Review intro: Tekken tag tournament is another game in the tekken franchise of course its fighting with tag parenters. But to me the game Feels a lot like tekken 3 in so many ways possible. It feels like a late tag revision of Tekken 3,anyways with that much not to say lets get started on the review.
Plot and Instructions: You pick 2 characters, and go through a number of fights mainly being tag matches and defeat the boss. Button 1 2 is your punch buttons. Button 3 is your tag button when needed, button 4 and 5 is your kick buttons, Button 6 I had checked pretty through when playing this game it does nothing at all.
What that little red life glowing bar means, and does.
this little red bar to be exact see in this screenshot here pay attention to Paul's life bar you see the little red life bar that is glowing It means your partner is ready for a fresh tag, when 1 of your character's is badly damaged. Note that part I did, just in case some users wonder what that red bar meant. Moving on
Graphics. The graphics appear really like tekken 3 here as almost all stages and what not look exactly the same.Sprites Hey its good old classic 3d polygons Which a bunch of fighting games that were ready to be in 3d used at the time. The tekken sprites use exactly that as well at least this and the previous tekken games as far as I know. Stages Look pretty good and it has a great amount of detail, I like the big finish it gives good of the tekken 3 stages as well because it uses similar design or updated coding of the tekken 3 stages. Graphics rating 9 while it does not have a new feel or look which is a bit disappointing especially since this was a ps2 game. Anyways the graphics are still good here.
Sound. Equally good variety of sound effects as there is In Tekken 3. This and the graphics section is why I said this game feels like a late tag revision of Tekken 3. As almost all sound effects and everything are directly sampled from that game so you will get round 1 fight your usual standard sound effects and everything all stuff from tekken 3 in sound effects is here almost 100 percent the same. Soundtrack now this is Something different. But sadly. I don't approve this soundtrack 1 bit. Because It has really no good composition or Creativity to it. It sounds just like what the developers used for Tekken 6 which the soundtrack was not really all that great. Sound rating 7
Addictiveness/replayablity. Really I find this game a lot of fun to play And it can be replayed over and over again but As they say the single player stuff gets old fast. Even though I find it fun for the good combos fun creative style that the newer and older Tekken games used to have. Addictiveness/replayabilty rating 7 this game is pretty fun to play.
Story. I honestly found no storyline in this game well at least the arcade versions. Even the endings Gave me no idea what was the game supposed to do or Any rival story lines as far as I can say. this is what I got when I beaten this game. So I am leaving story rating blank
Depth. Not really much to do. Just a game with 8 fights to do which can be pretty quickly done as I've said in previous reviews fighting games seem to be beaten in 1 sitting. The boss of the game is called unknown because she is a unrecognizable girl that possibly got possed by some wolf person. At least from what I've had seen in this game. Anyways depth rating 6
Difficulty. This game ant really all that hard for me because I've spent time playing games like Tekken 5 which had harder bosses and everything so I had gotten to find this game to be quite easy. Controls work fine I recommend a game pad like the Logitech 1 because it brings like a Ps2 controller feel to the game which should work perfect because a lot of Tekken games had gotten on the PlayStation platform. Difficulty rating 5
Overall this game is pretty good. Good graphics bad soundtrack. good sound variety No storyline from what I've found. Overall rating 8.5
