Today I'm reviewing this rather obscure GB game: "Trip World". It never had a release in the US making it a very valuable piece amongst cartridge collectors all over the world. You will find a huge similarity between Kirby's Dreamland, but don't let the game's silly look fool you. This game is CHALLENGING. I gave up on trying to beat this the legit way, I had to constantly F2 through the game or else I would have to restart the whole thing (I'm not proud of myself). Alright, no more stalling the subject, here is my review:

Graphics: 9

The overall look of the game is very charming, it has the same Kirby Dreamland sort of feeling. Even for a standard black'n white GB game, they managed to make the background sharp and clear, I especially like the transition between scenarios and each enemy's unique look, which correspondent to their moves.

Sound: 7

Not surprisingly, the songs and sounds bear a striking resemblance to Kirby's Dreamland. They are catchy, but that's it, pretty standard for this type of game IMO.
The game sounds does it job, but it feels as if there isn't much of a variety in them. I noticed a lot of sounds being re-used for different actions, but that's more of a personal complaint.

Addictiveness: 8

This game strikes on turning yourself into your own arch-enemy. There were so many occasions in which I got mad to myself for dying in such a ridiculous manner, I unconsciously got better at each game reset. Because this is a challenging game, I would suggest playing this in a real GB, but the odds of you ever finding a original cartridge are so low you should probably scratch that.

Story: 6

You are a little bunny creature that lives with his grandfather on a mountain that guards this flower with special powers that keeps peace to the land. And typically, the bad guy comes along, steals the artifact, and then the whole thing starts going downhill from there. Basically, they gave you enough information to give you an objective to look forward.

Depth: 7

Not a long game by itself, it can be beaten in less than a hour or so as there are only 5 Worlds in it. But as I stated before this is extremely challenging, and I really doubt someone will beat this at their 1st, 2nd, or even 50th try (or maybe I suck at this?).

Difficulty: 8

I think I have said enough times now how challenging this game is, but just to give a clear look: the stages aren't that hard to get through, the monsters aren't that hard to beat and will hardly take a dim out of your life. Then why is it SO hard you ask? Probably because of each of the 5 bosses unique attack pattern, you will die constantly trying to figure out how to beat them effectively, and if that wasn't enough once you lose your three sets of life the game restarts.

I really like the nice clean look of your layout along with the format of your review.  Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this up, and I appreciated your opinion!  The only thing I wish on my part, was that I had played the game you compared it to.  That probably would have helped me understand better, but that's not your fault!  I need to expand my horizons.  LOL

Anyways, keep up the good work, please!  We need more quality reviews and I know that you can even improve on what you've done!  Good luck and God bless!
