I'm thinking of buying one and want to know what the usual price is on EBayAmazonwhatever. I would just use the NES that I already have, but the Famicom has a larger game library + certain games can have save data with a certain Famicom-only peripheral. if you need to research it because you've never heard of a Famicom, use this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famicom

9-Volt : I would highly suggest you do this research yourself. It all depends on how good of condition you want the system to be in. Personally I own a Famicom and I purchased it in a box for 100$. A good condition one will probably cost you around 50$ with shipping, but sometimes you can get lucky. They are less available online than say an NES.

Personally although the Famicom is a cool system, it is inferior to the NES on a multitude of levels. Sure it has a slightly bigger library, but how many of those games do you actually want to play? Also, do you speak Japanese? If not, this could ruin some of the fun for you. Also keep in mind that the systems do not play the same games. I also hate the fact that the controllers are hard-wired into the console and are very short.

The Famicom is only at it's best when you have the "Disk System" a good condition disk system with the accessories you need will probably cost you about another 40-50$

I will close this thread since you requested. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about what I said.
