For my first video game review in the Video Game Room, I'll be reviewing Lego Indiana Jones the Original Adventures.
This is an example of how the toy, Lego, became so popular that it licensed characters from movies and eventually, created video games.
This game was made before the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, so it didn't include it yet.
Now, let's get started!
Graphics: 9
The graphics of the game are very good for the Nintendo Wii, and they show neat textures and details.
For example, the color and texture of sand in the desert s very similar to actual sand.
It's just too bad that there aren't any screenshots to show it.
The graphics are also very superior and show the Wii's true capability.
Sound and Music: 10
The sound effects are very good and clear. It just fells right when you punch someone.
Gunfire sounds realistic, characters grunt when doing tiring tasks, and not to mention how good the music is!
Actually, the music isn't good at all, it's EXCELLENT!
They take the music straight from the movies, and sometimes even create their own music.
Whether you're in a jungle riding elephants like in Temple of Doom, in Egypt escaping Nazis, or just want to hang around, the music always fits.
At one point, you're building things in a peaceful area and then the next thing you know, the music changes when some bad guys start to attack you.
It's like in Pokemon Rumble for the Wii, when the music changes when you encounter foes in areas.
Addictiveness and Depth: 9
The game is even more addicting than your favorite ice cream flavor.
It's so fun! There are lots of interesting elements introduced in each level.
There is also a free play option that is unlocked after you complete a level.
With free play, you can take control as other characters instead of using the default characters.
This game even lets you have a second player!
So, you and your friend can either cooperate, or just kill each other for fun.
If there was a four-player mode, that would be awesome!
There are many characters to choose from.
Some are unlocked automatically when you complete a level and others (like Indy's enemies, for example) you have to buy them.
You can even customize your own characters! It's nice to play as someone you made.
There are also extras which are basically like cheats or Game Genie codes.
They're either supposed to help you or they're just for fun.
You have to buy them, though.
You can ride on many vehicles or animals on the way.
There are also funny cut-scenes that have no speech.
Instead, the characters mumble out random things and express their feelings.
There are bonus stages that you unlock by collecting enough artifacts.
The artifacts look like treasure chests. Many can only be obtained by playing in free play because you will need people with specific tools or powers.
Now that I covered the game play, I have to discuss something a bit serious about this game.
Notice how the word "Lego" is in the title.
The game doesn't have much to do with Lego because most of the buildings and props are not Lego.
The only "Lego" part is when you build stuff and interact with objects made of Lego.
It's still so addicting that it's indescribable!
You will have a very hard time putting the controller down, and you'll probably be playing until you fall asleep because you've been playing all night or when your batteries die, or when your parents yell at you like a monster and sell your Wii.
(To be honest, that almost happened to me)
Difficulty: 3
The difficulty of this game is very easy because you have infinite lives, the puzzles are very easy to solve and with a second player helping, you're immortal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and your buddy, too.
I recommend that casual gamers play this because the game doesn't show many traces of hardcore.
End of the Trip...
This game is very enjoyable and fun.
It doesn't matter if you're playing it on a bad Monday or an awesome Saturday, it'll somehow make you feel happy.
It does have a couple of annoying glitches, but overall, it's still nice.
Pick up a copy of it, or play it on Dolphin. It will never get old.
