What led to the DQ for thing1? It didn't seem like he broke a rule but maybe I missed it.

geeogree : yeah, I know. That is what I am mad about... Forum flooding? I have never heard about that... and I make sure I spread my posts out... if it is in this thread... I post the same amount in here as Eirinn... usually replies to his posts... and if I got the DQ... then how did Eirinn not get DQ'ed for spamming 10 word posts the same day?

thing1 : I wasn't around last night to say either way. It's up to pacman to decide these things. He must have felt you were the worse offender. I can't say for sure who was worse since I'm not watching for these things at all right now.

I don't like handing out a DQ when the race is this close though but it's not my VCS to run =/

geeogree : Yeah, I think I am done competing now, seeing as how that DQ was totally uncalled for, not fair, and there is no way I could win now.

Q- Is there a way to be DQ'd?
A- Yes. Generally, if you are banned, you get DQ'd for the day. If you spam, you are DQ'd for the day. The easiest way to get DQ'd is abusing Crazy House. 20% of your posts (1 of every 5) should be the most you post in that one forum. Spread the posting out.

My guess is that 20% of your posts ended up in the crazy house for yesterday. And if that is the case then you were DQ's legitimately. I have no idea what the results were since I can't verify them anymore but that is the only thing I can think of that would make sense.

thing1 : Hey, whoa. First things first. You just threw me under the bus, man. What's that? : I don't see how I spammed either. I abode by all of the rules, stayed on topic, and made sure my posts weren't pointless. Ten words is the minimum, and is acceptable, so long as there is a point. So even if there were ten worders (I don't know if there were or not) I was blameless with that.
I actually support you here, man. I don't know why you were DQ'd. What is forum flooding? I didn't know that was a vcs rule, unless it means too many Crazy House or VGC posts. Hey, I'll lie low and let you make up the lost ground if you'd like. No need to quit.

That said, I mean no disrespect to pacman. If it was a mistake, I'll guess that it was an honest one.

Eirinn : there is a VCS faq thread that covers what can get you DQ's and "forum flooding" is one of them. That's the 20% rule I posted in my last reply. It's a bit higher for other forums and 30% for Crazy House + VGC combined. That rules has been there for several years now and it shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone.

Like I said before, I can't verify exactly how close he was to the 20% mark since we're 15 hours away from the 24 hour period in question.

thing1 : To clarify the DQ you had a few days ago, even though you can do whatever in your Army Forum, it still is flooding if you post more than 20% there.
Also to clarify on Eirinn, his posts weren't spammy at all. He didn't post in one area strongly, and his words were fairly wordy to be legitimate.

geeogree : Oh ok. I was unaware of that. I knew of the rule, but somehow thought it only applied to those two forums. Thank you for the clarifation. I do have one last.question though: Are these Vizzed rules, or just vcs rules? Is it considered spam if on an off month I only post in one forum for one day?

pacman1755 : my forum? I got DQ'ed for my forum? O.K. ... I can understand that one... sorry for the rant... but still, I have not posted that much in there... just fixing stuff, replying when needed, and bumbing threads that needed to be bumbed...

Eirinn : would you back off until I was caught back up? I could not ask you to do that... but that would be awesome if you would.

Eirinn : it's a VCS rule. It really only applies during the VCS. The rest of the time it doesn't apply strictly. We aren't likely to ban someone if they want to post a lot in one forum. We will though if it does become excessive and annoying to other members.

So, since thing1 is perma-banned does that mean I'm in 2nd place?
