Well if you rate a game such as MegaMan X low, than you are not the type of gamer who likes insane awesomeness. The game MegaMan X is a game with some flaws but also has some very good parts to it. That is the reason I will give this game a 9.2 overall. As you will see in the review MegaMan X has some of the best parts in any game on the Super Nintendo.
Graphics: 10 For a Super Nintendo game, the graphics are very good. If you look at some other games for the system, they just can not compete. First are the characters. They look neatly made and slightly real, not like human real, in a robot real situation. Then comes the enemies. They look just as good as X himself, nice and created with TIME. That is what makes the difference in this game and others, the creators put some time into creating the characters. Than comes the backgrounds. Have you ever played a game with a blurry green background that looked like barf? Well, you will not see that in MegaMan X. The backgrounds are clear and very detailed. That is why I give graphics a 10.
Sound: 9 The sound in this game is not just a 2-5 note repeated scheme. The music in this game is legit. You have all different times when you get good music. Such as the music for the intro stage, when Zero comes in( Best music) and everything else! Weather you like a game with exiting music or slow music than you will find that you love the soundtrack for MegaMan X. You will also find that the music stays on a central theme during the duration of the game, which is not bad. The boss music is a great way of showing how good the sound really is. I make it sound great but I give it a 9 because there are some Super Nintendo games with a far better soundtrack to them.
Addictiveness: 10 This game is very addictive. As you will see later the game is very hard, and that means you will keep trying to play this game until you are able to complete it. Once you start a level you will just keep trying until you finally beat the boss. You will also always risk your life to get armor upgrades and heart canisters, which you will probably die trying to do and you will have to restart the level. I have played this game for 2-3 hours straight just to try to finish the game. As you can see this game is the type of game that you play if you have more than just 15 minutes of free time, unless you are VERY good.
Story: 10 The story for the game is very complicated. Be careful reading on if you do not know about the game. The story is basically MegaMan X, along with some help from Zero have to defeat the main boss,Sigma. This requires you to beat 12 mini bosses ( bosses of the levels) in order to unlock the final, and hardest, level the one where you have to battle Sigma. The 12 bosses are very easy compared to Sigma but the levels are about .5 as hard. The story for this game is very long and entreating to anyone who is a fan of the MegaMan games. If you are looking for a game with a good story, than this is what you want.
Depth: 10 This game has so much to offer that it will keep you playing for hours. With not only a fun level, how about 13 others. This game has the main levels and than a level that is very long, Stigmas level. All of these levels teach you about the game threw its level designs. The game will take you anywhere from 1 day to 1 year to complete. You will have to bee really good to complete it in only 1 day, that is just so hard. Overall this game has just so much material that you play, it is just awesome!
Difficulty: 10 Just to say, you may give this section a 1, but that is just unreal. Completing this game in one try is just not possible to me. This is the main thing that dragged it down. If this game had just not been as hard than, who knows, it could have gotten a 10. This game is one of the hardest games I have ever played. It is so good that you get more than 1 life, you will be dead in no time. The intro stage is pretty easy, but the rest of them are just annoying. Sigma's level is the hardest by a long shot, I mean how do you get passed it? Anyway this game has a lot to offer but also has a lot of difficulty.
Any type of gamer you are, you will probably enjoy a game like MegaMan X. Just go out, buy a Super Nintendo and shove this game in to the game slot and have good time. This game is a great game, the best for the Super Nintendo,( that I have played) and will always make sure you have a good time. ( Just to say, you can use the cheat codes for the game to help you out but I would say it just ruins the fun) ENJOY!
