Overall (3.5)

I'm going to come right out and say that Frantic Flea is a terrible game. I was wondering why it had less than 100 plays - then I played it. Of all of the games that I've played, this is one of the worst. The object of the game is to try to save all of the mini fleas from the bad guys. Frantic Flea is a side-scrolling game. There are a lot of great side-scrolling games like Mario and Kirby. Frantic Flea is not one of those games. It is zoomed in way too much so you can barely see what's in front of and behind you.

Graphics (7)

The graphics aren't that bad. It has a unique cartoon style. However, it has a very simple appearance. There are only a few simple colors used over and over again. Most things are only one color, so it looks like it was done with the bucket option on Paint. The foreground consists of you, the other fleas, the villains, and an occasional machine here and there. It is very basic.

Sound (7)

The sound effects are bad. Very bad. They are very basic noises that lack any kind of characteristics that distinguish them from other noises an make them unique. The music, however, is actually pretty catchy. It has a lot of drum and heavy bass.

Addictiveness (3)

Am I likely to play this game again? HA! Definitely not! It is a very boring game with few levels. I'd rather watch Elmo than play this game! (Ok maybe not Elmo, but you get the idea). Nothing about this game caught my interest and made me want to continue playing.

Story (2)

I was debating on whether or not to leave this blank, but I decided there is somewhat of a story. You are a flea who is trying to protect the other fleas from evil bugs called Insideos. The Insideos are enslaving all of the fleas in Flea World (the world is not given a name, so I decided to make one up).

Depth (2)

There are only six levels. No that was not a typo. There are only SIX LEVELS. There is barely any depth to this game at all. The only thing that stops you from beating the whole game in five minutes is the difficulty (I'll get to that in a minute). This game has about as much depth as Pac-man. And is a lot less fun.

Difficulty (10)

This game is incredibly hard. Like I said before, it is zoomed in way too much. You'll be walking and all of a sudden BAM an enemy appears. An before you have any time to attack, you're dead. Once you die, all of the fleas get scattered around the level. It takes around four hits to defeat an enemy, but they can kill you in one. And even if you manage to somehow defeat an enemy, they regenerate! And, to top it all off, the fleas that you are trying to save apparently want to die. Whenever you go near them, they run away.

Frantic Flea is a terrible game. I DO NOT recommend playing it. It is unnecessarily hard, has terrible graphics, bad sound effects, only six levels, a small and very lame story, and is just overall bad. I hope I did a good job convincing you to never ever play this game.

It was rcarter2: (I hope the summon worked) idea to have me review this game. Did I do a good job rcarter?

Sounds like a terrible game  but you put  the game into a great review though! I think you put in lots of details for this review! Also it was pretty funny the way you said you'd rather watch Elmo than play this game! So this was a good review yet this game isn't so popular so I'm guessing not many people will play this game after they read this review though. Any way you did a great job and keep up the good work and make some more good reviews! I also think the summon didn't work though , still this was pretty good to read!

I think the review is pretty solid. Don't quite share the same opinion, but to each his own I find it kinda fun. At first, I didn't. But once I really got the hang of some of the tricks, it is better. For instance, it can take a lot to beat enemies. But when you have little fleas following you, it helps a lot. They do what you do. When you do your tornado attack, so do they. So if you have 4 to 5 fleas following you, and you hit an enemy with the tornado attack, the enemy ends up getting hit a total of 6 times.

The only thing I would want to comment on is that you said the game was only 6 levels. That is not the case. There are 6 worlds, each 3 levels. Then the final boss stage. So that would make 19 levels. And each world is different, so it isn't really the same background repeated over and over. It makes me wonder if you played through the whole thing.

rcarter2 : I didn't play through the entire thing. I couldn't beat the third level (I tried for a while), so I googled how many levels there were. A few sources, one of the being Wikipedia, said that there were six levels. I decided to write that since it was said on multiple sites. 19 levels still isn't a lot though. I probably shouldn't have written the review if I couldn't play through the entire thing, but you recommended it so I tried to do it anyway. I played enough to know that I didn't like it and get every detail except depth.

For only playing 3 levels, it is not a bad review. But not playing all levels does hinder the ability to review depth and graphics. One thing that can prove useful in a case where you are reviewing something but having trouble getting through the game is making good use of the save state feature. Make a save state often, and just jump back when you make a mistake. That way you don't start over the whole level, just jump back about 10-30 seconds. Makes beating any game a snap.

The levels do get longer though. If played all in one setting, it can take you a good 30-45 minutes if you do everything perfectly.
