When volcanic ash darkened the atmosphere, it is said that Volcarona's fire provided a A sea of fire engulfs the surroundings of their battles, since they use their six wings to scatter their ember scales. Thought to be an embodiment of the sun, it appeared during a bitterly cold winter and saved Pok?mon from freezing. All this and more is said by the epic moth of legend, Volcarona. This is a bug and fire type naturally, the addition of fire nullifies the main buggy weakness of fire. But then it amplifies the other main weakness of rock... so that sucks. On top of that it's defense sucks and rock moves are generally physical moves, so... oops? ANother unrelated oops moment is that Vizzed apparently doesn't know the word "moth". Things I should note about it before moving into stats, it's ability is flame body which may burn the opponent if a direct hit is made and it has the hidden ability swarm, IF YOU'RE STUPID. You could do damage every turn and half the burned enemy's attack power OR do extra work in finding it with it's hidden ability to do more bug damage at low health. Well personally I dunno how you find the hidden ability, but I figure it's a downgrade no matter what. Also it evolves from Larvesta. In X and Y you find one in the friend safari and evolve it at level 59, while in black and white you can get a Larvesta egg in route 18 yet still receive a level 70 Volcarona in the bottom and center of the relic castle maze. Black 2 and white 2 have a Volcarona in there too, and there are 2 ways to get it. One is to find the level 35 Volcarona and catch it there, OR beat it before the elite 4 and then after becoming champion go again and have a rematch this time at level 65. HP 85: Pretty good. Attack 60: Terrible, but you won't need to worry much about physical moves. Defense 65: Also bad, a good rock type move could take this thing out in one hit... Sp Attack 135: The main stat of Volcarona is a doozy! Think of it this way... 20 more points and it could be higher than normal Mewtwo or Mewtwo X! Sp Defense 105: Well that relieves us of the utter pain of distant flying and water attacks, but throw a solid object at it or hit that sucker up close and it's down and out. Speed 100: This moth can and will outrun most guys on the field. Next is movepool of course, now what would a good pokemon be without good moves? It would be a Magikarp on steroids. Lvl. 10 Leech Life: Don't like this move? Deal with it, you have to wait 9 or 10 levels for each new move. Lvl. 20 Gust: 40 damage, 100 accuracy. That's all we have going for it. Fortunately it knows great moves from level 1, including some moves it will learn later or moves not learnable otherwise. Lvl. 30 Fire Spin: 35x1.5 damage, 85 accuracy, for 4-5 turns it is as if the opponent were burnt. Keep it or leave it, I don't care. But hey at least it isn't the last learnable move like charizard's case. Lvl. 40 Whirlwind: You know what this move is for? Rock types. Keep it and hold it with your dear life... Lvl. 59 yeah 59 Quiver Dance: This move was made for Volcarona, it raises Sp Attack, Sp Defense, and Speed. Lvl. 60 Heat Wave: I would say this is Volcarona's signature move, but it ain't. 95x1.5 damage, 90 accuracy, put volcarona in your 2nd slot if you are going to a triple battle cuz Heat Wave hits the entire team! This is better than the move at Lvl. 100! Lvl. 70 Bug Buzz: 90x1.5 damage, 100 accuracy, may lower the target's Sp Attack. Good move. Lvl. 80 Rage Powder: I'm raging right now! This move is like Follow Me but for bugs! You would wait this long for THIS crap!? Well yeah, wen gras pokemos ar hiting yor pingwen frend pliplipup... Lvl. 90(this better be good) Hurricane: This is a great flying move used by the likes of Tornadus! Him and Swanna, but who gives one? 110 damage(used to be 120) and 70 accuracy, may confuse the target. Not very good for fighting those rocks though, take it but I would rather have the epic Heat Wave, or maybe the final move... Lvl. 100 Ok we've waited SO LONG. Now the signature move for Volcarona is Fiery Dance! Even the descr Cloaked in flames, the user dances and flaps its wings. It may also raise the user's Sp. Atk stat. It does... 80x1.5 damage and 100 accuracy? Well that's not even as good as heat wave... YOU KEPT US THINKING IT GOT BETTER WHEN IT JUST WENT DOWNHILL FROM THERE? Screw this, just take Heat Wave, the new Flamethrower Now I went on for a while, so I'll skip the TM's and go straight to my recommendation. It would of course know Heat Wave and Bug Buzz, also I would teach it Roost by TM for some insurance. It has a silver powder if you catch it in black, white, black 2, and white 2, so hold onto that or give it a charcoal. I would recommend Fly over Hurricane due to only a 20 damage difference and 100 accuracy. Also you probably need to get to that next towns pokecenter quick . Now the part for SUPER SERIOUS HARDCORE pokefans. 250 EV's in both Sp Attack and Sp Defense, and leave the last 10 for speed. SUN GOD! That's all for now, thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this, I also recommend seeing my other threads for more reviews and other stupid stuff, also check out relinquish022, the original father of the poke reviews. Now the first 3 reviews have been good ones, as for the next one, well, not so much... but you'll have to wait and see...
