So you know how the battle square works in FFVII, you get to go through 8 battles with each battle a roulette comes out that can have a different effect such as a status effect, less hp, or and mp, downgraded weapon or armor, sealed materia or item, no handicap, cure, speed down, level down by 5 or 10 levels or TimeX30 which I think maybe increases your max hp. So how to tackle it is to use a good character at a good level with their ultimate weapon, god armor, and use a ribbon as an accessory to bypass those pesky status effect come outs since is you get one like poison, frog or mini, the ribbon will null those effects leaving you more chances to keep going. But it won't stop slow so make sure you have time materia to handle the slow status. Also bring recover with at least the regen option unlocked for if your materia should be locked. Also don't take too much materia or it will sap you health. Take a lot of command and support materia since they don't require anything. Take slash-all but not with flash since that wont work on all monsters. Bring plus materia to improve even more on your stats. And for items, take ethers and hi potions since they can be bought and are helpful if your mp is dropped to 0 or if you need to heal. This helped me get the Omnislash very quickly using this technique so I though I would share it for others who are struggling.
