I loved Disney and Don Bluth's work
growing up so I was excited to see a game featuring An American Tail.
Sadly I have to say something I never thought I'd say for a game. The
controls were way to easy as was the game.



Yeah, that's probably one of the oddest
things you'll hear anyone say about a game. I had no problem taking
out enemies. It wasn't a struggle to jump from place to place. It was
easy to collect health as well as the points. Actually, it's easy to
increase your score as the enemies do respond. It was far from a
challenge.



Now, some people may be thinking...
well, this sounds like an easy game for a quick play through. The
controls are easy, but the graphics were horribly bland as well as
repetitive. I wanted to see the world that was created in the
American Tail movies, but the charm just wasn't there.



There wasn't an interesting story or
the exploration of America's history through the eyes of Fival. I
mean, the story consists of finding a bunch of map pieces and running
through a side scroll game through, as I said... boring graphics.



And the sound. I know mice squeak, but
do you have to make it so annoying? Fival squeaked in the movies and
wasn't anywhere near that... maybe annoying isn't the right word. The
pitch just really grated on my nerves whenever I heard it.

Well this was a good review, it was short and focused on the main topic at hand. Yet I never heard of this game so I may try it out. Anyway you did a good job making this review so keep up the good work and I hope to see more from you!

poke-fan-1900 : Yeah the graphics were pretty bad! I mean cmon..The gameboy can have way better graphics than that!

An American tale fieval goes west is one of my favorite childhood movies. Unfortunately, almost every game made after a movie is a waste of time. The picture here of Wiley burp looks ridiculous. It is like they are laughing at my childhood. Thanks for the review, I will probably stay away from this one.

Nice job with the review. The only complaint I had was the way you have your text laid out, it's a little odd to read.

As far as the game itself goes, while growing up in the 80's and 90's I found out early that licensed games made from movies usually wind up being bad. Based on the screen shots from this game, I can already tell it's not that great.
