The Crevice of Hope!
Chapter 1 : Nightmare.

The cave grew dark as the shadows swept around Pauline until she could see only a foot in-front of her.
From the shadows a glint appeared as a red eye appeared in sight. Pauline startled walked towards the glinting eye.
The figure became clearer as Pauline approached... suddenly a second octahedron shaped green eye opened and pierced
Pauline.She flinched and could move no more as the mysterious figure approached from the shadow... Every second the
figure became clearer.. Until... " Aranidale! " Shouted Pauline.....

Pauline awoke from her nightmare to find herself with only Tyler for company. She had forgot about leaving Lori
and Twix at her home town in the deep and mysterious forest. Tyler sat quietly next to Pauline.
" Are you okay? " asked Tyler? " Yeah... I ... I had a nightmare.... " replied Pauline. " About? " inquired Tyler...
" I was in a cave and it was all dark... and Aranidale was their... " replied Pauline... "Huh.... he passed away over a year ago...
why would you start dreaming about him now?" said Tyler. " Hmm... I suggest you go back to sleep it's too early to start traveling again. " said Tyler. With that, Pauline resumed to her sleep.

" The... ....cr.... ... ... .ev....vic...... h.... " a faint sound could be heard around Pauline... she was dreaming again.... This time she was floating above a crack that spanned the whole Island. "Where... am I?" asked Pauline.... "This is where you must go...." replied the deep and sinister voice. "But where is this?" asked Pauline... no reply came.

Pauline awoke to find Tyler packing supply into his backpack. " We have a long day ahead of us, we better start heading off or we won't reach the next camp on time," said Tyler. " Where are we heading exactly? " questioned Pauline. " Annabel's house, I want to see how her research went on the claw you gave her, " replied Tyler. " Ohh... yeah... " said Pauline, sulking slightly. The duo headed towards YinHou Town, the small port town which sat between the mountain known as the Iron Spike and the Arrowhead Ocean.

After traveling for a good amount of time they had reached they're last camping spot before YinHou Town.
They set up camp and lit a fire. They sad around the fire and warmed some food they had in they're packs and began to eat their dinner
for the night. Tyler was a much faster eater than Pauline and had already finished by the time Pauline was half finished.
" I'm off to bed.... see you in the morning. " said Tyler... " K " replied Pauline... " I'll finish off my food and get some sleep as well " said Pauline. Tyler left to his tent and retired for the night as Pauline sad alone and ate the rest of her food. She slowly finished it, making sure to not waste any of the small amount of food they had left. She then retired to her bed for the night.

Pauline awoke in a dream once more, this time she was in a familiar place, the church in which Aranidale had faded into nothing.
She walked around looking for anything of interest when she came across a small coin, the coin featured a intricate pattern which included two monk-fish, a octahedron and a small river. Pondering on the meaning of the coin she slipped it into her pocket then continued to look around. She noticed the altar had been split in two, unlike it's fully standing form that she had left the church in. The more she looked the
more strange and boggling things she found.... A twisted bone, a metal shell even a crystallized  Fang. " What does this all mean? " asked Pauline... " Ask yourself.... " replied a deep and sinister voice. Shadows swept in from all directions blinding Pauline, dark shadows bound
her to the spot. She struggled until the shadow of Aranidale appeared again. More sinister than before. This time sharp and long metallic claws outstretched from his arms twisting around her... slowly tightening as if to draw all the blood from her body. Slowly she was surrounded by metal. Twisted, stretched and rusting metal which slowly took it's toll on Pauline... Pauline fainted from the pressure of the metal around her. Pauline drawing huge breaths burst up from the dream in shock, she still felt the pain that she had felt within the dream.
She started to walk to Tyler's Tent when she heard a clanging noise from her pocket. She took the object out of her pocket to discover the coin she had picked up in the dream was still their... " I'm still in a dream! " shouted Pauline in shock. She was now fully conscious of her actions and was now Livid Dreaming, she continued to Tyler's tent to find a blood splattered brown tent. She dared not enter. Pauline turned to find Aranidale watching her carefully as if inspecting her to see what she would do... " What ... What did you do? " she asked. " Nothing that you didn't ask for Pauline, " Aranidale replied. " I never wanted this! " replied  Pauline. " Then why am I here and your friend dead? " said Aranidale.
" I'm dreaming! I know it to be true! " Screamed Pauline, desperate to escape the nightmare she was trapped in.

" There is no escape for you. You must go to where I showed you and retrieve what I seek or else you friends will all perish by my might."
threatened Aranidale. " I'm not scared of you! " replied Pauline. " But your friends are. " said Aranidale and with a flick of his head the dead bodies of all her friends appeared before her, bloody and horrid, Annabel, Twix, Lori and Tyler hung in suspension as Aranidale continued to threat Pauline, " You be best do as I say or this will be the result of your insolence. "  " No! This can't be happening! " Shouted Pauline.
Suddenly everything went blank and Pauline awoke as Tyler shook her in an attempt to awake her from her slumber.
" You've been sleeping for ages now.... " said Tyler. Pauline grabbed for her pocket to discover the coin was still there but this was no dream
this was reality. " We better hurry and get to YinHou before it gets to late to travel. " said Tyler.

With that the pair continued onwards to YinHou discussing Pauline dreams and the intricately designed coin she had managed to transfer out of a dream. " I still can't believe this coin found it's way out of the nightmare.... " said Pauline. " What's on the other side of it? You only mentioned the first side. " said Tyler, with that Pauline flipped the coin over to discover it was a completely different pattern on the opposite side. On this side their was a strange symbol, three lines and a circle between two of the lines. " I wonder what that means. " said Pauline.

The long journey had finally came to a short walk as YinHou was in sight, they slowly but surely reached the gates to the town....

The next chapter will be called YinHou and will be more about the dreams and the research Annabel had conducted.
