If you want to catch spiritomb (without using Action Replay), you need to talk to 32 different people in the Sinnoh Underground. (Not including Hikers, sorry!) You can do this by having a friend keep exiting and respawning in the same spot 32 times. You now need an Odd Keystone, so go to TwinLeaf Town. Surf there, and use the ItemsRadar. It should be on the left side of the pond. Then, go south of Solaceon Town and go to the little stone well, south of the Pokemon Cemetery. It will ask you if you want to insert the Odd Keystone. Say yes, and Spiritomb will appear. It is level 25, so bring Pokemon of that level. You only get one chance. To get another chance, you will need a second Odd Keystone and need to talk to 32 more people in the Sinnoh Underground. Good luck and happy hunting!

You can catch mew without gameshark in blue/red/yellow. You have to start a new game. Then play until you get the "fly" HM make sure you don't fight these two trainers: a youngster with a slowpoke Lvl 17 you find him on the way to bill's house he is looking north and standing just above a lass, And a gambler with two polliwags and a polliwrath all lvl 22 on route 8 he is standing under the underground entrance that leads to celadon. Now once you get fly go to the entrance of the underground entrance that the gambler stands under press down and immedeatly after pressing down press start. Now go to the pokemon you have taught fly to and fly to cerulean city. after this your start button will not work it's normal don't worry. Now go fight the youngster with the slowpoke and beat him. After that your start button will work now fly to lavander town and go west towards celadon city when your walking through the passageway your start screen will pop up by itself exit the start screen and you enter battle.
IT'S MEW! he wil be lvl 7 with his only attack pound it will be easy to catch him so try it out it worked for me! NOTE: since this is a glitch it might mess up your game but it has been proven safe by many have fun!

This is for D/P/Pt (diamond, pearl, and platinum) it's not a cheat but it always helps me

Easy legendaries off the GTS:
Restart the game a few times until you get a female starter pokemon. When you get too solacean town put the pokemon in the day care with a male of the same egg type and check if they like each other. (easy breeding put piplup or either of its evolutions in with a male bidoof, put chimchar or one of its evolutions in with a croagunk and put turtwig in with a snover.) when you have lots of little starters running around after hatching deposit them on the GTS for the pokemon you want and someone will most likely snatch up your pokemon within hours because everyone want a team of starters, you can also get other starters with this and run a varied system. after a while import starters from other games and you will have boxes of starters in your PC. I did this and level 100 dialga, mesprit (a shiny one), uxie, heatran (i killed the one in my game), rhyperior (that was not legendary just awesome), cresillia and 2 palkias!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!

Okay, tips for fire-type users

To take on Brock's gym with charmander as your starter, there are two options:

1st: go catch a mankey just outside of Viridian City, to the west.

2nd one (FireRed/LeafGreen only): level your charmander upp to level thirteen and teach it metal claw. Note: this is easier to achieve as you already have the necessary pokemon, however it is riskier as if you don't KO it quickly enough, Brock's Pokemon will KO you.

To fight Roxanne's gym with Torchic, the easiest strategy (and the only one I can remember, sorry, I haven' played Sapphire in years) is to evolve your torchic into combusken and teach it double-kick.

For Roark's gym in D/P/Pt, with chimchar you once again have multiple strategies:
1: evolve chimchar into monferno and teach it Mach Punch and rock smash
2: evolve bidoof into Bibarel (assuming you have a bidoof, if not you can catch one) and teach it water gun and rock smash
3: head north of Oreburgh, catch a Machop, get it to level ten to learn karate chop, and teach it rock smash

Hope these help any fire-lovers!

I can prove these work, I've done them all.

My cheat for Gold/Silver/Crystal:

Choose Cydnaquil for your starter. It will learn SmokeScreen at level 7 and that can save you loads of times, like fighting Falkner.

I've got an update after playing Ruby on here. Another way to fight Roxanne is to catch a seedot, get the Bullet Seed TM from the guy just outside Petalburg woods on the Rustboro side, and teach that to seedot.

I am sorry, I can't help.

So for Pokemon Emerald, to beat Roxanne, choose Mudkip. Level it to learn Mud-Slap. Use that on Roxanne.

I have a starter cheat for crystal. It will only work if you have the actual gameboy colour version though.

Step 1. Start a new game (save before you get your starter)
step 2. play until you can catch pokemon (DO NOT SAVE AT ALL DURING THIS TIME)
step 3. catch 1 pokemon
step 4. go to a PC and deposit your starter
step 5. go to change box and turn the game off when the last period shows up in SAVING... DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER.
step 5. turn the game back on
step 6. If you're at where you first saved, repeat with the next starter if not, start again
