For many people, fighting and violence have been part of our lives throughout history; as far as back many of us can remember or as many of us can look up; "street fighting" as well as "martial arts" and other forms of combat have existed through our time. Fighting was always a way to "release" and "restore", but at the same time; it is also a way to stand up for what is right, yet while doing something wrong.

When it comes to games like this one, fighting is designed for those who have a purpose; those who have something important to say or do, but cannot solve it by normal means. Tekken is the game that started one of the biggest fighting definitions throughout our history, although there have been many "Beat 'Em Up" type of games before Tekken; this game is the one that made it all possible and doubled up the gaming generation tenfold.

This game has started a long history of pure butt-kicking fiesta, and whether you use it to have fun; or to release some built up anger, this game will be enjoyable no matter what. (Although the newer ones are much better for some, but these older ones are best for me).

Graphics - 6/10
Like I have said time and time again, many of the PSone games have always had that block-like look to them; having a very smooth but "Minecraft" looking appeal. In a way, these were the games that made it all possible; these were the games that said "You know what, let's try something different..." And since then, Tekken has been one of the best games to ever be created; and many of the characters exist in our future gaming generation of PS3 and Xbox 360. For many people, the graphics are like a delicate shape; combined with other delicate and smooth shapes to make a figure and a character that can knock you down to the ground in a single hit.

Sound - 7/10
One of the most honorable reasons why this game is highly loved by many, generally dates back to the soundtracks that these games had. Each area had a special soundtrack, mostly containing a very "ambient" and "calm" feeling; often allowing you to smile even when you know you are losing. In most cases, you might just end up turning off "blocking damage" and just blocking the entire time so you can hear the music; and believe me, there was so much more to enjoy besides just the music.

Addictiveness - 9/10
Along with many other "beat 'em up" type of games, Tekken has proved to be one of the most addictive to say the least; and to add onto this, Tekken has continued to be reproduce time and time again for the many fans. Heck, they even created a "Street Fighter X Tekken" game; allowing two of the biggest "beat 'em up" games to go head-to-head in an all out slobberknocker. Both of these game series even knocked many of the WWE games off the charts, showing truly how much people enjoy a classic BEAT 'EM UP. But as I have said, there is a good reason why this game is so addictive; whether you want to be the hero type of guy like "King"; who fights to help orphans or you want to be the evil Heihachi; the stories are interesting, the game is exciting and the battles are rough.

Story - 5/10
Since I mentioned stories earlier, may I remind you; this game brought the concept of each character having it's own ending, it's own background story; and with many of the newer games, some of these characters tie into one another. Whether you are Kazuya trying to beat our father Heihachi or even King trying to practice with your Sensei Armor King; the stories are indeed fascinating and many of them show what it means to be a real fighter and to have something WORTH fighting for.

Depth - 6/10
Throughout this game, you have a wide range of modes; and in many of the newer games, the modes had become more and more "special" from gamer to gamer. Whether you want to go bowling in "Tekken Tag Tournament" or even do some level clearing in "Tekken 4"; the options are wide and the choices may leave you amazed. Oh, and let's not forget; nearly every single Tekken game comes with a PRACTICE option; where you can adjust to your character and get as much practice as you want. And last but not least, one of the most fascinating things about the entire Tekken series is the level of combos you an make; whether you want to do a "Suplex Powerbomb Spinebuster Backbreaker" or even a flurry of fist shots; the combos become exciting to watch.

Difficulty - 7/10
Specifically for this game, since the controls are a bit "sloppy" I should say; it is a little more complex when it comes to winning, as you progress through the Tekken series, it becomes so much easier and yet at the same time... so much more difficult than I can possibly explain. All I can honestly say is, this game was easy for me; but for many of you, it may be one of your hardest battles yet.

Very nice introduction, and the review overall is nice too.
It's good in length, the choice in wording is good... Really nice!

I used to have Tekken for the PlayStation as well, I remember Paul being my favourite character, lol.
