A few weeks ago, Eiji Aonuma informed us that they were planning to rethink the conventions of Zelda. They planned to take away the linearity of the game, and add a multiplayer aspect. They plan to do other things, but those are the ones they plan to focus on.

Lets face it, Zelda games follow a strict pattern.

Cosy, humble village.

Something bad happens

Link got a sword and shield!

Get three things

Plot twist

Master sword

about 5 more things

Ganons castle

End

Eiji Aonuma hopes to fix this. One of the main developers of the game "dark souls" had an idea of how to implement these new conventions. He thinks Zelda games should be like the game dark souls. Dark souls has a multiplayer aspect where you can have a second player drop notes and things on how to get past something, and it has a non linear, massive over world. While I love it to death, I think the Zelda team should really re-think some of the things about it, and I would love to see some of the changes they are going to bring. Though they are starting to make me think they are going back to the build of the first Zelda where you just walk around in an incredibly dangerous over world until you find a dungeon.

What do you guys think about this change? Tell me in they comments
