Ah, the smell of burning cities... I mean, what? Sorry, I was getting carried away; maybe a little too much, would you agree? But anyways, so... Twisted Metal, the game that made "Death Race" possible; but in a sense, this game isn't about racing at all. Twisted Metal is the start of an amazing generation of head-to-head battle between two or more vehicles.

Each vehicle has it's own "special" quirks about it, and let's not forget; each character has a bit of a "story" and "personality" to them. Whether you are a deranged clown called "Sweet Tooth" or even an veteran cop called "Outlaw", there is so much to destroy... and so much blood to shed. Alright, alright; I'm getting a little too graphic,... geez, so much for violent content; let's just get on with the ratings.

Graphics - 8/10
With graphics much similar to "Driver" and "Resident Evil", Twisted Metal brings a new concept into the world... TOTAL. VEHICLE. DESTRUCTION! Like many of our older games, it is understandable that these games wouldn't exactly be "realistic", but believe me; with the way this game seems, it's really hard to care about it being "realistic". A game like this just screams "RELEASE THE RAGE!", and heck; you may even yell at your TV in absolute insane joy as you watch cars and buildings blow up, people splatter, and the world crush beneath your tires. Oh wow, I'm getting a little too insane again; I'm sorry, I can't help myself... this game just brings out the "smooth criminal" in me (Michael Jackson reference, don't be hatin'!) But no seriously, the graphics of this game are just utterly mind-blowing (and literally mind blowing, especially when your vehicle blows up).

Sound - 8/10
Don't you just love hearing the screams of people as they succumb to the forces of... well, not nature; but the forces of your vehicles. I mean seriously, if anything was "realistic" in this game; then the sounds of these games would have to be the most realistic nonetheless. With the sounds of exploding vehicles, screaming victims, burning buildings and so much more; this game will make you realize how sick and "twisted" you really are. Deep down inside, all of us have an evil obsession with the destruction of everything and everyone, and this game is the best way to release the evil. Let your inner psychopath come out as you destroy everyone, everything, and not to mention... the world itself will be your oyster.

Addictiveness - 10/10
A game that keeps on keeping, a game that lets you decide what to play and where to play... Twisted Metal is where you belong. Whether you want to battle somewhere in Moscow or even here in the amazing city of L.A., nothing like burning up your tires as you burn up the ground. I remember when I first started playing Twisted Metal, I couldn't help but grin as I heard the sounds of people screaming and falling; I couldn't help but laugh hysterically as the world around began to burst into flames; followed by the sound of twisting metal and shattering glass. Oh the joys of my completely psychotic behavior, but I better keep this child friendly; after all, this is only a game and you should NEVER try this in real life.

Story - 5/10
With a basic storyline, but with much more to continue onto; you have the famous Calypso, offering you the chance to have anything your heart desires... and yet, there is something odd about this Calypso character; he seems a bit "deranged", don't you think? Ha! Well, you are wrong my dear friends; Calypso is the least of your problems... if anything, you need to watch out for "Needles Kane" aka: SWEET TOOTH! The most sick and twisted homicidal maniac in the history  of all that is demented, a clown who wants nothing more than to hear the sounds of your flesh tearing and your voice screaming.

Depth - 7/10
Whether you want to tear down the Great Wall of China, or even trash the Mona Lisa art painting in some building; there is just so much to destroy and so many places to view. Be sure to look around, you may even find a cheat or two; or you may just unlock a new character. As the Twisted Metal games progress, so does the level of destruction along with the levels themselves.

Difficulty - 5/10
For me, this game couldn't be any easier; but then again, it all comes down to each gamer. At times, you may just end up cornered by all your enemies and be in the dead center of the line of destruction; or you may the guy/girl that corners someone else and destroys them from the inside out.

Word of Warning: This game isn't REAL, and should NOT be attempted in real life.
