. So, yeah, Jango goes on a hunt for Komari Vosa, occasionally interrupted by Montross. I give the story a snazzy looking 8.

Depth - 7.8

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is a fairly long game, but it's not what I word consider exceptionally long. There are actually only 18 levels across 6 chapters (each chapter being in a different world), but each level is quite long, taking from 15-30+ minutes completing each. So, no, it's not that long, but it's not really that short either. I give the depth a 7.8.

Difficulty - 9

We're nearing the end of the review, being at the last section before the overall section. This game would be very hard to someone without practice. First off, I better tell you that you get 5 lives in each level. Most of the first levels are fairly easy, of course, but after about the first chapter, everything becomes much harder. I'd have to say the toughest levels are when you're in Tatooine and when you're in the last chapter, on Kohlma.

On Kohlma, the only enemies are Bando Goras. Bando Goras are creepy black shadow figures that like to crawl all over you and shoot poison darts at you, both dealing massive amounts of damage. Keep in mind that Bando Goras are NOT only on Kohlma, so they bring a large challenge in some other levels.

I'm sure you remember me talking about Tusken Canyon, the impossible level. There are wolf things that like to rip you to shreds, there are Tusken Raiders that like to snipe your head off, there are even invaders that like to blast you to pieces. But worst of all, there are enemies that shoot homing rockets at you while you're flying. If one hits you, you're health meter is empty. If you're not dead, you'll be falling to the bottom of the canyon until you die. Yeah, it's a reaaaally hard level.

Anyhow, since almost all of the levels are pretty hard, I give the difficulty a 9.

Overall - 8.8

Overall, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is a very entertaining game. The graphics are great, the music is wonderful, and it's just a really fun game to play overall. The story is great as well, and it's fairly long so you will be entertained for awhile. However, the game is very hard and I would not recommend it to a beginner (though they can at least try it out). Overall, I give this game an impressive 9.

Thanks for reading my review. Feel free to criticize my review.
