Okay, so I finally made some math videos.  The problem is that I made these videos between 1am and 4 am on the day of my birthday, I had a very limited piece of technology to film with, limited programs to work with, and I tailored the videos specifically to my students who have missed a good portion of the last five weeks of my class.

So these videos are pretty 'ghetto'.  In fact, my first video is the worst because I didn't think to prepare anything in advance, and the shot I ended up keeping was about my seventh or eight attempt.

I don't plan on my future videos looking like this.  This is something I created due to a short time limit and out of a necessity to eliminate students' excuses to NOT take my final exam.  I plan on finding some app (or whatever you call them for Windows 8) that will allow me to treat my laptop as a white board, and to use a recording program which will record whatever is written on my screen directly.

However, what I -would- like to know is this:
1.  What could I do to improve the quality of the -material-?  (I know the filming methods are poor.  Trust me.  I'm asking about the MATERIAL... i.e.  The way I explained the math.)
2.  How could I improve the video details?  I'm talking about things like titles, tags, etc.  Give me some suggestions on how to make it more 'appealing', because I'm horrible at those types of things!
3.  What are my capabilities with youtube?  I see a bunch of options at the bottom, like adding notations and stuff, but is that considered tacky?  Would it be helpful?  What could I do 'editing-wise' to make this less boring?

Please remember... the first video is the worst, the videos total to about an hour, I'm aware these methods are very unprofessional, and it'd help if you had some algebra II/ trig knowledge.  However, I think it'd be interesting to hear the opinions of people that aren't familiar with this math as well.  If someone that -doesn't- know how to graph trig functions could give me feedback, that'd be awesome as well!

I hope this link leads to the playlist?  I've never tried linking to a youtube playlist before....

I can't watch the videos for limited bandwidth issues I am having but here are a few things to consider:

1. Notations are very annoying and you don't need them if you are talking in video and showing how to do stuff. Some people use them to correct themselves if they make a mistake.

2. Create checkpoints or chapters in each video, if possible or if needed, then in description you can add skip points so people can find their way through videos easier. I have not used youtube in years but I suppose you just do something like this and it automatically turns the time into a link?:
Trig Intro (0:00)
Trig Basics (1:36)
Trig Tips (5:09)
etc...

3. As for titles and tags you need to target the content you are talking about better. By the looks of it its not a Trig Review but rather Trig Lesson or Trig Tutorial, but since I didn't watch or listen to videos I am not 100% sure.

Old Title: Trig Review #1
New Title: Trig Tutorial #1  (Topic of Video) | Singelli Trigonometry Math Lessons

That is one example but it has math, tutorial, and lessons in title making it easier to find in results.

As for tags just add as many targeted keywords as you can think of for each video: singelli, math, tutorials, lessons, reviews, trig, blah blah blah

4. Quality looks fine to me, sure it could be better but most the time you got to work with only what you got.

That is my critique so far, you can keep 1000 Viz cause I didn't watch videos all the way through.
