I'm playing Banjo-Tooie on the 1964 emulator. There have been a few glitches thus far, but most of them not a big deal. However, one has completely broken the game. The gate on the plateau (near the mines and the hive) with the fire egg switch above it does not function. No matter where I shoot the eggs, the switch will not trigger, and I can't go past the second world unless I pass that gate. Yes, I was using fire eggs. The Mupen64Plus emulator does not recognize my controller, and so is basically unplayable.

Is there some way to cheat/glitch my way past this door? Or is there a way to make my controller work on the Mupen64Plus emulator instead? I'm using a USB adapter for my N64 controller.

Or would the European version work better? I ask instead of just going for it because I've already invested several hours into the game.
