I caved in on this game just recently and I am digging it.
The opening alone with the Plane and Free Fall Section was worth a good Half of the Price.
The section where you Get control of a Harrier modelled after The Planes from the movie Stealth? Another 10 dollars worth.

They took what made the first two games work and did something completely different.
The Story alone should clue you in on how far a different game this was going to be.

Graphics? No improvement needed.
But
I love the way they improved the driving radar to keep the players eyes on the beauty in front of him as opposed to the silly radar on the corner of the screen all the time.
Plus the Jumping and Barrier "Negotiations" with Platforms, Fences, and Car Jacking have been Greatly improved and expanded on.
The Leveling up portions are listed so the player knows what's around the corner if he keeps chugging along.

The City is Smaller than the original map. Why? So they could put a bunch of new stuff like better A.I. Enemies that force you to level up and improved graphics as opposed to the "nay sayers".
To be honest I like the smaller map. I want Action Not Final Fantasy Length Exploration for a mere Ammo shop.
Another Item they removed was the Extent you could dress the character. They have options though they are limited. (I think Too Many people made characters from other games and Possible tension ensued between "Brand Name Companies". For guys like me? It matters little. I almost always Dress My character In Clothes I would Wear If I create One. Or Things My Women Would Not get irate over if they see me spending too much time on my X-Box. (I normally model the Female characters after my Women anyway. Talk about Comedy.)
The Only Thing I Tend to play with on character creators in this game is the Voice. I use the British Dude for the guys. (Watch the Movie Crank to understand why. It works.) (Same voice actor from the second game too... From what I could tell.) For The women? It varies. What ever one makes me laugh the most.

The Cast of the Villains and Players Crew were Greatly expanded and have a ton more personality to them. Plus they have a ton of special abilities to sort through that increases attentiveness and overall fun.

They even Borrow "Batmans Rogues" and throw in a "high tech Army" that looks like it belongs in Metal Gear Or Halo.

Granted the Realestate portions are a little out of place (just the same as the second game mind you) and are only good for a chuckle. But The Goal of the overall game is to Provide comedy to the player. Side Splitting Comedy. Granted I am only 50% through the game.
But
Still, I think the product at least deserves a Minimum Of 5 out of 10 from a person that does not enjoy the comedy.

If the average gamer can get though as much as I have seen an not chuckle?
Then I suggest they unplug and live a little.

The Music is new. I dig it. May not be the best but it fits.

The Controls and Play Improved and I hardly can turn the thing off long enough to get some sleep.

The Story Is Great.

The Depth? Marginally different from the Second but still loads of equal enjoyment. The only thing I am uncertain of is the amount of game time required to Complete Every Task and it's Increased Difficulty. (I miss the Prison and the Brawls from Part 2, But I am not done with this game yet so we'll see.)

I already mentioned the addictiveness.

But the difficulty???
I can not really say.
I have not had the urge to look up the cheat codes at any point if that gives a clue.
But I tend to Clear Games Rather Quickly anyway. the True Challenge may be in Doing a full Completion with all Random Tasks Completed. Right now I am having fun.

Back to the actual Reviewer giving this game a low overall score?
I do not know why.
Yet.
I am not done and I do not intend on doing a review. Plenty of people have played this game. I feel like there is probably enough easy to find info on this game to clue in anyone anyway.

If Something changes in my opinion? I will likely post it. Currently I am of the opinion to give the Game at least an 8 Overall. (Note: Have not seen the ending or fully completed it yet. It could be a 9 or it could sink to a 6.)

I have only not heard of about 5 to 6 of the titles you have reviewed.
I seriously doubt you spent the time to complete half of the games you review.
I on the otherhand have played and completed more than half of the games you have reviewed.

In no way did he say anything to deserve having someone like you jump in and insult his reviews and calling him names. If anyone in this thread needs to 'relax and chill', it is you.

The rating seemed somewhat harsh, although I agree the first 2 were better.
3 was cliche, full of plot holes, repetitive and had an inferior combat system

This is a good review. Good job with all the detail and organization.

This wasn't a bad review, but please be mindful of the Vizzed rules. You swore three times in this one post, and technically one single swear word is against the rules. i guess it's an okay review.. personally i'd like it if more people put their likes and dislikes of the game as well...

my personal problem with this review.. is that it really does come across as you never finished it or paid any attention to the game at all apart from the first five minutes....

also this is just a pet peeve of mine... don't say something in a video game is rubbish because it's not totally realistic.... especially when the game isn't supposed to be realistic

I don't like games that are too cheesy or corny.
Conkers Bad Fur day had good jokes.
But this games jokes were un-funny jokes.
So, I played this because I loved saints row 1 and 2.
Because of its gritty style.
