There's a lot of cool weapons in games, sure. But this is about those ones that get overlooked because they're tough to handle. You know what I'm talking about- Half the players never touch it, but the ones who learn to use it are a sight to behold.
One I liked was the vampire gun from Turok- Rage Wars. Now, my memories of the game are kinda fuzzy, but if I remember right, it drained health from your enemies, which was cool. But it drained your own health if either you just had it out and didn't use it, or if you fired when someone wasn't in the crosshairs.
A more recent example- The Glaive and Kestrel throwing weapons from Warframe. Unlike 90% of the melee weapons in the game, they didn't help in close combat. But you could throw them, deal a boatload of damage to someone across the map (or to several someones, if you had puncture, or made use of the ricochet).
So, what are your favorites?
Edit- Huh. I thought I'd put this in the right section, but it appears not. Shoot. How do I move it?
